Please please please support this place. Filipino food is so sparse and rare to find in Austin, especially good Filipino food. This place however is a diamond in the rough. This mart has all the asian spices and ingredients that you would need. I never thought I could find somewhere in Austin with reasonably priced banana ketchup and ube halaya. Now on to the food, I got a pork adobo plate with pancit and rice. Coming from Hawaii, I've missed good pork adobo so much. One of my biggest problems with pork adobo I've had in Austin is that it is usually not sour enough or is too dry. This place exceeded my expectations. The adobo tasted amazing and the sauce was just dripping off my chin. The pancit was also amazing and tasted like something I'd get from home. Also considering the price, they pack the plate. You wouldn't think they cook anything up in this tiny asian grocery mart but they cook up some really good filipino food and we love to order the lumpias. We ordered a dozen. They have some options on a board for a menu. You can also call ahead to order. I definitely recommend trying their food. read more

Friendly staff with clean and organize store on the south side of Austin. While the store has a great selection of Filipino food. I found the prices to be quite high! The price tags on these items are way too much compared to some of the asian stores in the area- we found the prices are much lower and half their prices. Go, just go. They're so nice and have the things you won't find at HEB. If you're an Ube lover, you need to run, don't walk here. They have Ube pillows, ice cream, cupcakes, paste.....you name it. The owner is so sweet and willing to answer any questions you have. read more

I've been going to the Filipino Asian Mart for a few years now. I have only ordered food a few times (it's not the primary reason I go there). The adobo and lumpia brought me right back home. I mainly go there to buy lumpia wrapper. This store ALWAYS has the individually separated wrapper that I like to use. The individually separated wrapper is a huge time saver while rolling. I also get a few packages of pan de sal too. In addition to the food I have also used their service to send a box back to my parents in the Philippines. I bought the box from the owner of the store. I filled it with a TON of stuff and brought it back to the store. They sent it off to the Philippines and my parents received it 3 months later with no damage. The process was very easy and my Dad was so surprised on how big the box was! The owner is always very friendly and helpful. I will continue to do my Filipino shopping there! read more

I love the Filipino Asian Mart - This is my favorite hole in the wall, gem of an Asian grocery store in South Austin. It is very small, but it is clean, organized, and has all of the essentials that I need so I can cook all of my favorite Asian dishes. Plus, the fresh, hot Filipino lunch options are delicious! Reminds me of my mom's home cooking. Very big portions, and I can't wait to try their lumpia and dessert. I've seen where other people have mentioned the slightly higher prices - it's true, and the owner is so transparent about it. I love that! He is running a small business, and he is selecting and supplying the essentials in an area where we just don't have that many options for authentic Asian ingredients/products. Personally, I think it's absolutely worth spending a couple extra dollars to support a small business rather than have to drive all the way up to Cedar Park or other North Austin locations for what should be a "quick" supply run. read more

The food included 2 Dinners and Soup 1) Chicken Adobo w/Rice & Pancit 2) Dinuguan w/Rice & Pancit Ala-Carte 8-10 very small pieces Meat Lumpia Pint of Sinigangv Adobo was sweet which I was not used to but I'd give it a 6 out of 10. Pancit was okay giving it 5 out of 10. Dinuguan was okay giving it 6 out of 10. Sinigang okay scoring 6 out of 10 Lumpia flavorless scoring 4 out of 10. In conclusion the food was very expensive in our opinion. 2 dinners w/1 item, rice & Pancit Lumpia Sinigang Also purchased 2 small noodle tubs add hot water and 1 Chomporado add hot water Total $71 Overall would not revisit!!! read more

REAL AUTHENTIC FILIPINO FOOD! We will be back at least a couple times a week until we try everything! It is all made in small batches so that it is fresh! We had the pancit which was seasoned perfectly and loaded with veggies moist and delicious. The lumpia (egg rolls) were stuffed with meat filling and also seasoned perfectly and come out blazing hot and freshly cooked! It is also a market with Tina of Filipino items you just can't find in a grocery store or other Asian market!! We weren't familiar with the area, but we were hungry and had pulled into this parking lot to search the net for something to eat and found ourselves staring at the door of the Filipino Asian Mart. Great choice! Since we were in the car and had a way to go before we got home, we sampled a few things and saved the rest for later at home (everything reheated well, in case you were wondering) We ordered several items, all were delicious. Portions weren't large, however, considering the price. The lechon and lumpia came in small dessert-sized containers by typical restaurant standards, the pancit was in a pint-sized container, and the larger carry out container contained 2 chicken legs, a scoop of something else tasty, and 2 scoops of rice. The lechon skin was super crispy and perfect but most of the pieces had a huge fat layer (the tastiest part after the skin) that could have used more time to render. I popped them in the oven to reheat at home and render them a touch more so they wouldn't have such a gelatinous mouthfeel. The pancit wasn't anything special, it was meatless, had barely any vegetables, and tasted too heavily of soy sauce. The shop is tiny with a lot of random things available for purchase (handbags, anyone?) and two tables available for dining in. Service was prompt and pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. Adobo chicken fell right of the bone, and the pancit is vegetarian so my Ate could have some. The lumpia was no different from when my nana used to make it for me. Overall a great experience at this market everything from the food, products to the shop owner, an excellent small business I'd recommend to any of my friends.
