I go to the Poke Poke about one or twice every year. If you're vegan and looking for a quick taste bite stop on in to Poke Poke. The Dearborn location is always pretty clean, and the food is usually pretty fresh (there have been a time or two where I got some of the fixings that were not as fresh as they should've been). The service is also usually pretty good too. Most of the workers are pretty friendly, but every so often you get one that isn't too social or gives good portions. Overall though this place is pretty consistent with good food and service. read more

I work in the same building as Poke Poke. Good unrolled sushi. I love the Tuna Lover's and the Dynamite Bowls! The food tastes fresh and it's a generous helping of expensive items for the price. The service can be a bit hit-or-miss (at times disinterested and not paying attention if you walk in when there's not a line, we've had to wait for the staff to finish a video game or a phone call a couple of times). I have had "digestive issues" 3 of the 4 times I've eaten there. I polled my four coworkers with whom I've eaten at Poke Poke, and they're at or above 75% as well. I think there is something here maybe not kept at the right chilled temperature to be served raw. read more

I love poke. I love sushi. I freaking love raw fish and all it's accompaniments. I am not a newbie to this type of place by a long shot. This was not stellar. I did take out. I got a large bowl. Of rice. Like pounds of rice. Barely any fish. Skimpy on extras. Just tons of rice and plenty of wasabi soy and spicy mayo. It tasted ok and was filling because hey the sauces are tasty and rice is very filling. I got miniscule pieces of salmon and tuna a few shreds of my extra for crab salad. A ton of cucumbers, a kiss of green onion and whispers of masago and cilantro. This was topped by a complete blast of furikake. No sense of balance whatsoever. Poke Poke is similar to a sushi restaurant but instead of sushi rolls, you're ordering a sushi bowl. Prices begin around $12, which is fair considering that's the price of a couple basic sushi rolls, or the standard price for a single fancy roll. Their website is so incredibly intuitive! You can order online and customize your dish to your exact desires, or you can choose one of their recipes. My husband and I decided on create-your-own bowls. I ordered a dish with salmon and tuna, along with rice, edamame, corn and some sauces. I added avocado for $1.50 extra (totally worth it btw!) You can add extras on the website, pay online, then go and pick your order up. I wavered between ordering a regular size or large, and decided on regular. This proved to still be a great choice, as the portion size was fairly large and I had leftovers the next day. Everything in the bowl was fresh and tasty. We totally loved Poke Poke and can't wait to order again. We didn't order drinks, but they had a large variety to choose from, including fresh bubble tea and imported bevs. Hint: The only entrance is at the front of the building (Michigan Ave). You have to park on the side street or in the back. A little walk but totally worth it. For COVID-conscious consumers: the person who made my bowl kept removing their mask to speak to me, and when it was on, it was below the nose. I came here on my lunch you know what I'm saying, first thing I noticed when I ordered is when they opened the rice cooker, the white rice was burnt in some places. That's not good eats. The rest was ok. They didn't give very large portions of fish and the ingredients did not stand out in any way. The unagi sauce wasn't very flavorful and felt watered down. The service here is incredibly fast, and the poke bowls are delicious and fresh. They also have a boba milk tea booth on site, offering plenty of choices made fresh. I very nice girl named Julia took my order and helped me make my bowl. she had a very friemd/ bubbly personality and made the restaurant feel very warm and welcoming... I've walked past the Ann Arbor location numerous time always with the intention to come back and try it. When this location popped up in Dearborn, I couldn't resist it any longer. The bowls are priced super well, especially if you take into consideration that a local "special" sushi roll rings in between $10-$14. I ordered through DoorDash and the self built regular bowl starts at $12.95. The variety of options you have here are ENDLESS. I won't lie, I was slightly intimidated by all of the choices, half expecting it to taste terrible because I don't trust my cravings sometimes, but this is BEYOND delicious. I ended up choosing salmon and crab on a bed of brown rice with watermelon radish, mango, cucumber, red onion and cabbage, topped off with nori strips and avocado. I came here for the Boba Bar. I ordered a coconut milk tea with tapioca. It was alright. The tapioca kept sticking to each other in the drink which made it difficult to drink. Love, love, love! Even the regular size bowl is approximately the size of 2+ big sushi rolls and it's so filling. It's a 5 step process to built your own bowl. Here was mine - #1 (base) - White rice, #2 (meats) - Ahi tuna and Hawaiian salmon (max 2 options), #3 (veg) - Edamame, carrots, mango, avocado (slight upcharge for avocado, otherwise, no limit on the veg choices), #4 (sauce) - Citrus Ponzu sauce, #5 (toppings) - wasabi, crispy onion. It was everything I was hoping for it to be and then some, and it was only $11.95. That's about the price of a lower end specialty sushi roll. Honestly, other than wanting to try a difference sauce just for fun, I really wouldn't change a thing about my bowl, other than maybe add some salmon roe. It was so good that I've decided Poke Poke is going to be my go-to from now on when I go to Dearborn, which isn't very often. After 11 months, I ordered it again. Almost the same thing. The option kinda changed was you selected your proteins that SHOULD BE included in the price.
