Went here with my brother who's in town visiting, along with my wife and parents. We all decided to go with the AYCE option. For meats we tried a solid mix including finger steak, beef tongue, pork belly (both regular and thin), and even beef intestine. We also went through all the banchan, and my parents ordered the veggie pancake and spicy tofu soup. Overall everything was really good. We didn't get a single bad cut and everything was flavorful and cooked well. What really made this place stand out though was the service. MJ took care of us and was incredible from start to finish. Since it was our first time, she walked us through the menu and even helped cook the meats so we could actually relax and enjoy our time together. She stayed on top of the grill, swapping it out right when needed, and was always checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted more banchan. What stood out the most was how thoughtful she was with my parents. She made sure they had food on their plates without overdoing it, which was such a small detail but meant a lot. The food is disgusting! To the side dishes, to the appetizers, to the meats. It's flavorless and sloppy. Ive been to dozens of KBBQ and this is so disappointing. If you want good quality, clearly you have to go North. It feels like it's been adjusted for the palate of unexperienced people with Korean flavors. Very underwhelming. The seasoned/marinated meat was average. The worst was the Beef Brisket(ChaedolBaegi) which is like little rolls of beef--it was clearly frozen and expired. After it was cooked, it tasted like plastic! Me and my friend spit it out. The spicy pork roll was disappointing as well. The meat selection is quite limited. The soups taste like nothing. Soybean soup is very easy to make--the paste gives the flavor you need. It was bereft of it! Tasted like nothing, and it has random pieces of mushroom which, sure I guess. The spicy tofu soup was also flavorless and not spicy. The kimchi was hardly fermented. The seaweed was not right...The fishcake was bland. The spicy cucumbers were not good. The bulgogi fries were soaked in grease. I was excited to get the Sikhye (sweet barley drink) but after eating everything, I was hesitant and put it off. The atmosphere is good. Oh god, I am not sure how I was able to walk out of there. I was so so full. It is such a fun experience! And what a deal for an all you can eat place. I was so lucky to go with my friend who happens to be Korean and she has been there many times. She walked me through it all and ordered for us (thank you, MJ!). We went with the Gangman signature meats for $49.99 - You need to go hungry and with people that will help you do some damage. You don't want to be wasteful. At one point, our grill made a popping noise and turned off. They had to exchange it in the middle of our dinner. They were very apologetic about it. Unfortunately they only carry Pepsi products. This was my first time trying Korean BBQ but I went with experts so I felt less intimidated. They ordered some great choices of meats and did most of the cooking. I got to sit back and enjoy the experience! I loved the bulgogi and pork belly! I love protein and prioritized that over sides. However their churros were one of the best I have had in a restaurant. They also had very good soju. Our waitress was very attentive taking our next round of orders often and replacing the grill. This place is so cool and modern, with great deco, claw machine games, and even a full bar! This is a great place for a date, group of friends, or even a team dinner. I love a good ayce kbbq spot. This place was highly recommended online and I was intrigued by their well put together website. It specifically states that they believe they provide a more elevated experience compared to those in Houston and Dallas. They are correct that they are different, being worse than both. We came in for dinner for a party of 2 on a Friday and were fine to wait. We were seated after about 15 mins. We waited at the table for 10 mins before someone brought a menu or took a drink order. We placed our first order about 10 mins later and quickly received some Banchan and meats but no rice or additional sides/apps that we requested. The rest came out over the next 5-10 mins but still no rice. I understand you get a lot of different things with ayce kbbq but me personally, I can't eat the meat without some rice. We waited 40 minutes for rice. Forty minutes. For rice. We had to ask 3 times. This wait ruined our experience since we already went ahead and started eating some sides and cooking the meat. It finally arrived after we cooked our first round of meat. I feel like we lost out on the total amount we could've had. The meats themselves were good. We had the beef brisket, beef bulgogi, and spicy pork bulgogi. We definitely could've eaten more if we didn't have to wait so long. The waiter apologized and asked if we wanted anything from the bar "we have $5 margaritas." First of all, I don't drink. Secondly, how does me paying for a drink I don't want makeup for this wack experience. The banchan were all pretty good. I really liked the spicy radish. The cheese corn was mid, not cheesy or creamy enough. I didn't like the dressing on the salad. The spicy ramen was good. I like that they had a call button available which was helpful when we needed a grill change or to order something. I have been to many Korean bbq places and this was one was by far the smokiest one. Borderline making it difficult for me to enjoy my meal. I understand a place like this gets really busy on a Friday or Saturday evening. However, if you're trying to provide an "elevated experience," then make sure you are prepared to do so. Rice is the most basic thing to be served. We chose set A which is $39.99 a person. I've had better for less. If they can fix these issues, it could be a solid spot but based on the experience I had, I would not recommend it. read more

First let me say that our server Duyen was the sweetest thing ever. She was so helpful in telling us about the menu, options, tips on how to cook, and our drinks were never empty. The place is fairly new, has lots of seating, and has a very modern Korean flare to the decorations. There are plenty of meat options and everything we had tasted fresh and of good quality. My coworkers and I went there on Friday and at least three out of five of came down with some degree of food poisoning. The one who was hit the hardest had the most of the bingsu, but it's not clear which food product was responsible. It's been a long time since I've had such a clear instance of food poisoning. I've been to dozens of kbbq restaurants in several states across the US, and I'll just be very frank. Austin ayce KBBQ scene is A-W-F-U-L. For the longest time we only had charm kbbq, which was half the quality but twice the price of what any good kbbq would be. While we have more options nowadays, that pretty much set the standard and precedent for the quality and pricing of future ayce kbbq restaurants to follow. I'll be happy to say that Gangnam is the one exception in all of Austin. While it still doesn't match up against the kbbq places in a city like LA, it is good and stands in a tier of its own in Austin and leaps and bounds better than whatever the 2nd place kbbq place may want to debate about. The food is great; everything from the meats to the banchan and additional appetizers you can order from the menu. All the small extras are complimentary including rice, lettuce wraps, sauces, garlic/onions/japapenos, etc. Dessert such as sikhye and pumpkin porridge is included to end your meal. They don't nickel and dime you for little things which is refreshing (I can't believe I have to state this as a perk). I've been several times and the service is always good. They are attentive and friendly, and employ people with a bright positive attitude. No grumpy ajumma in sight. The pricing is also on par and not any more expensive than other kbbq places in Austin, except the quality is much better. They have LA Galbi included in the lowest tier while most places have it in the middle tier, so if you're someone who upgrades to the middle tier at other places just for the galbi short ribs, then this place is actually cheaper! They have a more affordable option for lunch with slightly less selections. They even offer a student discount! I think they could have done better job with the decor and given the establishment a more upscale vibe to match the food and service, but this is the least of my concerns and doesn't really compromise the overall experience much. The biggest downside for me personally is the location. I pray for the day when they open up another location further up North, but until then I feel if you're going to spend $50 on a nice dinner, do yourself a favor and drive the extra 15 mins if you live far away. My daughter and I walked in at 9 p.m. and were not even greeted with anything pleasant. This short Asian guy was pretty rude. He sharply stated that they weren't seating anyone. I said that's fine we'll order Togo and I said jeeze jumping the gun are we. I asked if I could see the menu. My daughter and I were debating on eating there and contemplated changing our mind, but he made the decision for us. Apparently, what I thought was a rude employee is one of the owners. As I was scanning the menu, four men walked in, and another worker was about to seat them. I jumped up and asked them to hold on, explaining that they had just told me they weren't seating people. They then informed the gentleman that they couldn't seat them after I had spoken up. The owner, piped up and said what does it matter to you? You said you were ordering Togo. Another employee took over and apologized. This was the only positive interaction I had with the staff. I asked if the rude employee was one of the managers, and that's when I found out who he was. Just so you're aware, the restaurant closes at 9 p.m., not 10. They start cleaning an hour early and will not seat you unless you're a man and look like you have money is my guess. The nice employee told me about the experience here, and I said that I would probably not return after this. The only reason I'm still putting in my order is because I'm hungry and don't have time to find another place. It definitely feels like this guy discriminates against women since they were fine with four men walking in. I do not recommend this place at all. Women beware!!! read more

These prices provide appetizers, Ramen, fresh vegetables, and Korean side dishes. If you come in at 3 it starts happy hour till 5. You will get discounted prices for alcohol mixed drinks or beer. THE AYCE KBBQ spot in Austin! Food: Great meat selection even for lunch menu with beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Side dishes are great, especially fried chicken and dessert. Tofu soup was great but recently it's been a hit or miss sometimes too oily or salty. But at least they offer small portion so you can try it out. However, their noodles are HUGE so watch out lol Service: They are great! Speedy service! They also have a bell for you to call your server which is super convenient. But they also hang close by so you don't really have to use it a lot if you're not comfortable. Solid kbbq. Service was pretty quick to help, but I did notice that side dishes took a bit to arrive. Meat quality was good, not frozen. In some cases I noticed that the same cut of meat would have a big difference in marbling between orders. My big recommendation was the galbi, by far my favorite on the basic menu option. Kimchi was surprisingly good as well. The intestine was a big miss for me though. One thing to note is our table did not have a vent so there was definitely smoke in our faces, but this was a great experience nonetheless and I would go back! read more

Came here for the first time with my friends celebrating a surprise birthday party of 9. We got the Gangnam Signature Meats buffet for $50. They have different types of buffet that allow you to order certain things. The only catch is everyone has to order the same buffet which I think kind of sucks because some don't eat as much and they're fine with the cheaper menu. Anyways we ordered a variety of food items such as ribeyes, short ribs, brisket, bulgogi, shrimps, veggies, pork belly, shrimp tempura, and many other foods. We also had the Shikeh (rice drink) and the pumpkin porridge. The Shikeh drink is super delicious. We kept ordering so the waitress just gave us a pitcher lol. We also ordered the Korean shaved ice that they had. This wasn't part of the buffet and it was pretty huge so we all shared. It's a refreshing dessert. The food portions that came out are huge and the cuts were perfect. The only downfall was 1 of 2 electric grills on our table, tripped twice and it kind of messed up the grilling of our meats and the pace of us smashing food. It was an accumulation of 15-20mins to repair. The wait caused the food in our belly to settle in and we got full a little faster. They had to literally pull the whole grill out of the table and replace it with another. My friend ordered mandoo too and it took forever to come out and when it was cold. Overall, other than some of the meat qualities and the food tasting good, there was nothing unique or special about it. You have to rely on the dipping sauce they give you because some of the meats were unseasoned. The staff were friendly and fast. She got our order as fast as she could by herself. Lots of parking and lots of tables to dine at. They have 2 grills per large tables that can fit approximately 8-10 people. I think it's not enough grills for a party larger than 8 because everyone was throwing their food items on these small grills while others had to wait to cook there items especially when one of our friends was allergic to pork so she could only use one grill and those around her had to rely us cooking the pork items for them. read more

Being one of the few KBBQ spots in Austin, I would say this place satisfied our craving of solid KBBQ. Parking is easy, the restaurant is huge, ambiance is good and the service was great. We haven't tried the new Gen location in North Austin but Gangnam so far is the best all you can eat KBBQ in Austin at a great price. Service was super attentive, even for our party of almost 20. They made sure to seat us all at one table for our reservation, checked on us frequently, and served dishes quickly. Meats were marinated well. My only feedback would be that there seemed to be additional AYCE items that weren't on the menu but on table tents in other parts of the restaurant. We had finished eating at that point so didn't ask about them. The banchan was also strongly ok. Would love a more marinated fish cake one! read more

So we ordered from Gangnam Korean BBQ for dinner by way of DoorDash and loved it. The food was delivered in a reasonable manner. And everything was delicious! Definitely recommend the Hawaiian beef as an entree as it made for a great dinner. Their shrimp tempura gimbap and tuna gimbap were both solid, and they hook it up with their portion sizes. We asked for something spicier and the water brought us two things out, one was a paste that you can't really dip anything into and the other was so spicy that it was practically inedible.
