    Chicken pad see ew
    Gene K.

Huge menu with all different kinds of foods....you walk in and order at the counter, which I don't like. You pay and leave a tip?? I don't know if we'll get good service ahead of time...Mongolian beef was very tender, good flavor, a little too sweet for me. Chicken pad see ew was very good, good amount of chicken. Plenty of parking in front. Large dining area.

I know, I know I'm back AGAIN!! lol. My order this time was shrimp dumplings, pork belly buns, garlic pepper steak with fried rice, chicken and steak hibachi. Everything was full of flavor, fresh and delicious!! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

    Shrimp w/ Mixed Veges

Best Asian food in the Asheville 'burbs. Attached to an Asian market. Super fresh, great presentation. Most Chinese places get their supplies from the same distribution place (they also have the same pictures up on the wall of the dishes)... NOT this place. Original dishes done really well. I had the Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables. Shrimp were large and veges fresh. My husband had the Hibachi chicken... so much food, we took leftovers home. Can't wait to have lunch at this place for the Bento box!

Any time a non-American restaurant is connected to a grocery store, is a good sign that the food will be good. The food all came out fresh hot and delicious. And the service was quick. The space was clean, bright, and welcoming. I got a ramen, tea, and seaweed salad. It all had the flavors you want when ordering those items. I'll be back!

    Wild Salmon Poke Bowl

The sweet girl cashier greeted me with a smile immediately after I walked in. I got the Wild Salmon Poke Bowl, and it is SO YUMMY! I've been shopping at the asian market next door for a little while and I'm so glad I stopped in Mizu today for lunch. Definitely the best Asian food I've had in Asheville. Being able to shop around the store next door for drinks/groceries while you wait is also so fun!

    Pad see ew with tofu
    Carly P.

Give it a try! We have placed two carry-out orders, and both have been great! The first round we tried the red curry with tofu, and while we put a note in the comments to make it mild, we both ended up with cleared sinuses from the spice! The flavor and consistency was perfect, though. The second order was for pad see ew with tofu. Mildly sweet and not overly sauced, the tofu was perfectly cooked and the veggies were crunchy and fresh. The counter staff were kind and efficient.

Good food, generous portions and priced right. Most people do take out but there are plenty of tables to have your food and eat there.

I was relieved to see they had a parking lot with free parking though since my prior 2 days in Asheville I struggled to find parking everywhere I tried to go. We ordered 2 create your own poke bowls with the 3 proteins. When I saw what was classified as "protein," I was disappointed because although they had a lot of options for protein, the menu only allowed for an option of 2 or 3 protein per bowl. I'm not sure if I could've asked for more, but I just went by the menu and ordered 3. But I had a hard time selecting because there was multiple proteins I wanted. I was able to rule out scallop which I normally ordered because theirs looked incredibly dry though. I also wanted to order spicy crabmeat which is another usual, but most poke places do not consider that a protein and it comes as a complimentary topping usually so I was disappointed I couldn't order that here as it would've counted as my protein. I decided on spicy salmon, salmon, and spicy tuna. In the end, I was pleased with my choices and bowl. They allow you to choose as many mix ins as you want (at least 10 options)- I think I picked all but 3 of them. They have a variety of sauces- again, I think 10 different ones. They were unique sauces that I hadn't seen before at other places as well. I went with siracha aioli and sweet shoyu. I had to ask for a little of each since they are generous with the sauce. My husband and I shared a bowl and it was enough for both of us. The ingredients tasted and looked very fresh. They give very generous portions of fish. Probably the most I've ever been given on my poke bowl, actually. My sister ordered the scallop despite it looking dry and she said it was actually not bad as well. We were all quite pleased with our bowls and definitely would come back!

I wasn't starving so I had a kid's size poke salad, it was delicious with all the toppings I chose, and I wasn't bloated when I left. I had the spicy crab as my protein and liked it. Everything I had was fresh and they fixed it up fast. Can't complain! I got to try Cheerwine off the soda fountain for the first time, that stuff is good. I mixed it with diet pepsi to keep from drinking too much sugar.

We walked in without a reservation, sat down, and had the kind of long, unhurried dinner that feels increasingly rare. Nobody rushed us. They let us share plates without hesitation. The menu is billed as New American, and that's the right phrase for it -- genuinely eclectic, pulling from Spanish, French bistro, and Southern influences without committing to any one of them. The pork chop was excellent. The grilled carrots were genuinely memorable. The green salad was simple and well done. Our waiter recommended a wine that we were pleased with, and even offered a tasting. The wine list is deep for a room this size, and the cocktail list looks the same. Music was at that sweet-spot volume where you can hear your conversation partner and still hear the song. You could bring your parents, or come on a date, it works either way. Some farm-to-table places feel pretentious; this one doesn't. They don't make you feel dumb for not knowing every local distributor. One small gripe: a 3% "kitchen staff fee" printed on the back of the menu. I'm all for paying the kitchen, but I'd rather see it built into the prices up front. 4.7 Stars. What would push it to a solid five stars: drop the hidden fee and bake it into the menu prices. That's genuinely the only thing standing between this and a perfect night out.

Local ingredients and really good food. A nutty amuse bouche to start the night. Beets and pickled apples were interesting in a good way. Cheddar onion rye sourdough was adequately sour and warm, on the dense side. Trout was super moist and the mustard sauce complimented it very well. One of the better fish dishes I've had in NC. Also tried some of the pork chop (very tender & great sauce) and mushroom risotto (herby and great flavors on the mushrooms).

A friend has brought me here a couple times - once to dine in on the patio with her dog, and once for takeout - and it's been just delightful both times. The dining in experience was a Monday lunch and very quiet while the takeout was a Sunday evening and much busier. Despite the takeout situation, I opted for southern fried chicken most recently and was really delighted with the meal. The collards were well seasoned, the cornbread was huge, the slaw was slaw (though nothing to write home about, it's hard to make slaw that's worth writing about), and the chicken was well breaded, not overcooked, and still kinda crunchy despite its steam bath. I might have had the southern fried chicken plate the first time too, come to think of it... it's just impossible to find well done Southern food in the west, so I can't pass it up! The patio has nice seating options including a couple coveted tables in the shade. They are all pretty huge picnic tables so you may end up sharing if it's busy, but that's kinda the vibe here. There are dog water bowls and ice water for the pups in the summertime. Regarding vibes, it's right up my alley with servers rocking hairy armpits and tattoos all over the place. If you're a little more physically conservative you may be a bit put off, but I'd encourage you to try it out anyway.

The staff were extremely helpful. I mentioned I was looking for vegetarian options, and the bar tender thoughtfully guided me through the various options on both the tapas and ramen menus. That made for a great experience. In terms of the food, I opted for the miso eggplant and the garlic butter broccoli. Both were excellent. The miso eggplant is served as well cooked Japanese eggplant with a light tempura treatment and somewhat sweet miso glaze. Not too heavy, but still delicious and nicely textured. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. It made for a nice pairing. In terms of beer, they had a few different local beers on tap. I went for a local pale ale. Great. In any case, this place is highly recommended. I suspect their vegetarian ramen would probably be pretty good, but that was a little heavier than what I was looking for.
