Wahoo grill is a staple in Decatur, but it wouldn't be my first recommendation if someone were searching for food in the area. They offer valet parking and the attendant is always so pleasant. This was our 2nd time eating here and both times I was underwhelmed. The food lacks flavor in my opinion. The mussels were ok, but with some added seasonings it would have been excellent. We did enjoy the focaccia appetizer with the different flavored butters. The blackened grouper was ok, but again lacked flavor. Staff were very helpful and kind.

Mac & Cheese was very flavorful. Could taste a couple different cheese combinations. Crab cake was also flavorful. Would recommend them both. Service was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about engaging. Overall great experience and would recommend and return!

Great service! Food was really good - didn't try the cheese fritters, but liked the calamari and shrimp and grits. Restaurant is off the beaten path and close to the road. Lots of twists and turns to get to private dining room.

I've been dining at Wahoo many years and have always enjoyed it. They have a beautiful courtyard out back and areas to host large parties. I've always been fond of their special brunch buffets on Mother's Day and Father's Day. They also have a taco Tuesday special with $4 tacos and discounted margaritas. Their menu changes often, but it typically has a nice selection of items. This past visit, I had the crab bisque and fried chicken. The chicken was seasoned very well. It came with collard greens and mashed potatoes which were delicious as well. This is a Decatur staple for very good reason.

I came here for the first time for my friend's birthday dinner. It was $85/person. Apps were steak eggrolls, calamari & chicken satay. All 3 were delicious. The salad was just ok. For my entree, I had ny steak strip and double mash potatoes. I ordered medium well for my steak and the outside was burnt. Each piece had a burnt taste. I couldn't even eat it. The mashed potatoes were good. My cocktail was good but very small. I had the rose water cocktail. Overall I don't feel my meal was worth $85.

JUST GO! Stop reading now and get in your car and head here now for one of the best meals you'll ever have. :) We all know how important the parking question is so don't fret there is free street parking on the other side of the building and a small lot across on the grass and whatever you do, don't let the outside building looks fool you. It's a gem once you're inside. We made a last minute reservation for a Wednesday evening and we were instantly greeted and sat a beautiful inside booth. They do have a patio in the back which looked lovely but it was a bit chilly so we opted out. Our server was Vera who was a true gem and addition to our overall dining experience. We can't wait to get back and see her. Now to the good part, the delicious meal and cocktails! Drinks: Decatur Crush 10/10 The Garden Party 10/10 Peach Margarita 20/10 Food: 1. Crab Bisque Cup 8/10: could have been warmer but the flavor was definitely savory, creamy and not too seafoody if you know what I mean 2. Fried Calamari 9/10: breading was crispy and light and the sauce was a mayo or aioli style that pairs well; would have loved if they served on the side to dip but not necessary to enjoy 3. Chef's Choice of Focaccia Bread + Thyme & Sourghum Butter 10/10: pillowy bread and a beautiful take on butter to add to the bread, almost a sweet initial taste that carried into a thyme finish 4. Winter Salad 10/10: no notes, perfectly dressed! 5. Seared SeaBass 9/10: buttery sea bass that was "crusted" with a scalloped potato which was a different take than expected. 6. Grilled Salmon 9/10: salmon was cooked perfectly for me (so many places overcook salmon) and I've never had a berry note with pasta or rice but this was a bright and refreshing cleanser for the palette. 7. Espresso Brûlée 10/10: so creamy, rich, and perfect bitterness from the espresso! With all that sad, I cannot wait to come back and experience more of the delicious food and great company of the staff. Wahoo you have my heart.

What a charming experience! Parking: there is $4 valet and maaaaaybe parking on the grass across the street but I didn't risk it. The valet was easy and convenient. Ambiance: the restaurant looks quaint and charming and then the garden room and patio open up into this gorgeous, bright, yet cozy space. Great vibes. Service: friendly, kind, attentive, and cool. Everyone seemed great and quirky. Food: fabulous! Truffle fries: delicious, but the sauce was the star. Some truffle parm aioli but it hit! Peach buratta salad: tangy and tasty. I do think it was heavily dressed but the flavors were fabulous. The peach shined and paired well with the tomato and buratta. Crab soup: very creamy very thick. Good flavor, but I wouldn't order again. Seared tuna: unique and delicious. The flavors paired so well. Butterscotch pot de creme: unreal perfection. Tasted just like a worthers in pudding form. Overall great experience ! Will definitely be back to try more of the entrees.

Everything was utter perfection. Seriously though, I have no negative notes. Every bite of my food was delicious, I scared it all in about 5 minutes. My husband son loved their burgers, and my other son actually took some bites of his chicken fingers. On top of that, the staff was incredible. Very accommodating, super friendly, I easily could have invited them to sit down and join us for dinner. Absolutely do I recommend this restaurant and it makes me wish I lived down the street because I would come back at least once a week!

This place is a hidden GEM in the Decatur area! The ambiance is beautiful, this is a great place for date night. Me and my boyfriend visiting on Tuesday during happy hour 4-7pm. They have $6 margs / $4 tacos. The tacos were yummy and the drinks were strong . I love a good deal especially when it's worth it. The staff were very welcoming and our bartender was the bomb! She was so sweet and she definitely knew what she was doing on the drinks!! Thanks Wahoo for having me can't wait to come back

Came for mom's 80th birthday. A very unassuming area, parking across the street is free, but is a hop up a curb onto grass, a side gravel alley with a valet (do not bring big trucks or cars- you will not fit), and I think free parking around the corner somewhere. Valet is $4, Venmo, etc. with maybe a small tip in cash. Walk into an old building- not anything fancy or a grand hostess stand. The restaurant itself is quaint! Nice bar. Staff may come across snarky, but they are being hospitable, professional & want you to enjoy your time. We had a table on the patio. Lots of plants, fun string lights & there was a wedding rehearsal dinner out there too. Couples enjoying their company, etc. very romantic!! A heater on the patio came in handy towards the end. Appetizers were fresh & delicious. Good portions to share. Entree's are $22+++. I got shrimp & grits, a few ordered the Filet Med Rare & it actually came out too rare for them. They didn't want to say anything to anyone b/c we were with a group. Another friend (man) ordered the trout & said DELICIOUS, but he left hungry. The burgers at the table ordered Med Rare & came Rare... too rich, but delicious if that makes sense. Others enjoyed their Fried Chicken- said hard to eat- maybe off the bone would be nicer? Mom received a complimentary dessert & enjoyed her Pot de Crème! A lovely evening, PRICY, mom felt celebrated! Definitely a special occasion destination. Dress: business casual and up!

Had a nice dinner last night. First time there. We were seated near the open kitchen. Was fun to see the different dishes coming out. Got the tuna tartar and it was very yummy. Three of the pieces of tuna were really tough and I'm not sure why. I've never had tough to eat tuna in a tartar before. I got the steak. Was good but needed salt. The sauce it came with was very good. I asked our server for some sea salt. I should have taken a photo of the tiny amount she brought me in a small dish. I laughed thinking it was a joke! Also my potatoes were definitely from a box. They really had no flavor and I was disappointed in the texture and taste coming from this type of establishment. My guy liked his scallop entree and the burrata and strawberry salad was really tasty! Valet parking outside only $4. Very nice!

Finally went to Wahoo for my ladies birthday and we loved it. It's a very rainy day so they were kind of slow so the vibe so extremely chill. We ended up sitting at the bar since there wasn't anyone in there. We got a glass of wine and ordered the meatball and swordfish w/ scallops. The homemade pork and beef meatball was super delicious! It came with a rich creamy polenta. The swordfish and scallops definitely were worth it. It came with a garlic potato cake.

Came here for dinner to try before my brother gets married here in June and it was delicious! The fish was so fresh and flavorful, and the service was quick. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with drink/food choices. The atmosphere was great as well, loved the music and the bar seating looked great. Definitely recommend!

Do they actually serve Wahoo fish?

Yes they do when it's in season for them to do so. They even had a wahoo and grits with Pico and herbed butter on the brunch menu a while back.

My clients and I parked in the courthouse parking deck, which was about $6, I believe, and we took a short walk over. The bathrooms were clean, and we were basically the only ones in the museum besides workers on a weekday. We checked out the Flat Rock exhibit first. This is what drew me to the museum in the first place as I have been wanting to check out the actual Flat Rock Archives for a long time but just haven't had the chance to. This exhibit and all the exhibits on-site here were free. This was a fairly small exhibit, but like the others here, there was quite a bit of info to digest, so I recommend taking your time to read through everything or whatever catches your eye. After the Flat Rock exhibit, we checked out the Decorative Arts exhibit, showcasing some interesting old pieces in the museum's permanent collection. Then, we made our way to the Dekalb County history exhibit, showcasing the past 200 years of Dekalb County. This was probably my favorite exhibit on display, just because there was so much info on different places and people that as a transplant I hear a lot about but don't really know all the ins and outs about. It was all very interesting and informative. Lots of civil rights history and even info on places like Buford Highway and its history - a stretch I travel daily but didn't know much about. We ended the self-guided tour with a walk through the Avondale Estates exhibit, displaying the area's controversial history. I had heard some of the history of that area on the news a while back, but had no clue that it was similar to Forsyth County (and a lot of areas historically I'm sure) in that they basically did everything they could to keep non-whites out as long as they could. There was more history on the people of that area and how things have improved. Once again, there is a lot to digest, but definitely worth a walk through and some time spent. I would highly recommend this museum and all the current exhibits if you're a history buff or just want to learn more about the community, whether a transplant like me or visitor. I would definitely return to see other exhibits in the future, and apparently, this is a very popular wedding venue also, so there's that! Check it out if you haven't yet.

This is a smaller venue and for the budget we had, it worked perfectly for us. I stumbled upon this venue on Yelp and after reading the reviews, we both knew this was the place for us. I love that they allow you to bring in your own food, alcohol, decorations, and don't force any "preferred" vendors down your throat. This truly helped us stay within our budget. The space itself is just beautiful and charming. High ceilings, lovely hardwood floors, plenty of greenery space surrounding the building to take pictures, and plenty of parking for our guests. They had all the tables and chairs we needed so we didn't have to rent anything and the facility manager was on site during our event so if there was an issue, she was able to assist. We just loved how helpful Cindy and Beth were. From the time we decided to use the space, to the day of our wedding, they were always quick to respond to any questions we had and were just overall helpful. The venue has space that is quite versatile and they setup the area to your needs. It was the charm of the exterior that really helped us make the decision as we knew we would have our celebration during the summer. They have a brick area out front (with lovely string lights that just make it soooo much cuter in the evening) where we ended up having a small ceremony and also used the space as just an area where our guests could come outside, sit, and mingle during our reception. They have a bridal suite, a pretty big kitchen for vendors to use during the event, and a good amount of restrooms for your guests. My husband and I couldn't have picked a more lovely place to have our wedding and am so happy that we went with our gut and stuck with our decision to utilize the Solarium. It's got great natural light and a pretty color palate. I only had two issues with their event service. 1. I wish they recycled. My wedding was three years ago, so maybe they do now. I had to ask a couple of friends to help me with recycling so that all of the glass and plastic wouldn't go into the garbage. 2. I wish they would clean up the bride's room a little. This is the main room for the bride to get ready, and it's usually a mess. They call it the "art room" and wouldn't really help to de-clutter it for photos. Still, even with these issues, it's a great value for an in-town location and it's a beautiful part of Decatur's history. I love to shoot there, too!

The staff is very unfriendly and inhospitable to be in the hospitality industry this should be unacceptable. I have never experienced such disrespect speaking to customers either. All the front desk associates were not accommodating or helpful when we asked them any questions or had any requests or concerns. The night desk manager was the worst of all. She was rude, disrespectful and extremely condescending in her tone and speech. And I specified at the beginning of my hotel stay to have "late check out," but the day I check out, a man knocks very loudly on my door early in the morning, opens my door, then proceeds to loudly say "housekeeping! Are you checking out today?" I told him to come back later and I had late check out. He still continues to have a conversation with me still standing with my door ajar and proceeds to ask "what time are you leaving"? Are you serious right now? We are having a back and forth early in the morning about when I'm going to leave because he did not have the courtesy to make an effort and find out first which rooms have a late check out, and even after I informed him I have a late check out, he continued to inconvenience me and ask me further questions about when I will leave for his convenience's sake. My father recently passed, I cannot sleep or stay asleep easily. He woke up an insomniac that specifically requested the hotel for a late check out. I do not appreciate that. I did not want to be disturbed or awakened in the morning. I had to wake up early and decide what time I had to leave, for housekeeping's convenience. I was forced to speak with housekeeping, who entered my room without my permission... also during check in, I saw several bugs scurrying about on the floor... so hygiene and cleanliness is questionable too. Just a horrible experience all around. I would not recommend if you want a pleasant experience with smiling faces and hospitality oriented attitudes. Being from the hospitality industry myself, I am flabbergasted at this hotel and accompanying restaurant, platez, as a customer.
