They are known for their Poke Bowl, but I walked out with two Spam Musubi. The Spam Musubi is under the Specialty Item list. It was $3.99 for one, or two for $7. With tax it came out to $7.74, and I tipped $2 for the excellent service. Now the backstory: I only had 15 minutes to grab food and eat before running back next door for my appointment. I walked in and was greeted and helped instantly. I was helped by a female staff member with a blond pixie cut (if I remember correctly). I had been walking around in the sun, so when I walked into their store I felt pretty dizzy from the heat, and the board looked blurry to me. Therefore, I didn't even bother to look at the menu board. I told her I would need something quick, and I didn't have the stomach for a Poke Bowl. I asked her if she had any ramen. She kindly walked me through the different types of ramen instead of telling me to look at the menu board. I then picked the udon she mentioned. When she walked to the ramen station to make the udon, I checked whether that would leave me enough time to eat, since I only had 10 to 15 minutes. She said no, the udon would take a while. I asked, what about the ramen? Wouldn't that be quick, just adding water? She answered no, it would take the same amount of time. Then she mentioned the only quick one is the Poke Bowl, and I told her I wasn't feeling Poke at the time. She then gave me two other options, and one was the Spam Musubi. She stated those were premade and a quick bite. She asked how many I wanted. I checked if it came individually wrapped. She confirmed yes and told me the price of each, $3.99, or two for $7. I chose two. She grabbed them for me and rang me up. She asked if I needed chopsticks, and I nodded. I looked at her with a grateful heart and said, "Thank you for your patience." She smiled and said, "You're good." That was very nice of her to take her time with me. I will return and try their Poke Bowl next time. By the way, I cannot fully vouch for the Spam Musubi, because I was starving when I had them. I had been walking around Old Pasadena in the sun for hours with only a Pink Dragon in me. By the time I ate the Spam Musubi, I was starving and in a rush. They did satisfy the hunger. The Spam Musubi are a great choice for something quick, affordable, and easy to eat on the go. read more

Stumbled upon this place after a Yelp event at Lather, it was around lunch time so was hungry and love me some Poke bowls. Food tasted fresh and portion is generous except the protein scoops were a bit skimpy IMO for a Small bowl. You get 2 protein for a small bowl but portions are not great. Would opt to get Medium size next time. Will come back tho since food was good. I just love the "build your own" style. They had good options for dressings and toppings too. Parking can be a bit challenging, but there are garage and street parking around the area. Had a 3 min walk from where I parked NBD since the day was gorg ! $2 for an hour and half, had more than enough time left from the event. So that worked out. Staff were mediocre. My rating would be closer to a 3.5/5. Solid yet standard poke place -- generous portions (especially on the proteins) which is always a huge plus and seasoned just right with their sauces. Personally, I did not like their masago ( extra $2 for a small side) or their crabmeat. The masago was fishy and extremely salty which is not like any masago I've had in other stores. The crab was also different from other stores -- texture was closer to cottage cheese and taste was also stronger/fishier. I couldn't take more than a few bites of either item. Price was a bit steep starting at $15.99 for a small (two scoops) but with the amount of fish they give you it is passable. Service was friendly and quick on a Sunday afternoon. Their store is on the smaller side but it's clean, has lots of table, and is lit by natural light. I came on a somewhat busy Saturday afternoon, and despite the stress of the lunch rush, both Mac and Jessa were helpful and took care of us in such a polite, professional, and kind manner. The options are endless, and the large bowl, which is what me and my friend went for, is truly LARGE. It almost feels like two regular bowls at any other poke shop. I also liked that they have spam musubi, and if you check in with the Yelp app, you can get a free small bowl of miso soup, which pairs super well with, and is a great side dish for the poke bowl. I get the medium bowl always for $16.99 and it comes with 3 choices of protein. The seared albacore is my favorite and you can never go wrong with spicy tuna and shrimp. I like how crab meat is not extra either. I know some places count that as a protein. Toppings are all yummy. They give a lot of everything and don't skimp out on portion! Don't forget, if you check in on Yelp, they'll even throw in a free miso soup. The one thing that I dislike about this place is the location. Parking is hard to find around here, but there is a close by parking structure that charges only $1 for 2 hour parking. Most of the time, there's open spaces, but I would avoid weekends. I've been a customer here for more than 10 years. Normally this place would get a six on a scale of five. However, for the entire time, I have been a customer they have had available a discount card that gives you a free serving after 10 orders. This card has been eliminated by the owners during the past month or two, and seems to me to be the worst Customer Service decision imaginable. In addition, even the employees do not understand why this has been eliminated and they report that a many customers are not happy. As a result, my poke consumption will go elsewhere in Pasadena. The best spot for poke at such a great price in Pasadena! The fish and ingredients were fresh and they provide a lot of options/toppings to choose from. I got the small with a rice base and added a scoop of salmon and a scoop of spicy tuna. Toppings wise, I essentially put everything on it. I thought the portions were pretty generous and stuffed me up very quickly. She was also super sweet to ask if I cared if my bowl was aesthetic or not. I've had poke at a couple other spots in LA/626, but I think this place is most worth it. There's a parking garage nearby! Just be sure to park at the back-end of the garage for a closer walk to the place. The workers are super nice! It's a small shop, so there was only about 3 of them, but they were working hard.
