I rarely eat poke because I'm not the biggest fan of raw fish, but this was GOOD. If I remember correctly, you can choose unlimited toppings & sauces, which is very nice for indecisive people!! I would come back

Food tasted amazing and there's a great variety of topings, bases, and fish. I asked for furikake instead of sesame seeds on my bowl but I don't mind. Otherwise the customer service was great and they were very friendly. Inside it's well air conditioned and the decor is very calming. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again!

As a poke enthusiast, I was pleased to find yet another great poke spot! Since I was sharing with my mom, I ordered a Medium bowl and it ended up being the perfect portion for the both of us. The staff was also really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Plus, everything was served super fast, so we got to start eating almost right away :)

Really good spot for Poke! The spicy tuna and albacore tasted so fresh and all the veggies were crisp. The sauces were good and it's good portion for the fish. Great place to stop by on a lunch break.

The portions are so generous here! Located right in the center of old town Pasadena is this locally owned poke shop. This is one of my favorite places to grab a casual lunch or dinner especially after doing some shopping nearby. The sushi quality here is solid, I'd give it a 8/10. The staff here are always so kind and will load up your bowl, so come hungry! Def worth checking out if you're in the area.

Poke Salad Bar is a locally owned business in the Old Town area of Pasadena. They serve poke bowls, poke burritos, and even some Korean dishes. Their small size is $14.99 (2 scoops of fish), their medium is $16.99 (3 scoops), and their large is $18.99 (4 scoops). We shared the medium with a base of brown rice with quinoa (they ran out of white rice) and one scoop each of salmon, ahi tuna, and spicy tuna. We then got our toppings, sides, and sauces mixed together and put in the bowl. Of the fish my favorite was the spicy tuna. I liked the seaweed salad, crab meat, and seaweed toppings. The portions were pretty good and were filling for the two of us to share.

Really good and fresh poke. It may look pricey at first glance; but I got a small and couldn't finish it. I only got as far as I did because I ordered salad instead of rice. If I'd gotten rice it would easily be two meals worth of poke. Great location near parking and other cute Colorado blvd things.

This is a nice little shop. Haven't seen many dedicated poke place around in years. Plenty of seats but you can also grab and go. The staff were nice. Pretty great serving sizes for the proteins. A good amount of selection of toppings. I got the small size and that was plenty. Everything taste great and fresh. I'd like to return again when in the area.

I've always enjoyed their poke bowls but I heard they had a poke burrito and I just had to go try. Employees were super welcoming and helpful and my burrito was so good. Their store is on the smaller side but it's clean, has lots of table, and is lit by natural light. I read an older review saying the burrito wasn't big but just one half of the burrito was enough to make me full for lunch. Probably the best thing I've ever eaten. It was so buss. Definitely recommend you try their poke burrito! For my poke burrito, I got cucumber, crab salad, seaweed, spicy tuna, salmon, chipotle mayo for sauce, and nori for the wrap! 10/10 recommend this when you're craving raw fish or you're just hungry

Really generous portions and tasty + fresh fish. Would come back for more. Price is very good as well for the bowls

Quick and easy ordering to build my own poke bowl with fresh and a variety of ingredients. They have plenty of seating inside but I took mine to go. They also make sushi rolls, nigiri, onigiri, and spam masubi. No complaints here.

Super generous portions, friendly employees, and a tasty, customizable - what's not to like? Stopped by here for a casual early dinner while in Old Town, and there was only one group ahead of ahead so ordering was quick. The medium size here could easily be a large at another place. The fish was fresh and I appreciated avocado being an included topping. There's a good amount of indoor seating. Credit cards accepted. They have other options like Korean dishes if you're not looking for poke. Self-service water.

Stopped by here on the way home from our road trip and despite the reviews, the food was disappointing. The rice they had was just regular white rice versus the sushi rice at most poke places. They give you a huge rice portion and not that much protein. The flavors aren't all there and everything tastes bland even with their special house sauce. Friendly service, I just wish the food was better.

The sauce I chose was ponzu sauce. I like the spice level of the spicy tuna. One side of the albacore was grilled which was surprising. It was $15.45 for the small bowl. The price seems reasonable. One employee asked if I'd like crab and seaweed salad. I said yeah. Crab is probably imitation crab. I like that the crab and seaweed salad are free. I don't think other poke bowl restaurants serve them for free. I like how the sauces and toppings are labeled on the display cases or glass. I didn't see the trash can so I asked an employee where I was supposed to place the tray and bowl. He said he could take it. Employees were kind. One employee said I'd be paying with cash since I had a $20 bill out. There are at least 4 tables inside. Music played through the speakers. Chairs were stools. A small plant was placed on each table. They seemed real. One table had 2 chairs on each side. Tables were grouped together. There are tables outside. Natural light filtered through the floor to ceiling windows. I could feel the AC inside.

Yama Sushi Marketplace is a small…read moreshop that is always packed with locals looking to satisfy their sushi cravings, and after my first visit, I can definitely see why. The store offers an impressive selection of Japanese goodies, including ramen, condiments, fresh sashimi, and a wide variety of sushi rolls. There are so many options and combinations to choose from. If you are looking for sashimi, head to the back of the store where they have conveniently packaged fish sold by the pound, and they will happily slice it for you. Or, if you are in a hurry, you can grab their freshly made sushi rolls from the refrigerators. On my visit, I picked up ahi tuna, toro, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, along with California rolls, tuna rolls, and salmon rolls. Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh with a buttery texture and amazing flavor. The quality of the fish and the perfectly seasoned sushi rice were so good that I barely needed any soy sauce or wasabi. I only recently discovered this hidden gem, but it has already become a place I will be visiting regularly. The sushi is high quality, reasonably priced, and absolutely delicious. Eventually I found out a few friends of mine have also gone for years and made their suggestions. As I didn't know what to expect I figured I'd go one day, which I did. Actually, it was about 3 weeks ago. I had driven by it but never stopped by which is crazy. At first glance you'd think the business is still closed and waiting to be opened but you have to drive to the back of the parking lot to enter the establishment. I couldn't decide which sushi I wanted so I got a few. It's cute and small on the inside but it's easy to find what you need and it's easy to see what you'd like to buy the next time you go! I can't wait to go back. The only thing I didn't like was their spam musubi, but it's not the end of the world! The sushi is still something I'm going back for!

One of my favorite things to get at Fish King is the plate with the swordfish skewers. This dish is honestly so unique, and I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. It's basically two shish-kebab style sticks of seasoned swordfish, peppers, and tomatoes, and it's served with a few sides in addition to fried veggies and shrimp. I also really enjoy their tacos. They also have very generous servings of poke (I personally don't get the poke from here because it's already mixed in with raw onions and I don't like raw onion). Prices are all very reasonable--the swordfish plate I mentioned earlier is around $15 and a pretty large amount of food. Fish King does get pretty busy especially around mealtimes so it's better to order in advance and pick up so that you don't have to wait around as long. I think if you order in person, you can expect a 20-30 min wait when it's busy. There's a small lot on the side of the market and sometimes you can find street parking too.
