You have a choice of quinoa brown rice, white rice, half & half, salad, or poke burrito for your base. I selected a large to share with my niece and also got us some Miso soup. I was surprised that the bowl was much bigger than my usual Poke spot and cheaper too. The portions were generous, and they don't skimp on the toppings. I used to live in this area, but I moved to Hollywood about 5 years ago... and I will still make the drive out to here at least twice per month JUST for this poke. Wow! Amazing portions just like what other yelp reviewers mentioned only one tiny complaint was the temperature of the salad and cold items weren't icy cold like I'm used to like the one in Pasadena. I tried salmon and ahi tuna for my two proteins this time vs spicy tuna all the time. Service was great I had to wait a bit bc I think one of them was in training but didn't mess up my order. Very small place more for grab n go type setting after my Pilates class next door vs meeting someone to eat there for lunch which you could in the fall and winter but I think it would get too hot & crowded to do that in the summer. We got spicy tuna, salmon x2, scallop (for a total of 4 scoops for large size). I swear he gave us more than 4 scoops lol he kept packing it and I thought it would never end. I thought the quality wouldn't be so great since the amount given was so much, but no! All was perfect. I have no complaints about this place, I wish there was one in my area. However, they need better quality control and to keep the food station cleaner. There were pieces of salmon along the wall of the station and the guy just scooped it up to put in my bowl!! I've also seen them scoop off toppings that fell on the assembling area and into the bowl. Considering this is raw food, I am concerned. And for the sauces, it doesn't seem like they care at the slightest and just douse the poke with a bunch of sauce. They also just dump the crispy toppings all over the top, which is nice if you want a lot I suppose, but it just feels like they do not care. I'm surprised at how this mediocre poke place survives. The poke is of average quality, the sauces are of average flavors. The workers themselves aren't much better. One of the last straws for me was the way they prepared my sushi burrito. It started out like a normal poke bowl but with too much ponzu and shoyu and too much stuffing, the seaweed was unable to wrap around fully. Instead of wrapping the second seaweed paper over the seam of the first, he wrapped it the exact same way, sealing nothing. The poke was spilling out both ends. After wrangling the burrito together, he proceeded to dump the leftover poke on top, soaking the wrapping, seaweed, and sogging everything up. The Pasadena location is much better. Some sort of improvement is needed in the training at this location. read more
