Loved this spot in downtown Decatur. Parking could be challenging. It's small on the inside, both table and window seating available. Easy concept and directions to follow - pick a base, add 2 proteins, and top as desired. I opted for the spicy tuna and salmon - very good quality - no upset tummy later. I probably over did it with toppings but everything tasted fresh - appreciated the raw diet vibe. It's also a tea spot inside, but I didn't try. Drinks are bottled. Solid poke spot! We ordered for delivery on Grubhub. we had the build your own bowl and the spicy tuna bowl. It came out to $32 before tax and tip which isn't cheap, but not bad either considering we were both just the right amount of full. These things don't keep well for leftovers anyway. My first poke bowl ever, and it was delicious! I finally found a poke place that has gluten free stuff. I did a small build your own poke bowl with salmon, avocado, cucumber, edamame, spicy mayo (GF), and Tamari soy sauce (GF). It felt healthy and had lots of flavor. The spicy mayo packs quite a punch. I know Poke Bar from visiting other locations. We had a bad sushi experience nearby where the fish was not fresh, but this wasn't the case with this Poke place. I came around 11ish and it was still early, so there weren't a lot of people yet. I was able to find street parking and walk and get my food. Got a custom bowl - with kale noodles and mixed green. I'm a big fan of any point place that offers noodles as I prefer them over rice. I got spicy tuna, albacore and scallops. Bowl was delicious and fresh! After having a scoop of ice cream right across the street at Butter and Cream, I was interested in lunch and decided to step into Poke Bar! Poke always makes me weary because everything is fish related (or can be), and in fact when I visited the menu photos from yelp, they weren't as updated as the latest offerings here from poke bar (I was just going to get tofu), so hooray! What did I get then? With Poke bar (and many poke places actually) you start with the size of your poke bowl followed by the base. I got their medium poke bowl ($10.95) and brown rice. You then get to choose your protein(s). See those red dots underneath the bowl size on the menu? The number of dots translates to the number of proteins you can get. For the medium then I got 3 proteins (Beef, chicken and tofu)! Sides and toppings fill the bowl out and you're out the door pretty quickly and there's no limit to these....add to your heart's content! The flavor of the poke bowl was great! Everything from the veggies to the tofu tasted very fresh. The beef (bulgogi) is warm, sweet, and tender. I like it! The grilled chicken is also pretty juicy and flavorful. Again, customer service is fast, seating is plentiful with a few outside tables as well (where I sat). Poke Bar is smack in the middle of the Decatur square, directly across the street from Butter and cream ice cream. There is a small amount of parking directly in front of the storefront, but you'll be lucky to nab those spots. I like Poke Bar. It's a nice fresh alternative that makes you think you're eating healthy, even though you probably aren't. That's okay though. I appreciated how there were 3 different bowl sizes: small (2 proteins, $8.95), medium (3 proteins, $10.95), and large (4 proteins, $12.95). I picked out half brown rice and half spring mix as my base. Fish were fresh. I got the house and ponzu sauces and also really liked the zingy cucumber salad as one of my sides, along with another side of seaweed salad. Crispy garlic and furikake were perfect dry toppings. Just the meal I needed!   I tossed my trash and then immediately discovered a recycling bin off to the side. Hmm, maybe get some flashier signage for the recycling bin and make it more prominent? I rarely ever write reviews and even if I do it's usually for one of two reasons: hospitality or taste. I'm glad to say this poke bar in Decatur more than satisfied both categories for me. I came with my dad and sister and the servers were very generous and patient(even gave my sister and me free water bottles). So the service and hospitality criteria was definitely met. Taste wise too this place definitely met and exceeded my expectations. So glad another poke place opened in this spot! I was devastated when the last one closed after less than a year. Like their predecessors, Poke Bar has super friendly staff and the setup is pretty similar. Only build-your-own bowls now, but I never did the pre-set ones anyway. They also do 3 different sizes, and seaweed salad doesn't cost extra! Plus even with the small, you can choose two different proteins. Unfortunately there were differences I was less excited about... A ton of my favorite ingredients are no longer available including quinoa, sweet potatoes, mandarin oranges, and green goddess sauce. The lid on the container doesn't secure very well, so the dressing seeped out into my bag. I ended up getting brown rice, salmon, tuna, a bunch of veggies, and their house dressing. It was good and definitely tasted fresh, but the dressing was too sweet for me and there was too much of it. Definitely recommend getting the dressing on the side.
