Sometimes they cut the unagi into two pieces, sometime comes in one piece, perhaps depends on the chefs mood? I always pay extra for more broccoli because I like my veggies! I have to mentioned that they have have very good price for ramen. A Tonkatsu ramen bowl is only $13. It comes with a large piece of Tonkatsu on the side, which is nicely battered and deep fried perfectly each time I ordered them. But I didn't order them today. I've had not had their Bento boxes lately so I can't comment on that other than good price. I'm supposed that this place offers lunch menu items daily including weekend and holidays! This was a spread for 4 adults and we were very satisfied with our meal. I came here once before with a friend several years ago for lunch and liked it so I suggested it to my family. Experience: when we first were seated we were asked which beverages we wanted and were given time with the menu. The menu has a lot of pictures and I was worried that what we saw on the menu wasn't going to be what we got, but they are pretty accurate. The servers were nice and check up on us frequently which is good. The ambiance is relaxed with families as well as young and old couples. Food: Overall the quality of fish here taste pretty fresh and I love that they are not skimpy with the rolls. My parents really enjoyed the sauce that was paired with the Gorgeous roll. Came for Mother's Day today! This was my first time dining indoors in over a year, and it was way better than expected. The staff was all wearing masks, QR codes were provided to pull up the menu on our phones, hand sanitizer was provided at the cashier, and social distancing was enforced. Wow, this place really got a facelift during lockdown! I am in love with the addition of the cherry blossom decor hanging from the "trees" in the restaurant, and the giant painting of Mt Fuji on the giant wall. It really looked like new life was breathed into this place, and the new decor really added to the great experience of dining here. I treated my parents. My dad got salmon ramen, which looked absolutely DELICIOUS and I was a bit jelly and wanted ramen of my own. Maybe next time! My mom got a lunch special of pork katsu and tempura. I got a sashimi platter of tuna, salmon, hamachi, and albacore sashimi with miso soup and a salad. For the 3 of us, with tip, came out to about $75. This place is a gem! First of all, the interior is super cute. Next, the menu is the best menu I've ever seen. I love how the menu has huge pictures cause I love to see pictures of my food before I order. The food is really good. The snow dragon roll is the most unique roll I've had in a while. The sauce has honey mustard, which sounds weird, but it's so delicious. My new favorite roll! I also got the Raider roll, gyoza, baked mussels, and lion king. I went there Saturday night for a date night with my husband. I saw the questionable reviews, but decided to say screw it since this is the only Japanese restaurant in San Leandro that also has cool ambiance, and we couldn't be bothered to go to Oakland. So that was Saturday... it is now Tuesday and my stomach has still not recovered from the cramping that I have had since we went. Something was not right with that fish. My husband didn't have sushi, so he is fine. I really hate it when people leave horrible reviews just based on the service , so I didn't lead with that, but never in my entire sushi eating career have I been given sake nigiri without wasabi. I can see leaving it off of a fancy roll with plenty of sauce, but nigiri?? Then, to make matters worse, we could not get ANY server's attention to bring me some. I got tired of waiting and started to eat it with just soy sauce and focus on the nice roll with other sauces. This is most definitely NOT what we paid for. The bill was like $80 for 2 people. Suffice to say we will not be returning. I am working from home while dealing with my stomach cramps and I actually paused on my work just to write this review. The pain is super annoying (albeit not the worst food poisoning I have had), and the fact that we also got poor service and paid a lot of money is salt in the wound. read more

Came here for dinner after a long day. It was around 7 or 8 pm on a Saturday. They were pretty busy, took a min before they seat us. We went through the menu and menu looked pretty good! There were some things on there that I hardly see at any other sushi spot. The price was pretty decent kind of on the more pricey side. Took awhile before someone came and took our order but once we put our orders in the food came out pretty fast. We Ordered the Gyoza, Unagi Don, Sashimi Platter #2, Lion King roll, and a Pork Ramen in Black Garlic oil soup. The food was pretty good. The fish was pretty fresh for the sashimi platter, BUT the squid on the platter is very 'Rubber' like I couldnt eat it. It was the only thing that we didnt eat. Now that I live in San Leandro close to downtown e get to try all of what it has to offer. This sushi restaurant was so delicious and fresh we were both saying yum every single bite. It was our first time having hand rolls and what an amazing affordable way to try their fish. We will most definitely be back because we have mentioned eating here every day since. He also ordered a Real Crab CA Roll which after I picked off rice was tasty. I ordered the Lion King Roll well done w/light rice and I was pleased they handled that request. This is such a great sushi spot! I've been walking by for years and finally decided to stop by and try this place for lunch. We ordered a few different rolls, gyoza, and a bento box!! The rolls were really fresh, the fish was good quality, and the portions weren't small! For my bento box, I got Philadelphia rolls, which were delicious 10/10, and the beef teriyaki was ribeye!! I absolutely love this place! I'm shocked (still) that I don't have a sushi sensei badge yet after my check ins here alone! This place is super affordable especially for the quality of the raw fish. I especially love the 49er roll, and the veggie tempura. The service is fast, although the staff aren't necessarily the friendliest, but definitely not rude by any means. Nice, spacious restaurant with a few flat screen TV's. So, on this visit I ordered Kalbi under their lunch menu. It came with rice, miso soup & a salad. Good amount of food for the price but my short ribs had a lot of fatty parts and a light charred & greasy taste. On my prior visit, I got the Fish Katsu and it was decent.
