I'm so happy to find this place. My spicy salmon was fresh, and I loved all the toppings that you can choose from. I picked the ponzu sauce with coconut ginger sauce and did a half salad, half rice poke bowl, and now I need to come back here every other week. The quality was so good, and the staff was very friendly.

I started ozempic, you guys! As a result, my food desire is seriously wonky. But I've been craving fresh and nourishing things (imagine) and so I came here to poke star for a nice lunch. Slightly pricey, made so because I can't resist the upcharge add ons of crab stick and masago, my bowl came to $16 but wow it was a chonker! Packed over the brim, this was enough to be my sole meal for the day. Definitely the best poke bowl I have had here in town, all of the ingredients crisp and fresh!

I'm not the biggest fan of the BYO food bowl insanity, but every once in a while, I like a poke bowl, so I popped in here to try them out after reading a number of very positive reviews. The bowl madness started about 10 years ago with the arrival of the poke bowl from Hawaii, and the fad just grows and grows, and now seems like food bowls will be a permanent part of US culinary offerings. I filled out the BYO Poke order form, choosing Half and Half protein - Ahi Tuna and Shrimp. I chose a base of White Rice, then adding cucumber, edamame , carrots, sweet onion, green onion, jalapeños, and pineapple! My sauce choices were ponzu and sriracha aioli. I topped this mixture with crispy onion and tempura flakes. Cost was $13.50, service was quick and efficient. They did add a $1 adm charge, for using a CC, I assume! This was a very, very good meal. The Ahi was tasty, fresh and clean, if a bit mild. The shrimp followed that same course. The ingredients were excellent, especially the edamame, sweet onion, carrots, and the pineapple was a real star. The toppings of crispy onion and tempura played their roles well also. The sauces were tasty but lacked any real depth of flavor or spiciness. At home, I mixed a very good quality soy sauce with an equally good quality hot sauce, and l was very happy with the result. Even though the protein amounts were on the skimpy side as were the sauce amount for take out, this was a very nice bowl, one I will repeat in much the same form. I thought this bowl was far superior is all respects to the Mediterranean themed spits in the area. Ambiance - 4.5 Food - 5 Service - 5 Value - 4.5

First time at Poke Star today and I enjoyed my bowl. Its definitely a good option in Winston-Salem. I'm all about the sauces. I tried the Sriracha Aioli and the coconut ginger. I loved both and together they tasted great. I did the build your own with 2 portions of salmon. The staff was nice. Helpful and the restaurant was quiet and looked clean. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place in Winston-Salem.

Had a need for a poke bowl and I love that I can add whatever toppings I like. I always do the build your own so it's just the way I like it. So fresh and always delicious. Cannot recommend this spot enough.

I absolutely love this place! food is always fresh, delicious, and quick! The service is always wonderful. There are many options when choosing your bowl and it's very easy to customize.

Still a nice choice for a meal, I think. The process of ordering is still simple, whether one uses the checklist or verbally picks the items they'd like to see placed in their bowl. I feel like the amount of protein included in each bowl has shrunk, though I've learned to add tofu (at no cost) as a way of enriching the bulk of the meal. The beverage options remain limited. Only one of the restrooms is available to the public now, though one is probably enough as I never see many patrons in here at once. The takeout side of their business seems as strong if not stronger than their dine-in numbers.

I was curious when I found a poke spot in Winston how authentic/fresh it would be given they advertise themselves as Hawaiian. First things first is the service. Although I was timid, I was kindly and brightly greeted by two workers who seem like could be the owners too! They could tell it was my first time there and guided me through their options and ingredients! I can tell there are lots of regulars there who come instantly and leave with their take out so I knew it had to be good. I got a "make your own" bowl with spicy salmon and an array of veggies and tofu for $16! The portion was huge in my opinion! You're definitely getting a good amount for your money. I do agree with the other reviews that I wish it came with a few more pieces of the raw fish since that's what makes a poke bowl but that's all. Flavor was there sauces were great, fish tasted fresh! The decor is very clean and well kept. I ate half of my bowl and was able to have the other half as a snack after lunch. I definitely recommend if you're craving a healthy and refreshing meal!

Allow me to add more stars to the numerous Poke Star's already being accumulated, there is definitely a reason this place is a hit! Delicious fresh fish topped in a variety of ways to suit your tastes, including a variety of sauces to tweak things in whatever direction you want. An excellent place to go if you are craving something healthy in that sushi realm but maybe don't need the craftsmanship of a maki roll, or are maybe looking to save a little money. Another thing, to say they are going above and beyond to keep things clean and safe for COVID-19 is an understatement. The kitchen has been converted into a veritable containment grid, straight out of E.T. Which definitely cuts down on the comfort of the restaurant, but in these times, the health precautions are so appreciated. My bowl came with a nice portion of rice, greens, pineapple, crunch, and of course a mix of fresh fish. I was quite pleased. If I have one negative, it is the scant drink selection, including tea that is not fresh brewed. Not why you are coming her anyway, but, would be nice to sit down with a brewed tea while enjoying my bowl if eating in. Thanks for everything you do!

Oh wow. My husband and I agree that this is the best poke we've had in the mainland US. After visiting Hawaii and living off poke bowls for the duration of our stay, we became pretty picky. Nonetheless, we saw the good reviews for Poke Star and decided to give it a go. We were blown away! The portion size is excellent. The fish is fresh and tender. Plus, they have an abundance of good toppings. We got the Volcano Bowl, added wasabi Mayo, and added the crunchy onions. It was so good. We will definitely be back. This is a great place to get takeout but you can also sit indoors. We opted to take our food to a brewery!

Such a fresh and tasty poke bowl! Passing through town after a wedding. Had to grab a bowl to go! I did a build your own and it was fantastic. I know for future reference to ask for extra massage and seaweed. But everything was clean, fresh, Covid friendly, and amazing. My husband wasn't even hungry and he helped me with a few bites. It was a very generous portion and I even had to throw out a couple of bites ... but was so sad to do it!! If only I hadn't had the chai earlier and could fit a little more in my tummy. Super easy ordering process for building your own. Mark it out on the paper and hand it over. Will be back!

Delicious! I loved my poke bowl. I got salmon with an extra protein serving of spicy tuna. The amount of fish was not as much as I thought it would be so if you love sushi fish definitely get the extra protein. You might want to ask for extra sauce too. The spicy tuna was good and had a kick. It wasn't mayo based, it was gochujang. Delicious. The bowl itself was a lot of food. Everything was fresh. I ordered pineapple in mine but it didn't come with it. That's ok. I didn't actually miss it. The staff member was friendly and the place looked clean. I didn't stay because got my order to go. Would go again!

We wanted sushi and red curry and they delivered us some excellent eats. Service was awesome and the manager still always comes by to ask if everything is ok. Love that. Probably at some point will need a Reno as they have been open awhile but nothing looked bad nice busy atmosphere and lots of customers which is nice to see. We ordered a standard vodka soda from the drink menu. They have drink specials every day as well. Then we tried the sweet heat roll which was so pretty ! Delicious with all the sushi elements. Yum. Then we tried the poke bowl with ahi tuna. Wow so big! Rice, seaweed salad and lots of Veggies and a yummy soy wasabi vinaigrette. The tuna sashimi was so fresh. Then the red curry with chicken. We asked for extra Thai spicy and it was just the perfect heat. Served with white rice this was a huge portion honestly could have served 3 people. We still had a lot left over . They were also great about giving us another bowl of rice which is also a nice touch . The sauce here for this red curry is amazing. I will be back to buy it as we asked if they sell it and our server said yes . It is one of the best I've ever had. We were somewhat totally full !! Haha! Such a fun night here eating all this amazing Great food . I need to make sure I come back sooner than a few years! If your red curry fan definitely come here!

Went for lunch. We got two different lunch specials--they came with soup (I paid to upgrade to miso…read moresoup). We also got an appetizer of crab Rangoons. Our soups and appetizer were the absolute best thing we ate. Our entrees were okay. My husband got the beef bulgogi and it needed something. He thought the addition of chili sauce would make it ideal. He gave it a 6 out of 10. I ordered the hibachi beef bowl and it was lacking flavor. The beef was well cooked but didn't seem to have any salt, soy sauce, or anything like that. It was a 5 out of 10.

We were out shopping and craving pho when this place popped up and we were both like, "Ohhh yeah!" I'm honestly surprised I don't hear more people talk about this restaurant. We asked our server if they had anything spicy besides Sriracha and she brought their chili oil. If you like spicy food, definitely ask for it! It had a nice garlicky flavor, wasn't overly spicy and paired perfectly with the pho. We also tried their version of crab rangoon. We were surprised that the filling was green but it was actually really good! We didn't care for the dipping sauce that came with it though. So far we've only tried the pho but we'd definitely like to come back and try some of their other dishes.
