"Poke Star Sushi" is located in the Marina Faire Shopping Center in San Leandro, CA. It's at the corner of Doolittle Drive & Fairway, next door to Subway Sandwiches. I tried this place on a weeknight just before closing. In fact, when I walked in the guy said they were closed. But he said if I ordered fast, they could quickly make it. So I scanned the menu, and I decided to get the- "Passion Salmon Roll" and a "Dragon Roll." As they made my rolls, they told me all about their business. He strongly suggested I order ahead of time using their website and come pickup my food. Those rolls were good. The ingredients were fresh and had no stale fishy smell. The presentation for takeout was neat and organized. This place is takeout or delivery only, as there's no dining room available. I don't know if they set up tables outside in the daytime. So why 4-stars? Because the restaurant looks untidy. The dining room is being used as a storage area, and there's stock everywhere. The restroom is not available to customers, so why not partition off that part of the restaurant so people can't see it? I'm not being picky! If a restaurant looks messy, that affects a customer's expectations. If you order delivery, this doesn't affect you. First off - they only have take out. This is fine but this should be advertised. We took two cars out here so everyone could fit in our party and then had to drive all the way back home to eat it. If we had known there was no seating inside we could have just had someone pick up the food and all the kids playing at home instead of dragging everyone over there and back for nothing. I ordered a build your own Poke bowl by filling out a paper with my selections. Prices are about average for what I usually see for these types of bowls now a days. Went to pick up the next day and it was a very easy process. The sashimi platter we got isn't online but in their store menu. So glad we got it because the sashimi pieces were huge! Some of my favorites are the tempura roll which stays nice and crunchy even after being packaged for a while. There's not much to say besides that it's a nice lunch stop if you spent the day by Marina park which is like a 3 minute drive away. The restaurant is mainly focused on rolls so don't get to excited on their lunchbox sets or bowls as it is kind of lacking. ~Quarantine Review~ I have never been to Poke Star Sushi prior to the lockdown, but I was really craving salmon and I wanted to get my poke fixing. I decided to try out the Yelp app to make an order for pickup and it was quick and easy to do. I paid via Apple Pay and Yelp gave me an estimated time for when the order would be ready for pickup. Once I got there, there was no lines and the store employee just handed my order over to me. My poke bowl was pretty good. I ordered it with salmon, yellowtail, and white tuna and all the other toppings. The only downside was that I ordered a half brown rice and half spring mix, but I didn't get the spring mix, maybe they were out of spring mix? And also, I wanted the garlic creamy poke sauce on the side to add on my own, but they just mixed it in already with the fish, which wasn't a big deal.
