On the surface all poke bowls may seem the same but the quantity of items you can select, the freshness of the ingredients, the price and serving size all end up being differentiating factors. This was my first time visiting Poke Bar in Chamblee. There was a lot of free parking available and the restaurant looked clean. There is an art to ordering poke bowls (unless you are a regular) but the staff was helpful and made it a breeze. You pick a base, protein, mix ins, sauce, sides and toppings. I got a medium bowl with 3 proteins - tuna, spicy tuna and more of the same (what can I say - I love tuna) on a base of rice and greens along with some edamame, cucumber, corn and sesame oil. You have options to choose from as you go through the step by step process. My bowl tasted great and all the ingredients were fresh. In my opinion that's the main thing. Yes it is a little pricey but for fresh and quality ingredients it was worth it. The serving size was plenty too, so no complaints there. At the end of the meal I was satiated but didn't feel guilty about the food I ate. Win win! Will be back soon!

Came in today, because my daughter was craving for a poke bowl. Coming in there was 2 customer that was already seated. I had to video chat my daughter, so she could see exactly what she wanted. The guy at the counter was sitting down, obviously looking at his phone. But once I approached the counter he ask what I wanted. I politely told him I was ordering for my daughter. He saw me videoing her and he gave me the menu. It's seemed as though he gotten aggravated because I was taking 2 seconds too long with the order. I guess he had to get back to whatever he was watching. But anyway! I told him my ingredients for bowl. He started rushing me to finish. My daughter is pregnant so she can't eat raw fish. I told him shrimp, octopus and albacore. Right when I finished my trans action. He threw my bowl in the bag without any utensils and then walked off to the back. I really wanted to say something ugly to him, but I chose the higher road. Because I might have to come back. Once I got to my daughter, she started to eat it. And THIS MUTHA F$%&#@ put raw tuna in the bowl. Grant it I wasn't watching him fully making the bowl. But I made sure I said those 3 ingredients. Now!!!!!!! I really want to get back in all this dang traffic and go throw this bowl at him. And it's not even good.

I've been a huge poke fan for some time now and Poke Bar is one of those spots that deliver consistent quality bowls across multiple locations I've visited. Recently stopped by with a bad poke craving. There are plastic shields hanging from the ceiling since COVID. There are signs that ask you to point to what you want since it's very difficult for both parties to hear one another across the shield. I ordered a small bowl with less rice for my base. Small bowls come with two proteins; I chose shrimp and ahi tuna. Toppings I picked included imitation crab, onion, edamame, scallions, seaweed salad, furikake and sesame seeds. Sauces used were spicy mayo and sesame oil. Service: Good, no issues here. The experience was very smooth and quick. Everyone is wearing masks and gloves. They also use disposable bowls to mix each person's poke bowl. Parking: A number of parking spots in front of the store and along the curb. There's a small parking lot further down from the restaurant to the left. Poke Bar is a solid poke spot. Wouldn't say it's the best out there but the poke quality is consistent across all the locations I've tried.

I still love this place, the customer service and the food! And, if you keep returning and sign up for their loyalty program, you can earn free food/drinks! Covid-19 requirements are in place, including facemasks wearing by employees and customers, heavy plastic sheets hanging between the tables, plastic separating the customers from the employees and the practice of social distancing. The food served is still fresh, and the employees are still friendly, attentive and efficient. What I like best about Poke Bar that sets them apart from competitors are that Poke Bar employees hand mix the poke, the sauces and the other ingredients together, spreading all of that deliciousness throughout the bowl. If you can't find parking in the small parking lot right in front of this store, there is a free public parking garage nearby. Poke Bar, continue what you're doing because you're doing a great job!

I rarely get cravings for poke bowls these days but when I do, I get excited over the fresh poke at Poke Bar! My first visit to the Chamblee location was very nice. It was a quiet weeknight and there weren't many people inside. I always love salmon in my poke bowl so I made sure to order plenty of it. I like that you can customize bald greens and half rice - that way I'm not overstuffing myself with just rice but I'm also not starving afterward from only eating greens. I love the toppings they offer, as well. I have trouble differentiating poke from the various poke competitors in Atlanta. There are so many options these days and they're all similar. That being said, the Poke Bar chain was the first major poke restaurant in town so that is the characteristic I notice about Poke Bar first. That is the reason I am rating Poke Bar with a 4. Nothing special but pretty tasty all the same! Convenient location for me when going on the way to the LA Fitness in Brookhaven.

Always a solid place for a poke bowl. I've been to other locations they have and I wasn't disappointed at any of them. I think their options are the best. This is a great spot for a quick meal

    Yummy medium bowl.

Always fresh. Always good. Love the various options too. A reasonably priced tasty and healthy option for lunch or dinner. One of the few places you can purchase a healthy meal outside of a full-service restaurant. Service with a smile. Prompt and friendly.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lunch spots in the area; super fresh ingredients, high quality seafood, generous portions, and friendly servers. If you're craving sushi but want to try something a little different go for poke!

Spicy tuna, kale noodles, seaweed, ginger and matcha milk tea

I'd received a text advising that I had a free drink coupon...and since I'd never tried, why not just get dinner? Compliments for making spicy tuna that is actually spicy. The kale noodles were tasty. Ginger wasn't the freshest but wasn't bad. And the boba milk tea was pretty good too. For a quick poke fix, this place did pretty well. I would give it 7 out of 10 (round up to 4 out of 5 stars). Well done!

CUSTOM POKE BOWL!! visited this place for the first time today and it was lovely. the store has some seating that is very COVID friendly with dividers between tables and the serving area. i didnt really know how it worked and learned that you can make custom poke, but premade bowls are only available if you order ahead online. i wish you could order premade ones or at least show them for some ideas and inspiration, especially if you don't know where to start. i got a small bowl which was a good amount of food. i liked how many of the toppings were already included and free. one of my favorite parts of the bowl was the sauce. i had their house sauce and the sweet chili sauce and it added so much flavor to the bowl! i also got some bubble tea - mango jasmine tea with lychee jelly. it was pretty good but nothing spectacular. overall, i thought this was a good place and liked the idea that you can totally customize your bowl. for those interested in what i got in my bowl: - Rice - Salmon - Shrimp - Corn - Green onions - House sauce and sweet chili sauce - Seaweed salad - Imitation crab - Avocado - Crispy onion - Crispy garlic - Furikake

I've been driving by this location for over 2 years now and I'm quite upset with myself that it's taken so long for me to give this spot a try. I came in on a Friday evening looking for the perfect post-workout eats. Upon walking in, there's a long bar accompanied by menu(s) that walk you through building your bowl (or smoothie). The bar is sectioned off by each step, ex: step 1 consists of picking your size and the bases (brown/white rice, salad, etc) next section contains proteins and so on and so forth. There are countless toppings/combinations so it's the perfect place to customize your order. I ordered a large bowl which consisted of 4 proteins (spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp and octopus). The salmon and spicy tuna were absolutely delicious. Really loved the variety of veggies (seaweed is my fav) AND sauces - large variety of vegan/gluten free options. I was also quite pleased with the portion, hoping this is consistent as I saw reviews saying their portions have been a bit inconsistent over time. So ashamed it's taken me so long to visit here, literally 2 minutes from my apartment! Fresh, light (but filling) and guilt-free eats :)

I have the rewards program, but if you're doing delivery and don't order here often its cheaper to go thru Uber Eats based on fees, at least in my experience. There's been a couple occasions where a few items are missing from the "create your own bowls" I've ordered but nothing major. Uber Eats has gotten sooo much better about refunding for little things like that, so it hasn't been an issue. They do charge by add-on if it's a premium item so you just need to pay attention if you didn't order it in person. I do understand they could be busy and just miss an item or two or ran out of certain ingredients also. I feel like the quality and consistency is better here than Chipotle or Gusto (at least the one I tried). I haven't tried all the other salad/bowl places nearby yet, but I do enjoy the freshness of the ingredients and options here. Their green goddess ranch is good (I haven't liked it at other places). I like their mushroom mix as well, probably even more than their steak. Their rosemary focaccia is a nice compliment to the bowls as well. I haven't had any bad items here so far. The portions are generous, which is not always the case with every salad place. I look forward to trying more things.

But it wasn't like that at all. I had never been before, even though I've passed it so many times. I finally decided, "Let me just try it." The cashier was really nice and explained how everything worked. I asked her what her favorite salad was, but instead of going with her recommendation, I trusted my instincts and built mine based on the ingredients that stood out to me. I ordered the Polynesian chili mango salad with mint and added grilled shrimp. I wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp, but the salad itself was so good that I still ate the whole thing. The flavors were layered and intentional. Not generic, not bland. I love when salads don't taste like an afterthought. What really impressed me was the hot sauce bar. That blew me. They had multiple hot sauces, and as someone who's basically a hot sauce connoisseur, I appreciate that because different hot sauces pair better with different foods. That detail alone elevated the experience. The space was big, clean, bright, and full of color. It felt fresh. Overall, I was genuinely impressed. I definitely want to go back and try the other salads.

Based on the reviews and pictures I saw I decided to give Three Buddies a try. Three Buddies was easy to find as it sits right on the main road. They have their own parking lot so there is ample parking so once I turned, I hopped into a park and we headed inside. Three Buddies has a simple decor as the design aesthetic is straightforward and leaves the focus on the restaurant name itself. The restaurant was very clean and had a diner style setup with ample seating. Once seated, the waitress approached us with a warm smile and cheerful greeting. She provided us with menus, took our drink order, and allowed us some time to review the menus in full. With a variation of halal items on the menu, Three Buddies had me wanting a little bit of everything. However, I decided to go with a classic approach and get the Chicken Sandwich (fried) with Onion Rings (both well done). Once our order was placed, it was back to the enjoyment of the ambiance as we engaged in our conversation. When our food arrived at the table, the visual presentation was extra enticing. But I was out and about early in the morning and decided to stop by here right as they were opening. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. But I definitely had a moment where I had to ask myself if that was a $20 well spent. Bronx Bagel Buggy is a SMALL deli in a middle-American Atlanta neighborhood that might still think it's in NYC. Hate to say it but this is why many southerners are lowkey pissed with the massive migration of northerners down here... I got the Standard (Bacon, Egg, Cheddar) on a rosemary salt bagel. While the bagel was tasty, the inside of the sandwich was not. Limp, soggy bacon. Cheap, McDonald's style egg patty. This sandwich should be $6 at most. The bagel itself was delicious and very well done -- this is clearly where they are putting in the effort and I have no qualms with it. But next time I'd just get the bagel by itself and skip paying more for what felt like not-so-great ingredients. I also got a chai latte with oat milk. Well made, but surely nothing spectacular. Holy cow... $6+ for that, too. Oat milk is an extra $.70. I don't know whether to be disgruntled with the owner or the local/federal taxes that has places charging like this LOL. It honestly just feels excessive, especially for the area it's in (love you Chamblee but I love you especially because you're affordable and not built around pretentiousness). Service was nice and it was clean when I went in. Perhaps the lunch sandwiches are more worth it? I am all here for spending a pretty penny on food but I am lost on this one.

The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience.
