    Combination #3

We dined in for lunar new year. Our server was really affable and welcoming. He checked on us multiple times and met our dining needs. The gumbo was delicious and very flavorful. Surprisingly, better than most places in the Sac area. It didn't bother me that there was only a small portion of steamed rice as we had other seafood items to feast on. I love the fried Dungeness crab with salt and pepper. Definitely ordering these 2 items on my next visit. We also ordered the #3 combo with snow crab, shrimp, muscles, and clams. The garlic butter sauce was very light and could use more seasoning. I'll order this again; however, with a different sauce. The garlic noodles were so good. It was buttery and garlicky in every bite. I love that the shrimp was slightly battered. Overall, I had a great dinning experience.

I posted a review about 12 months ago & I had to do another one. Just like the first time, the food was super delicious and I did not know there was a location in Roseville! I haven't been to the Roseville one, I will post a review about that one when I do. I went with my sister again & we were not disappointed, the staff was super friendly per usual and really took care of us! The restaurant was super clean and spotless. We went during the start of lunch and it was not busy at all, we were literally the only ones in there which was awesome because we didn't have to wait for our food. I didn't get a picture of the Combo #1 that I preferred but you can never go wrong with a seafood boil, Mongolian beef, and garlic noodles.

Our eyes were bigger than our bellies... We came during Happy Hour and we ordered the following. HH was 25% off 8 Piece Fried Pot Stickers HH 8 Piece Fried Chicken Wings Fish n Chips Basket House Chow Mein (2) 4 Piece Vegetable Eggrolls HH Fried Mushrooms HH (2) Garlic Noodles Steamed Rice (2) 8 Piece Fried Crab Meat & Cheese Wontons HH Fried Pork Chops Onion Rings HH Sprite ... and that's just between the three of us! Did I miss anything? We had so much food that we needed an additional table as an extension to our table for 4. Everything was delicious. I loved the chicken wings (lemon pepper, my favorite rub), and the savory salt & pepper fried pork chops. The restaurant is clean with spacious seating between tables. Very reasonable prices. Great customer service by owner, Vincent, and his staff. Amazing support, means happy customers. I'm just sad that I didn't discover this place sooner. Gratitude to friends for the spontaneous last minute invite! I brought home so much leftovers that they were enjoyed by two more family members in my household. Thank you, Vince! Review #3223

Always been one of the best seafood places. Fried oysters, shrimp fish. Clam chowder full of flavor. Crab boils are amazing & reasonably priced. The staff is very patient & catering to your needs, service is fast. The place is nice & clean & plenty of room to bring the whole family. It's a must try

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. Decently busy but no wait which was nice. They had the football games playing which is a plus. We order a combo 2 which came with sooo many shrimp, clams, oysters, crawfish, potatoes, sausage, corn, and boiled eggs. I couldn't finish it all but it was delicious and such a good quantity for the price. We also got fried pork chops, absolutely amazing! Fish n chips were good. The service was quick. This is the best location we have been too, will be back

Great food and service. One of the original crab boils in Sacramento that offers true Southern flavor. Their sauce is an actual sauce that's thicker with layers of flavors. Variety of deep fried goodness and quality of the food will not disappoint!!! Their chicken wings, pork chops and fish n chips are amazing. Must try!!!

I have enjoyed the seafood and other yummy dishes in Asian N Cajun many times. They make Cajun-style seafood with an Asian influence. It makes the seafood even more delicious. They have other yummy foods like egg rolls, Cajun garlic fries, fried pot stickers, Cajun chowder, garlic noodles, etc. It's all super yummy! The seafood I like is mussels, shrimp, King crab legs, and clams. You can choose the sauce and spicy level. Asian N Cajun even has the Chinese lunch with fried rice and chow mein available. Perfect if you're looking for a quick yummy lunch. The dining room is comfortable and good space between tables. The customer service at Asian N Cajun is excellent.

A group of friends and I met up for dinner at Asian N Cajun one night. Parking wasn't fun that night but I ended up finding a spot a little ways down and walked over. Upon arriving part of the group was already there and we were seated immediately. While we waited for the others we took a look at our menus. I wasn't feeling seafood that day so I decided to get the chicken wings and some garlic noodles. Once everyone was there and everyone had a chance to take a look at the menu, we ordered. First they brought us some shrimp chips, which were super warm. So gooooood. Getting into conversations, I don't even know how long it took for our food to start coming out. It was pretty fast though. My food was super fresh and them garlic noodles were so fire. Everyone else's food looked good too and it seems like everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I previously tried this restaurant and got the #3 boil. Their sauce is bombdotcom. I would literally use that sauce on everything if I could. Definitely try the shrimp chips in that sauce. lol Overall food was good, staff is great, restaurant is clean. Also the owner is super nice as well. Would I come back? Absolutely. I got more stuff on the menu that I want to try!

It is a very casual setup, so do not expect an elevated dining experience. We ordered the FOB shrimp and the Chicken Katsu plate. The shrimp arrived a bit too sour and noticeably greasy for my taste. The Chicken Katsu was average and lacked the flavor and crispness I was hoping for. The macaroni and cheese that came with it was also quite dry, which made the plate feel incomplete. Service is minimal since you order at the counter and pick up your food yourself. I went in with high expectations and left feeling disappointed, especially considering how popular the place seems to be. That said, I am still open to giving it another try. There are a few other dishes on the menu that look promising, and I hope they will deliver a better impression on my next visit.

Honestly, I'm so…read moresad it's been so long since my last visit, because this place serves up some amazing food. The menu changes depending on what they're making, but they have certain items that are pretty consistent. One of those is poke. I LOVE their poke here, they have their own seasoned poke mix with fresh fish, veggies and sauce and it is delicious. They offer it as nachos, a bowl, or loaded fries and while I'm tempted to try some of the other options the bowl is my go-to. The poke bowl is $15 and comes with rice with furikake as well as a good portion of poke. Like I mentioned, it's preseasoned and it delicious. The ingredients are fresh and I love their flavor combination. I would love if the bowl came with a scoop of mac salad, but with the portion at this price I'm happy to add it as a side. I ordered the spring rolls ($4) and it came with five pieces of crispy and flavorful fried spring rolls. Great value for the price. I also ordered the pork laulau ($14) and Musubi ($3) for my husband and the portions on these were also great. The musubi was hot and flavorful and they gave me some FOB sauce with the musubi that went surprising well together. The laulau plate had mac salad, rice, and the wrapped pork. The pork was fattier than some of the laulau I've had in Hawaii, but was flavorful and the whole plate was a perfect portion for the price. The team working here was very friendly and helped me get in and out with my to-go order pretty quickly. The food was packed with care and made it home and was still nice and hot after the drive. They use high quality to-go containers and line them with aluminum foil which is a nice touch. They also made sure the vents were open on the spring rolls so they'd stay crispy. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some outdoor seating. This restaurant is a bit tucked away, but has plenty of parking. I will definitely be back, and I won't wait as long between visits, because the food is so good! Check out their instagram for specials.

The broth was a delightful and tangy sweet and sour broth filled with mushrooms and other vegetables and shrimp, squid, and scallops. I added some rice which balanced out the sourness if the soup perfectly! The squid was a bit chewy but the shrimp and scallops were good. The cherry tomatoes - red and gold - retained their yummy flavors and added to the fullness of the broth. Overall, a very delicious bowl! My only complaint - wish the music had been a bit lower. This had been a big reason I hadn't stopped in before... parking can be hard downtown but I've learned it's worth a walk even if you have to park a few street over. I was told the green Thai tea ($6) here is delicious so we both eagerly ordered one to enjoy during the meal. They were served in larger carafes and it's so satisfying to stir before taking your first sip. Definitely a great portion for the price. We wanted to explore the menu so we ordered a variety of items to share, knowing we'd be taking home leftovers. We ordered the Green Curry ($17), Lao Pho ($18), Pas See Ew ($17), and pineapple fried rice ($19). It was truly a feast. All the dishes had a generous portion size and our server made sure we had extra bowls and plates to share the pho and other dishes. My personal favorites were the pad see ew and Lao pho, the noodles in the pad see ew were delicious and I always like eating this as fresh as possible so the noodles are steaming hot. The pho broth had great flavor and I loved that this Lao version had tomatoes in it. The meat in the pho was also delicious. The pineapple fried rice is a customer favorite, but didn't blow me away. I tend to like savory and spicy more than sweet and savory, so this could by why. The Green Curry was a bit too thin for my preferences, I like a thick curry. It was tasty though and I'm glad I gave it a try. I would definitely stop in again to try more of the menu, and when we stopped in the Lao sausage was sold out, so I'd definitely order it next time if they have it.

Both times, he was assured and guaranteed that the food he was being served was halal. Despite those assurances, he was served pork and had already eaten several bites before realizing what had happened. What made the situation even worse was how the staff handled it afterward. When he brought the issue to their attention, instead of receiving a sincere apology and an immediate effort to correct the mistake, he felt dismissed and embarrassed. He also told me that staff members were laughing in the kitchen while the situation was being discussed, and other patrons began laughing as well. He was left feeling mocked and humiliated over a religious dietary restriction that he had clearly communicated more than once. He was also still expected to pay for the meal. If a customer specifically asks twice whether food meets a religious dietary requirement, is assured that it does, and is then served something that directly violates that restriction, management should at the very least apologize, remove the affected food from the bill, and make a genuine effort to make things right. That did not happen here. For someone who follows halal dietary requirements, being served pork is not a minor inconvenience or simply receiving the wrong order. It is a serious religious issue. If the restaurant cannot guarantee halal food, that should be communicated clearly and honestly before a customer orders. What should never happen is assuring someone that the food is halal, serving them pork anyway, and then treating their concern like something to laugh about. Based on what my brother described, the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable and deeply unwelcoming.

"The Night I Broke Keto... And I Regret Nothing "…read more So my wife and I were sitting there trying to figure out where in the world we wanted to eat. Honestly, at that moment I could've gone for just about anything. We had managed to escape the kids for a little bit, and with our 15th anniversary tomorrow, we figured we deserved a little break from reality. Long story short... Then long again... BEHOLD... BONCHON. We walked in and immediately got that subtle, low-key "you just found a hidden gem" kind of vibe. Nothing overly flashy, just a nice, chill atmosphere that makes you feel like you discovered something the rest of the neighborhood hasn't figured out yet. We got seated and the service started off great. Everyone was nice, attentive, waters came out quickly, and then... THE REAL CHALLENGE BEGAN. What the heck are we gonna eat?! Everything on that menu looked and sounded . Now, for those who know me, I've been doing keto. I've been trying to stay disciplined and make better choices. But tonight? Not tonight. Tonight I was a FREE MAN. My wife ordered her food, looked over at me with that concerned wife look like, "Are you sure about this?" Ma'am... I had already made peace with my decisions. I added the wings and then ordered that big ol' Bap-something bowl with bulgogi -- and if I butchered the name, just know it was DELICIOUS. Then the food started arriving. And I gotta give them credit -- it wasn't a long wait at all. My wife's food came out first. Then... THE WINGS. And then came the main event. This bowl came out SIZZLING like it had been sitting over an open flame. TSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I think that's the correct spelling for the sound. The young man serving it said: "Be careful, it's extremely hot." Brother... I dove into that bowl like I had signed a waiver saying Bonchon was no longer responsible for what happened next. And let me tell you... IT WAS FIRE. Beef, spinach (I think ), carrots, mushrooms, eggs... ...and then... RIIIIIIICE. Oh, rice... HOW I MISSED YOU. It had been so long. I was scooping rice, grabbing a bite of beef, hitting a wing, back to the bowl, back to a wing... At this point I wasn't eating. I WAS MR. MCGRUBBIN. I absolutely demolished that bowl. But before I went completely crazy on the rest of those wings, I thought... "Wait a minute... where's the spice?" So I called over my guy and asked for some hot sauce. He hits me with: "Sriracha or our house spice?" I said, "How spicy is the house sauce?" This man gave me the face... Immediately I said: "Bring it." I dipped my pinky in that sauce like I was a detective conducting a highly classified investigation. One taste. PURE. I poured that sauce over the rest of my food and immediately learned an important lesson: DO NOT INHALE WHILE EATING THAT SAUCE. That pepper will reach down into your throat and remind you that actions have consequences. I gave my guy the like: "You've done well, young Samurai." I told him the sauce was fire and jokingly said: "Man, this is like water." Meanwhile, my mouth was fighting for its life. But did I let them see me struggle? Absolutely not. I maintained my composure like a warrior. I couldn't finish all the wings, so of course I took the hot sauce to-go because apparently I had decided that tomorrow's battle was already scheduled. Overall, Bonchon was a great little anniversary-eve discovery. Good food, friendly service, attentive staff, reasonable wait, and flavors that definitely woke me up. And yes... I broke keto. But listen... It's our 15th anniversary. Sometimes you gotta put the chicken breast down, pick the rice back up, and just LIVE A LITTLE. Bonchon -- you got me tonight. And that house sauce? I'll be back for you. 5 stars from me!

We got ourselves a hotel room, dressed up, went out to dinner, and were just genuinely excited to sit down and eat some good food without somebody needing something every five minutes. I got the Bulgogi Bento, which came with the beef over rice, and I added a side of teriyaki sauce because I wanted a little extra flavor with it. The beef and rice were exactly what I was craving. I had originally been thinking about sushi, but honestly? That bowl of beef and rice was exactly what I needed. We also got the 10-piece Korean fried chicken wings, and those were SO good. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely worth getting. Sean got one of the dishes served in a sizzling hot bowl, and I thought that was so cool. The bowl stayed sizzling at the table, almost like the bowl itself was the hot plate. His came with one of their really spicy sauces, and he loved it. It looked and smelled incredible. But honestly, one of my favorite parts of the whole dinner was what happened after the food came. We were sitting there talking about how good everything was, and then we just... stopped talking. We were both quietly eating, looking at each other every now and then like, "Hell yeah. This is good." The staff kept coming by asking if we were okay because apparently we looked suspiciously quiet. And we were like, "YES! We promise! We're good!" We were just two parents who finally got a break, dressed up for our anniversary, sitting in peace and absolutely enjoying our food. It was actually kind of funny because we probably looked way fancier than we felt. Underneath the nice clothes, we were still just two tired parents thinking, "Nobody needs anything from us right now. Let us eat." The food was excellent, the presentation was fun, and the whole experience made our anniversary dinner feel special without needing to be overly fancy. Five stars from me. I came in wanting sushi, left extremely happy with beef and rice, and that's how you know the food was good. Definitely a place I'd come back to. I didn't mention but the place was also cute and quiet !

Now unfortunately I did have to dock 1 star purely for the food because I would love for this restaurant to keep thriving and I would be so happy to come back again and give a higher rating! I'm a long term fan of Kru and Kodaiko so I was really excited for Chu Mai. My first time, I ordered the lobster shrimp cheong fun and this was bougie dish that I enjoyed! We also ordered the laksa pasta which was a seasonal item (unknownst to me) and even though our kind server told us it was spicy, my friend's and I were thinking we eat spicy korean food all the time, it'll be fine. It was not fine, it was really spicy BUT it was delicious. Picture 3 asian visibly sweating and going back for more while downing copious amount of water and eating the roasted cabbage as a palete/spice cleanser. I actually took some of the pasta home to share with my partner who also thought the flavor was sooo good and wanted to come here for our anniversary. I totally forgot to write a review back then, because I would have suggested an option small cup of coconut milk or broth that people can mix to make the curry less spicy. Now for our anniversary dinner, I want to restate, service was impeccable! They went above and beyond! I really enjoyed the Cà Ri Khaoi Taylor, I love me crispy potatoes! But unfortunately the Bún Riêu not only came a bit later than expected. It was also slightly undercooked so it made for a harder mouthful when I bit into the dry/raw pasta parts. Our amazing server offered to change the dish and we took the lobster dandan noodles to go since we were on a time crunch, so I didnt really eat the noodles super fresh. It was good but it didnt have the kick and enticing flavor that the laksha curry pasta had. So I mainly wanted to come here and praise the servers, but also bring up that yes the laksa pasta back! We can handle the spice!!

Date night this week took us to Captain Crab , and this was our first time here! Let me just say…read more.. it did NOT disappoint! To start, the service was great. Right when you walk in, everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was a busy Saturday evening, but we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was also so friendly, and our food came out FAST and piping hot! In our past experiences at other crab boil restaurants, it can take forever just to get a table, let alone get your food. So we really appreciated how quickly everything came out here! Now, THE FOOD! My hubby and I both got the Dungeness crab with the mild Cajun & garlic butter seasoning. It came with potatoes and corn, and we also added a side of rice and the Cajun fries. The seasoning was SO good! It had plenty of flavor without being overly salty. The crab was delicious and cooked perfectly. And those Cajun fries?! They were super crispy and seasoned to perfection! The only thing I would have changed was that we weren't given any crab crackers or tools to help us get into the crab. We actually thought they didn't have any at first. We later asked and were provided with some, but it would have been nice if they were offered or brought out with our gloves and bibs since we ordered crab. Other than that, I really enjoyed our experience! I especially loved that the restaurant has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to some other crab boil spots. The seats were comfortable, the music wasn't extremely loud, and it still had a fun vibe while being quiet enough for us to actually have a conversation. Overall, I'm giving Captain Crab a 10/10! We'll definitely be back!
