I have been filling up on BBQ during my time here in South Carolina and wanted to change it up and have some poke. They have brown rice, which made me happy as lots of places don't offer that. Was disappointed the bowl only came with one scoop of protein. Most places I go to give you two scoops and you can pay extra for a third. Not here. Went with the spicy tuna. While visiting friends in Greer SC we decided to try this place for dinner. One of us tried The Duke signature dish while the rest of the party built our own. Fresh ingredients made the dishes excellent and the worker was very friendly. BUBBLE TEA was a plus and tasted very good. We all decided we would be back again. What a wonderful surprise! I searched for a healthier option within walking distance from my hotel and came across this place. Looks very unassuming from the outside but it's one of the best poke bowls I've ever had! I don't eat fish, so I always get tofu. This bowl tasted so fresh-the cucumbers, pineapple, avocado... STINGY! I use to go here during my lunch break when I worked down the road and the service was great for a while until my last instance where they only gave me a half scoop of my protein and when I spoke up he said he had to charge extra. I agreed and moved on. I usually go to the greenville location on woodruff but tonight decided to go to the Pelham road location. Yet again, stingy about the protein. I don't expect two scoops for free but please at least give me what I'm paying for. If you're in the area take your time and go to the one on woodruff road. It was good, not my favorite poke bowl but, the salmon tasted fresh. I also made some changes to what was offered in the menu so that may have contributed to the taste. It is located off Pelham road ( near Five Guys in the old Yogurtini) Upon walking in ...it does not look like much of anything--clean and simple lines ...no decor and no music ...very few chairs --many stools and tables ( like Chipotle), even the garbage can is a metal ( like one you would have outside ) However the bowls and food are delicious! I had a shrimp poke with cucumbers, avocado, sushi rice , and various other toppings !! It was delicious-and more than filling ! Cost is reasonable for what you get bowls range from $9- 12. Other reviewers have done a good job of cluing in the locals on what poke is and how to pronounce it and how this restaurant works. My favorite description is that this is the "Subway" of poke (and it rhymes). So, no need to go through the in's and out's of the process here. I will say that poke (pronounced Po-Kay) is kind of a cross between sushi and ceviche and is a Hawaiian raw fish dish, similar to a sashimi or a zuke don bowl. The flavor is very good. The ingredients are fresh. Individually, the ingredients are very good here and I like them all. Put together in a poke bowl and it still tastes good but is kind of a dog's breakfast of mishmashed ingredients. The result, especially with the addition of the sauces, is a kind of single note flavor. I really liked the dish, there was a good ratio of ingredients to rice, it was a substantial quantity, but I could not get past the fact that the sauce and combination resulted in a one note dish that got tiresome the nearer the end of the bowl came. I'm not knocking poke, but the idea behind sushi is the subtle refinement of the flavors. I'm speaking of traditional sushi. Sushi has been "Americanized" to some degree, with the variety of specialized rolls that, although are tasty, would make the sushi purists shudder because the subtle art of showcasing the ingredient(s) are lost. Poke has taken this one step further and the Poke Bros bowl has notched that up even further with some jacked up marinated tuna and a variety of sauces. This is the difficulty with the review process. This is good food, but it is also approaching the novelty level of carnival food. What I mean is that this style has progressed into an amalgam of flavor that loses any component or distinction of the texture or individual flavor of any single ingredient. It's the opposite of the "deconstruction cuisine" movement. Poke is a great food tradition which lends itself to this affordable, fast casual type restaurant. I'm glad to see it in this area. I may eat here again, but hold the sauce, hoss, or at least put it on the side. I guess it is just not my thing, I much prefer the variety of flavors and textures that come with sushi or even ceviche and definitely prefer the individual notes of flavor rather than a lot of a single note. read more

Every bite is an adventure of great flavors. Honestly, this food is good--really good--five star good. The digs are that modern industrial semi conversational with full tables and sitting with whomever will let you in kind of thing. It's the busiest place in a strip building with a handful of fast food places. It sits between a Firehouse Sub and Le Peep breakfast place. It reigns high above them all. I've had my share of Poke bowls. I was craving something fresh after eating lots of heavy stuff while visiting Asheville. This place isn't too far from the greenville airport. The place was packed and I was afraid I wasn't going to have a place to sit but you basically have to share tables with people because they're all long tables with stools. The concept is like chipotle but for Poke Hawaiian style food. You choose a base, your protein and your toppings. This place really loaded on their ingredients which I appreciate. There was plenty of staff around and some training taking place. Everyone was super helpful with the process but let me break it down for you. You can pick a signature bowl or build your own. I built my own. Pick your: Base... I went with sushi rice. This is like a sushi bowl so this is the obvious choice to me. Ingredients... some of these cost extra so pay attention but just pick whatever you want Protein... your choice determines the cost of the bowl. I went with spicy tuna. Sauce... OG sauce is standard so you can add others or just get extra OG... its up to you. Toppings... add some crunchies for texture. My creation was absolutely delicious. The sushi rice tasted legit. The "spicy" tuna was very fresh and the pieces were large enough to not get lost in the bowl although I didn't detect any heat. All the other ingredients were very fresh. The sauces are very tasty and the amount of sauce was about right to keep the bowl from being dry but it wasn't soggy either. The crunchy toppings balance out the softer ingredients very well. I've had many poke bowls before in Atlanta and Poke Bros had greater variety than some of the places I've been to. They have the usual salmon, tuna and spicy tuna but they also have spicy salmon, marinated tuna, crab, chicken (I'll be judging if you get this here), and octopus (crazy!!). Second time trying Poke Bros and this time I've got a major complain. The essence of poke is using fresh ingredients, but this was not the case with my bowl today. Asked my husband to grab us a lunch to go and he got 2 bowls with lettuce, which was so "fresh" it started to turn black. He only noticed when he got back home, and now we're stuck with half of our bowls that belong in a trash. How could it get unnoticed it's a mystery to me, don't you check your ingredients to make sure they're fresh? Apparently a server also can not see that they're putting a rotting lettuce in a bowl? Poke Bros is about to get a lot of my money. I tried them for the first time today and I am hooked. If you haven't had poke, it's basically deconstructed sushi in a bowl. The Johnny Utah is a safe bet for a first timer. The sriracha aioli was delicious. I may or may not have licked the bowl clean. The ingredients are all fresh and there is plenty for the price. This could easily make 2 meals unless you're starving from a day of assembling furniture or something. I ordered online and picked up 15 minutes later and it was ready to go. So easy! I had a feeling I would like it, so I ordered a second bowl to have at dinner. I did the build your own bowl with tuna, sushi rice, lettuce, ponzu sauce, wasabi aioli, cucumber, carrots, avocado, green onion, edamame, sesame seeds, and wonton chips. The only upcharge for that was $1 for the avocado, but online they were running a $1 off special, so I ended up getting that discounted. It was good, and if you like wasabi you will love the aioli. It's exciting to have a poke place in Greenville, and Poke Bros can provide the poke fix you need, but may be in trouble if any competition comes around. They have all your standard poke ingredients and it works like most poke places. You can order either a signature poke bowl, with pre-determined ingredients, or create your own. Be careful not to put EVERYTHING on your bowl, it's easy to add some ingredients that just don't work well together and may be overpowering. The employees working there are one of the reasons that I give it a low review. They seem like they could care less about their job, they don't know what ingredients go in each signature bowl, and one time, I ordered online and upon picking my order up, I found that my bowl was made wrong and they completely ignored my typed special request. While poke bros has all the standard ingredients for poke, they really don't have anything very interesting.
