Hidden gem! This will be my go to poke place in the future. Because this place is very popular, I would recommend getting there early to make sure you get the fish, sides, and condiments you want. Why does Pokenoya stand out? - Friendly staff - Warm rice - House made sauces, sides, garnishes - Seared albacore!!! This is like steak, fish form, to me - Higher quality of fish (you can get your sauce(s) on the side and taste the fish yourself :]) - Local mom and pop place that does it right and serves local corporate jobs and people like me in the neighborhood For people that are concerned about cost, it's very reasonable and competitive for the quality of fish and overall product. When you compare this place to a poke chain or a place that drenches their fish in sauce to hide the quality, that isn't a fair comparison. This was my first time here. I didnt enjoy it and wouldn't recommend it. 1. Service: as the guy helping me was about to ring me up I saw the sign "mix upon request" so I asked him oh I'm so sorry could you mix it for me and he did it but under his breath said "a word of warning for next time" I found this very rude as there was no one else behind me anyway! Needless to say I regret tipping him -_- also he was not guiding me through the choices or explaining my options 2. Food: I've had poke before and it overall just didn't taste as fresh. Right down the street from my work place so decided to give it a try. It's in a small business area so it could be a little hard to find. It's like the other poke places where you build your own rice bowl or salad. They also have signature bowls that you could choose if you don't know what you want. What I got: Regular Salad w/ Salmon & Tuna w/ Spicy Mayo Sauce and Everything ($8.50): 3 choices of fish, but I just stick with salmon and tuna. Couldn't really taste the spicy mayo sauce so I wish they had put more into my bowl. Got it with crab meat, avocado, cucumber, white onion, seaweed salad, masago, crunchy onions, and nori strips. Love all the toppings that they offer, but the sauce lacked flavor and made my salad pretty flavorless...I just love everything really sauced! Service: Small little place with a few tables inside and outside. Workers just make your food and you're on your way! They have boba drinks too though! I've been buying the custom poke bowl for a year now at lunch times, usually 2-3 times a week. Always fresh and tasty cuts of fish, lots of customization and extras options and fairly priced. Has saved me from the junk food default that is so easy to get into the habit of! This is healthy, nutritious and (for me) within walking distance for pick up, though I also do delivery when I'm work-pressed. Prep time is usually 30 minutes or less. The menu is also much broader than poke if you like other Asian fusion styles. A small and trustworthy local business and I'm happy to give an A-rating! read more

I love this Poke place. It's one of my top 2 in South Orange County. They give plenty for their regular size and the pricing is reasonable! I normally get half sushi rice and half spring mix with Salmon. I don't handle spice well so I opt for no spice! It has plenty of flavor and you can always ask for a bit more sauce if you like your bowls super saucy. I would definitely give this place a try! Although not as great as my favorite joint somewhere else down further south, it is great for the location and the quality they give here. Although seating is a bit hard, I rather enjoy my quick poke fix and would come here again for their quality ingredients. Tucked away in a little business center this place does not disappoint. regular (3proteins) and large (5 proteins) size poke bowls. Tons of options for proteins, sauces and add ins. Best part was that it was all included at 1 price. None of this $1.50 extra for avocado or $1 extra for this and that. The large order allows you to pick 5 proteins so of course I went for all fish and tako (octopus). The fish was fresh and the price was right! Was a little disappointed that there was very little seating inside and how there were no fountain drinks. The hours are geared for lunch only so plan accordingly. I was so excited to try this place because its soooooo close to my office. It looked good and the line moved at a quick pace. I ate my poke bowl. After I ate my bowl I got in the car and drove home and thats when it happened. I felt sick and so did my friend who also got a bowl. Its possibly MSG. I got a bowl with brown rice / spring mix, seared albacore, octopus, and spicy scallops, avocado, crab meat, onion and cucumber, seaweed salad, sesame, masago, and a dash of furikake and very light spicy sauce. Done to perfection. I met with some old coworkers that day, and we were hanging out at the tables outside for a bit longer chatting. So nice! 5 stars for service, 4 for fish and nice variety of selections and 4 for pricing Spicy K sauce is a must try (Get the Korean sauce on the side!) Large plate is 11.95 and wasnt that large... Half brown rice and half spring mix was a good option.. they give a lot of rice! The mix was slightly bitter... the brown rice is better than any other poke place I've been to (including Wow Bento) Spicy salmon was my favorite; I also enjoyed the tuna, albacore and regular salmon. You can sample before you get it :) I didn't venture in to octopus or scallops but if that's your thing they have it and my friend enjoyed it. Unlimited ginger is a plus :-D I also enjoyed the crunchy onion and garlic topping amongst basic toppings. I have gone to this place a lot recently and I love the food. The poke bowls are amazing and most of the staff cares about their service and food. However I said MOST of the staff. I called in my to-go order and the young girl on the phone had the worst customer service skills ever. Now, I am in HR and I am also the corporate recruiter for my company.. and I know and understand how stressful lunch hour is. I also understand how a customer should be treated on the phone and this girl was just awful. I called in a to-go order and had two separate orders. I told the girl my order, and she informed me. "We are all out of albacore" in which I replied oh ok.. I'll do salmon instead. The girl not only was rushing and giving me the "rolling eyes tone" when I was ordering, I asked a question about base toppings.. "what are the base toppings again? Are they popular?" In which she replied "ugh ya.. that's why they are base toppings..." total attitude problem right off the bat. At the end of the order, I asked if they could do anything to help out with the total because the reason I called in the first place was for the albacore. Again.. I got the "UGH I'll ask I guess.." response and she asked and it turned out they were not out of albacore. So I said ok.. no worries.. and repeated my order and she was again annoyed. How this girl is the "voice of the company" and face I do not see how she got the job in the first place, I would never hire someone that made my company look bad. Next, I arrive to pick up my food. I walked up and I was happy I ordered ahead of time because the line was long. I walked up and who else? The girl from the phone. "Ya it's not ready yet, 10 more minutes.. (rude voice) In which I replied.. " so what your saying is I could've easily walked in and got my food order right away?" In which she replied.. "I make the orders as they come in and you called like 5 mins ago" I bit my tongue and didn't say anything. I checked my phone and I called 12 mins ago. I stood on the back and the gentlemen who made the food was very kind and offered me a free boba while waiting. I was happy he cared enough about his business. It was a kind and respectful gesture. As I went to pay.. I was informing the other girl co-worker that they are separate orders. The gentlemen came over and asked what was going on. The girl informed him "oh I think she's upset because the wait" in which I replied.. "No no... I'm ok with the wait, trust me I get it you are busy. It's the customer service over the phone and now in person the the young girl next to you. I come here all the time and you guys are always on it! And the food is always perfect. It's just that one employee who has the negative attitude to customers. The girl heard me and said "I'm sorry I just have a lot of orders and I do them as they come on" - again in a rude tone smiling sarcastically and fake. I have worked at Starbucks for over 3 years and sometimes alone.. and not once have I ever treated a guest how she did via phone and in person. There is no excuse for that attitude. Overall the company and other employees seem to really care about their business. The gentlemen in the back is what will keep me coming back. Hopefully they can redeem themselves. Great poke spot! I picked up lunch from here with a friend on a week day around 12pm. The actual shop is very small with no seating inside. There are a few tables outside, but it was too hot on the day I visited. I imagine they get a lot of customers from the businesses area. The seasoning/sauce they use to mix the fish is delicious! The prices are also on point, but I had to deduct a star because it costs $3 to add edamame since it is considered a "protein". I'm not a fan of that pricing scheme, but I paid for it anyway. read more
