The unagi don is really good! The eel is fatty, tender, and warm with plenty of sweet unagi sauce. I like the pieces of tamago and radish that come with the dish. It also comes with a miso soup on the side. It took only 5-10 minutes to come out. Really nice spot to get a quick lunch downtown. There are a few tables at the bottom and more seating upstairs. It's a fast-casual spot that's consistent and reliable for poke bowls, rice bowls, and soup. There's street parking on the same street, but it's downtown prices ($7/hr). They have plenty of vegetarian options as well.

The service and ordering is straight forward and quick. They have an upstairs area in addition to main floor seating. They have lots of natural lighting so it's a nice ambiance. It is a reasonable price for the amount I got. I ordered a build your own bowl with extras such as avocado. Utensils and free water are self serve. Wifi is also available.

Came here with my parents for a quick lunch and didn't expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised! The food is fresh, tasty, reasonably priced, with fast excellent service. My mom and wife got two of their premade poke bowls (Tsukiji bowl and Kuromon bowl) and I built my own- they all had a good portion of fish that I thought was definitely worth especially compared to other places where you might get a little scoop for the same price, toppings were fresh and the sauces were savory and tasty but not overpowering. The biggest surprise though was the braised beef noodle soup my dad got- it was hearty, full of deep savory beef flavor, not too salty, with big chunks of perfectly braised tender fall apart beef. My mom is a big soup critic and even she enjoyed it. For a poke place, it's one thing to have things like beef noodle soup or ramen, but it's a whole nother level of impressive that they actually nail the soup. Consider the prices of everything else downtown, like paying $18 for a sandwich or $20 for pancakes, I'd say Poke Poke is more than worth a visit!

It's the best ramen in town! We were craving ramen that day and my husband was a bit skeptical about having ramen at the poke place but he concluded this is the best ramen in Chicago. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. However, I wish they cleaned the high chair from time to time. It is so dirty that I couldn't put my child in there. We tried the miso ramen, which has excellent tonkotsu, the broth was well-balanced and we loved the soft eggs in there. The Braised beef noodles were so good too. Generous portion of braised beef, and wonderful flavor in the broth. We were both so satisfied with the noodles. They do seem have a dedicated person cooking noodles only and we are so glad we give this place a try!

The poke here is really good! I got a build your own bowl with double salmon and spicy tuna, and the fish was fresh. I ordered mild for the spice level, and it was pretty spicy. I chose half rice and half mixed greens. For the sauces, I chose spicy mayo and roasted sesame, which tasted amazing together. I wanted extra sesame sauce, but I had to pay $1. I would come back here again!

A good place for a quick meal fix! Reasonable price. It was quite filling for me but the Ramen portion size was a bit small for my husband. So maybe I'd recommend to order a side + main. Service was quick. Ambiance was good, like a normal fast food joint.

Got the braised beef noodle soup for lunch. Someone told me the braised beef would be more flavorful than the beef brisket option. Glad I got the more flavorful beef option because it did not have that much flavor and was a bit chewy. I wish they put more bok choy pieces in these soups. The noodles and broth were tasty. I went back and had the 5 scoop build your own poke bowl for dinner. There were a couple pieces that did not taste so fresh. Limited selection of toppings compared to poke places in San Diego. Overall not bad. There are three levels of small seating areas. Friendly staff.

Absolutely love this place. Works well for grabbing food to go and also to dine in. There's an upstairs seating area despite the small storefront-like lower floor. Also can order ahead online. Fish has tasted fresh all three times I've gone. Each regular bowl comes with 3 proteins and 8 toppings, and they give a decent portion size compared to other poke restaurants. 10% discount for students. Service was fast and workers were all patient and nice.

Hands down absolutely delicious poké - good price for the amount you get as well. There's three floors in this small corner store to sit so plenty of seating if you want to dine in. Metal water cups and a water dispenser available for self service. The ladies at the front taking everyone's order are very nice and efficient, but a little soft spoken so I couldn't hear them. Overall amazing.

Not sure why the reviews are great. Portion size is fine, but quality isn't there. Fish had a weird taste and the rice is plain white rice - not sushi rice over seasoned with vinegar.

This place opened up last year in my neighborhood and I'm so happy it did! I've been back 5-6x since. The lady serving the Poke bar was so sweet. I decided to build my own bowl: multiple base selections (I was surprised), up to 3 proteins, and up to 8 toppings . Insane deal for $13.50. Always can't wait to come back!!!

Students get 10% off here!! The food is amazing plus a lot of seating options! I got the Poke bowl, gyozas and Osaka bowl. Was delicious! Super friendly staff and can help with recommendations too! If you get the Poke, do not skip out on the purple rice, good stuff!

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

This place is special!…read more Immediately transported me back to Osaka when I walked in. Was at Taste of Randolph with a big group of friends and had to sneak off for a solo mission to get Okonomiyaki! Even though everywhere was insanely busy the host at Gaijin was so accommodating and sat me at the Chef's table. I was on a slight time restraint so I wasn't gone too long before my friends realized I was missing. The waitress was so nice and I was able to put in an order for a Highball and Pork Okonomiyaki very fast. Sipping on a Highball while watching the food cooking up in the kitchen captured the exact vibe I missed from Japan. The Pork Okonomiyaki was unreal! A taste and quality I never thought I would be able to get back home. Sweet, Savory, Umami, all the flavors that make them so addictive. I can't wait to return and bring friends. They have Hiroshima style with the yakisoba which I also miss from my travels there. We are going to have to order multiple of everything. & MUST try their donuts, they look dangerously good.

The matcha kakkigori also wasn't shaved fine enough to keep the ice from melting into Hawaiian style shaved ice. The Osaka style beef and traditional Hiroshima style yaki saved the meal enough to enjoy ourselves though, and were very flavorful. The restaurant itself is tucked right behind Morgan station but is so much bigger inside. The furniture and even dishware also felt like they were picked very intentionally to complement the grilling plates. The layout of the restaurant means it can be great for really any kind of occasion or group size.

I was seated at a table and they brought out water right away. But that's where the service stopped. I was handed 3 menus... food, drinks, cocktail. It took forever to get one of the servers to come over and take my order. They were all huddled by the kitchen and hostess stand chatting with each other and on their cell phones. Finally one of them walked by my table and I had to get her attention and told her I would like to order. She brought out the iPad then looked around seeing if someone else should probably take the order. I felt I inconvenienced her. Got the tonkatsu shoyu ramen with black garlic and the takoyaki. Food came out fast. Takoyaki after the ramen but the takoyaki was delicious. Soft and creamy on the inside with the octopus was very tender. It was topped with plenty of katsuoboshi. Ramen was another story. Noodles had a really good chew as they advertised using sun noodle company. However the broth tasted very watered down and did not have the rich flavor and usually fat globules that make the soup. Cha siu was charred beautifully and portion size was good. Hopefully they can focus on the front of house service and the team can pay attention to customers. Maybe this is why there were only 6 customers at prime dinner time.

Terrible. I am honestly not sure how people are recommending this place. I was excited to come here…read moreand had very high expectations, but unfortunately the food was extremely disappointing. Let's start from the beginning: the bone marrow. What on earth was going on? Why would you cover bone marrow with fig, bacon, and so much cilantro? Bone marrow is a delicate dish. You are supposed to taste the richness and subtle flavor of the marrow itself. The cilantro completely overpowered it, and the fig and bacon made it even worse. Chef, where did you train? This dish made no sense. Then came the agnolotti. I have no words. Just look at the photo: full of oil. I mean completely swimming in oil. Then the chitarra with seafood. Horrible. Spicy for no reason. Again, why are you trying to cover the ingredients instead of letting them speak for themselves? Also, the fish tasted frozen, not fresh. The pork belly, supposedly the signature dish, was another disappointment. Again, so much sauce that the actual flavor of the pork belly was completely lost. The staff were nice, the ambiance was okay, and the wine selection was good. But please, stop covering the taste of the food you cook. If you need to hide the ingredients under excessive sauce, spice, cilantro, oil, bacon, or sweetness, the only explanation is that the ingredients are not good enough on their own. I will not be coming back. Not even for free. Sorry. PS. Why so much bread on each dish? So much buttery horrible bread that you will trash, because it's impossible to eat all of it.
