I ordered from Hawaiian Bros via a ghost kitchen for lunch. Hawaiian Bro serves Hawaiian comfort food, the classic plate lunch that consists of meat, two scoops of white rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. I was using my $10 birthday reward coupon. I ordered the Mixed Plate with the Huli Huli Chicken and Honolulu Chicken via the app. I added extra veggies and skipped the rice ball to cut down on carbs since the chicken is served on a bed of rice. The ghost kitchen parking was challenging but once I got to the window, and provided my name, my food was ready when promised. The ghost kitchen was a building with windows for several different restaurants at one location, but the window for Hawaiian Bros was clearly marked. It was packed securely with plenty of napkins and utensils. Portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and well-packaged, which is always a plus when ordering from a ghost kitchen. I ate my combo plate and work and it was still warm when I got back. The Huli Huli Chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized with that sweet-savory glaze. The Honolulu Chicken was flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. Adding the veggies was a healthy choice, they were fresh, crisp, and balanced the richness of the chicken perfectly. It also came with a side of their famous macaroni salad. If you're looking for authentic Hawaiian flavors, Hawaiian Bros is definitely worth a try. I'll be ordering another combo plate again for sure.

Ordered a plate with teriyaki chicken, rice, and mac salad. Overall okay. The portion size was on the smaller side. I wish they gave more protein and a bigger scoop of mac. The mac salad was honestly disappointing. It was very wet and had this overly tangy, mayo-heavy flavor. The chicken was decent, but the teriyaki sauce leaned too salty. I actually liked the flavor at first, but after a few bites, it started to overpower everything else. The rice was all right, a bit sticky.

If you want authentic Hawaiian plate lunch, this is not the place to go! Lookup L&L Diner (which is also nearby). I'm born and raised in the islands, so I grew up eating huli huli chicken and teriyaki chicken plate lunch that had far better flavor then this! The corporate owners aren't even from Hawaii. If you must indulge, sign up for their birthday club and just place an order once a year with the $10 off they load into your profile! This is literally what I do, and every year hope the recipe got better. But honest over the years it's quality has lessened. Sadly. Mahalo for reading and supporting real island food and not this.

3 of 4 delivered. Ridiculous that a customer can't contact the store.

Just ordered delivery for four people. Never ordered here before but they were running a 2 for 1. Great deal, but only three plate lunches arrived. Immediately tried to call. No number to actually talk to someone. Had to choose catering and leave a message. Then messaged on website. "Someone will be back to me in 2 days." Absolutely awful customer service to not offer an option to fix a fairly major mistake. 75% of the order means Everyone eats less.

-Ordering is online only but the QR code that is on the side of the building will not open. You have to walk to the patio area and scan the QR code for all of Ghost line kitchens. I did ask about ordering at the window, as the main webpage says it's allowed but staff refused. Ordering did glitch but I was able to complete it with only a few issues. - Wait times are not excessively long, about 6 minutes once order submitted. -Food is a nice portion, more rice than I expected, but it was cold. Mac salad should be cold but not the main protein and rice. Taste of main protein is good. I don't think I'm a fan of the mac salad in general and the veggies appear well seasoned but some pieces weren't cooked all the way through. -Service person was friendly, they weren't too busy but the smile she gave and asking if I needed anything before I walked away was nice. Summary: I don't think I would return myself but I do recommend this for people who like their chicken.

Ordered Large Mixed plate - got 2x rice, 2x pasta, but only 1/2 usual protein. Huli Huli and Honolulu.

August 2024 Less than a week after my last review of HB, I ordered delivery again. It's that good. However, they got my order wrong. I ordered a Large Mixed Plate, which is a $6 up-charge from a regular mixed plate. When I opened the box, I found 2x rice and 2x pasta salad but only about half of the protein I got last time. And comparing what I received to photos online, this was clearly some kind of mistake. There is no way 2x white rice, 2x pasta salad, and LESS protein is worth +$6 up-charge. I'm annoyed, confused, and seriously questioning the consistency of service. See attached photos for comparison. Even so, the food was as tasty as last time. I got the same thing (see previous review) except I tried the Honolulu Chicken this time. Honolulu Chicken: This is tied with the Huli Huli Chicken for my favorite. Absolutely fantastic and reminiscent of bulgogi, this savory dish is a must-try for anyone who is a fan of Asian-style cuisine. Strong flavors of garlic, onion, and soy. Love it. Recommend to the chef = a touch less sodium bc the more you eat, the more overbearing the saltiness becomes. You HAVE to have something (like the creamy pasta salad) to break up tastebud fatigue. Fantastic dish though. Will definitely recommend it.

I tried huli huli chicken last month while visiting Hawaii, so I was excited to try Hawaiian Bros! I ordered the large mixed plate with huli huli chicken and luau pig. The plate also came with rice and mac n cheese. The portion size was big enough to share with another person. The chicken and the pork were flavorful and tender. Mac n cheese tasted just like what I had in Hawaii. If you're looking for a taste of the Aloha State, I would definitely give this place a try.

The brisket is only seasoned with salt and pepper so the flavor of the meat and smoke comes through. The ribs are also finished lightly with bbq sauce, still preserving the meat flavor. I was genuinely excited to check this spot out and left severely underwhelmed. The good? Well, our server was attentive and nice. 10/10. The drinks were pretty on point for a tiki bar. The ambiance is primo, and it's genuinely a great place for a date to have drinks. The bad? The food was very lackluster. We ordered the following: Snow Crab Musubi: I honestly don't understand how you mess this up. The menu claims it comes with kewpie mayo (my favorite) and chives, but the quenelle of crab that was put on top of the rice was bone dry, falling apart, didn't appear to have any chives, and was served with a haggard lemon wedge. There was zero fat to coat the tongue, and it legitimately tasted like unseasoned crab with sushi rice that didn't even have a hint of acidity to it. As someone who takes pride in his work as a chef, at the $14 price point, this sort of rubbed me the wrong way. As a matter of fact, it felt borderline pretentious. This is coming from a guy whose mentor was the R&D chef of the best restaurant in the entire world. And no, I'm not being hyperbolic. I simply take pride in my work. This restaurant group actually has an R&D kitchen, and the best thing they can muster up is this half-baked dish? Do a light cold smoke on the crab, make a nice Knorr-based soy mayo for some umami, and top that f*cker with something to brighten it up. Preferably something that has synergy with... I don't know, Hawaiian BBQ. I felt like I was eating a lackluster Asian version of a Crab Louie Salad. It was absolutely bonkers. Slingin Shrimp: This honestly wasn't that bad, but the presentation and portion size could use a little love. The shrimp submarine makes it a bit awkward to eat. Butterfly the shrimp. It will sit nicely on top of the rice and give it more appeal. As mentioned before, the sushi rice had zero acidity to it and simply not well seasoned. Li'l Octo Karaage: It tasted great, but the guys in the kitchen need to know how to cook squid. It was far too chewy, which is unpleasant. This is a quality issue that could easily be remedied. I will also say the fryer oil appeared a little old because the fry itself had a fairly dark appearance. The drinks and ambiance were the only highlights. It has really cool decor and a cozy vibe to it. If you're looking to get a couple of nice drinks after dining out or you're pregaming? This is a solid spot. If you're looking to impress a date or a friend from out of town? That's going to be a nope from me, dawg. Admittedly, that crab musubi just irked me. So boring. No love. Just unfiltered nonsense that only the uninitiated would be impressed by. I actually applied to work at their R&D spot a few years back, and from the looks of it, they could use a guy like me. Again, I was very excited to finally dine at this spot. Their ramen establishments tend to be fairly on point. Their dashis are great. No idea what's going on at their tiki spot.

The Robot Ramen was light, yet rich, the meat was succulent (and not too thin, at the risk of being dry) and the noodles were al dente--both were cooked nicely. Really enjoyed the Pom mule drink on happy hour. The cucumber refresher was a little too sweet for me. The spinach dumplings and barbacoa dumplings were both great! So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I usually eat my onion rings with ketchup but I didn't need any. The onion rings were tasty on their own. Overall this food truck had delicious burgers and onion rings. The service was good despite the online ordering system not working. It was a very filling and tasty dinner.
