Came here for a birthday celebration, and it was an amazing time right by the water in Newport! The food and drinks were absolutely superb. We ordered the miso-soy glazed salmon and the hamachi roll, both were delicious. The service was excellent, and they were super accommodating about letting us share plates. The overall vibe is fantastic, and they even have a nice little outdoor seating area where you can hang out and relax while waiting for your table. Highly recommend! the vibe at night is just as good as it is for brunch!

The ambiance at Shorebird was really nice. Being right on the water overlooking the boats was definitely the highlight of the experience. There's also a very close parking garage which made getting there super convenient. Food-wise, everything was just okay. We had the steak and eggs and the portion was pretty small, but the steak itself was actually really good. The chimichurri sauce was disappointing though since it was blended too smooth and more like a liquid sauce without the fresh herb texture you usually expect. The chicken and waffles were mid overall. The waffles were bland, although the chicken was decent. The blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes were also just okay. The syrup tasted a little off and the lemon flavor was way too overpowering. I prefer just a hint of lemon, but these were definitely very lemon-forward. The passion fruit drop cocktail was probably my favorite thing we ordered. Sweet but still strong... my favorite! Also really enjoyed the butter and the fresh strawberry jam. We had a decent time and enjoyed the atmosphere, but nothing really stood out enough to put this place high on my return list.

My husband and I wanted to find a fun local place to enjoy with a couple of friends and we found it in Shorebird! The vibe is very Newport and polished with high energy. The service was attentive, and we enjoyed several dishes together, including crabcakes, probably the best deviled eggs I've ever had (I'd love to know how they get them so creamy!), crispy rotisserie chicken and their pork chop. Shorebird is in a beautiful setting, right on the water and we happened to get a table right next to the boardwalk. They had a pretty comprehensive wine list as well. We will definitely be back!

Five stars with effort! Recently visited Shorebird to celebrate with friends, and the service was spot on, our waiter was not only attentive but also provided great organic banter as he served us through the night. The location/views speak for themselves (and I'm sure is a big part of why most people seek this place out) The food was great, and actually worth the price when combined with the environment, quality of ingredients, presentation, and service. Walking distance from Newport, you can end your night with a little bar hopping!

Came for a family brunch on a Sunday - make sure half your group arrives on time to be seated! The parking garage around the corner validates for 2 hours. The breakfast menu is vast and all 8 of us enjoyed our selections. This restaurant is a treat so prepare to spend a bit more than at your local brunch spot! You can taste the quality and see the care in the plating. Kind service and attentive table resetting/clearing. We love it here!

Came to Shorebird for brunch with my girlfriend's meetup group during OC restaurant week. The address is Newport Blvd but it's actually located on the bay behind the spaghetti factory and the crab cooker. There are parking spaces in front but they are paid parking through an app. There's also a parking structure just to the west, behind the crab cooker that parking is validated for patrons of Shorebird. I'll park there next time. Menu is brunch and lunch for the most part. We ordered the prix fixe restaurant week brunch. 2 courses plus a non alcoholic beverage for $35. I had the deviled eggs for my appetizer and the adovado and huevous for my main course. The deviled egg was rich and creamy. The main course was 2 eggs over medium on top of braised pork cooked in mild Mexican sauce and spices. It was served on a corn tortilla and came with sides of Guacamole and Pico de gallo. Everything tasted good. I also tried their bloody Mary. It was fantastic, well spiced and a generous pour. The views are wonderful on Newport harbor. I'm definitely interested in returning.

What a wonderful restaurant, great location with a gorgeous view. A wide variety of fine dining choices, we loved the crab cakes, the tomato soup with grilled cheese, the espresso martini, the steaks. The staff is always friendly and attentive, service has been pleasant and we have come again and again since we like it so much. Definitely a place to stop at next time you are in Newport or if you are local!

Legit 5 star brunch spot! I had a reservation for 10am for Valentines, we pulled in around 9:50 and got parking right in front. We did not get seated until exactly 10 but we got a great seat outside. We got the below items breakfast burrito 4/5 great flavor but should have had more meat crab eggs benedict 5/5 made to perfection and every bite was scrumptious lemon ricotta pancakes 4/5 great flavor combination but the texture of the 2 bottom pancakes were somehow off. Maybe overcooked. Still ate them! Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant itself is aesthetic and just absolutely gorgeous from top to bottom.

It's time you've heard, that great food and service happen when dining at Shorebird. Came here solo for a 5:45 reservation and even though I was running late, the hostesses were warm and accommodating. I still got a beautiful table overlooking the water and boats, perfect sunset vibes. Started with a chilled Grey Goose martini with a twist... and it was so nice I had to order it twice. Clean, crisp, perfectly balanced. Paired beautifully with the dressed oysters -- fresh and generously sized. For my entrée, I had the filet mignon with mushroom risotto. The filet had a great sear on the outside and was tender and juicy inside. The risotto was savory and comforting (almost reminded me of Thanksgiving dressing) with perfectly cooked mushrooms and chives. Christian, my server, was attentive without hovering and made the experience feel polished yet relaxed. I normally skip dessert, but I treated myself to the key lime pie with what tasted like raspberry sherbet, and it was the perfect bright, refreshing finish. (Skipped the whipped cream just personal preference.) Only critique: the restrooms felt small for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall: romantic ambiance, great service, excellent martinis. Solo-dining friendly and definitely worth returning.

Came here for a Sunday brunch with family and absolutely loved it. We had a reservation for 6 and were seated on the patio with a gorgeous marina view. Service was fantastic from our waitress, and the food very much delivered. I ordered the veggie omelette with crispy herb potatoes, sourdough toast, and a lemon aioli for dipping... chef's kiss. Got to sample a bit of everyone's plates and my clear favorite was the lemon ricotta soufflé pancakes. Insane. Honorable mentions go to the chicken and waffles(spicy) and the wagyu burger. Both were excellent. The space itself is beautiful and open, buzzing with big groups celebrating which made it feel lively without being overwhelming. Parking garage on site and they validate for the first two hours, which is always appreciated. Easily one of my new favorite brunch spots in Newport and will absolutely be back.

Came here after a beautiful day whale watching. Got there around 12 and got super lucky to beat the rush! There's underground parking right next door which is so nice. Definitely make a reservation - we were lucky and there were open seats. The vibe is fancy American. Not too fancy - lots of sports on the tv and lots of people enjoying brunch. We opted more so for lunch. Tried the buffalo onion rings - good but nothing amazing to write home about. Just regular onion rings w buffalo sauce to dip. Not what we thought Chile and waffles - hard to screw up. Chicken was good and crispy! Would return for the espresso martini - delicious!!

    Overstuffed Bacon & Eggs
    Kim H.

We were here celebrating belated Mother's Day. The alcoholic drinks were good & there were definitely a couple standout dishes. The Butter Basted Hokkaido Scallops with black mussels was delicious. My generous portion of Chilean seabass with asparagus risotto was flavorful & well prepared. Unfortunately, the experience overall was inconsistent. The Overstuffed Bacon & Eggs lacked that distinct deviled egg flavor as described, the Catalina Roll was average. The Prime Skirt Steak looked appealing but was just average. It lacked flavor. What really left a bad impression was the issue with the seabass portions. My daughter arrived later & ordered the exact same Chilean Seabass dish, but her piece was literally about 1/3 the size of mine. We politely asked our server about the obvious difference. Eventually, a manager came out with a condescending tone insisting everything is weighed equally. The extra piece he brought out was basically the same small size as the first one my daughter received. At that point, the experience was already soured. We didn't even bother taking the extra piece or her leftovers home. Good cocktails & a few strong dishes, but the inconsistency & dismissive customer service would make us think twice about returning.

The restaurant was really beautiful with a lovely view of the harbor. Food was delicious! I had the chilaquiles and they were really good! The pork belly skewers were really small but they were flavorful!

Good things: We thought the bathrooms and showers were very clean. The food at Moes was good as were the drinks. The store was well-stocked with toys, food, and clothing. The pool and jacuzzi were great, and the kids loved them. Kids' activities and games were plentiful, and they also enjoyed the playground. Staff was helpful in the office. Security was present and doing lots of rounds the first two nights (did not see them the busy Friday night). The camp was VERY, impressively, quiet at night. Middling things (mind you, the campground is not in control of these!): the sand is not soft sand like at the coastal beaches. Kids will probably need shoes for the shells and rocks, and it's packed super hard. The campground is under the flight path of John Wayne airport, so expect to know when it's 7 am each day since that's when the planes begin roaring overhead. Not-so-great things: the sites are super close together. Yes, you will be packed in like sardines, especially in the "standard" back row sites, which were completely filled when we visited. It is hard to back in when trucks are parked along the road, in front of the tiny sites- there is VERY little room for error. The sites are ALL DIRT, which I did not think would be so bad until I lived it. (Never again, unless I buy some turf at some point.) When campers dump their waste, expect to get some whiffs. (Many reviews note something about the angle of the dump/hose- we don't have a bathroom in our trailer so I can't attest to that issue.) Finally, the single biggest deal breaker for us was the allowed use of wood burning fire pits at sites. Since everyone is crammed in there, people burning wood on Friday night resulted in the paths and trailers and even the bathrooms being filled with smoke. They should only allow gas burning fire pits! So yeah- if we return it will only ever be mid week and preferably in the off-season.

Within 6days of reservation date, you lose 1 night stay so it was sunk cost so I went ahead and did both nights. Easy to check in and checkout. If you are down the hill, you can get a ride on the golf carts which are very nice. 2 cars overnight as well per cabin. Rooms were clean. There is no AC so be prepared depending on your weather. I wanted to leave windows open but most don't have a screen so you get bugs and I was afraid of critters coming in. (Saw it on a youtube from someone. ) Each cottage is different but great to get away. Beautiful location! SYOY!

Ok. I grew up in Orange County and only found out about place this a couple of months ago…read more The history of the cottages is way too long to go into here, but it is very interesting. Currently there are full cottages (like an Airbnb), dorms (private rooms with shared living space),and three ADA cottages. The prices range from $53 -$338 per space, per night, all year. Reservations for the cottages open up 6 months in advance at 8am, and the dorms open up 1 month in advance at 8am. The max time length is 7 days, per reservation. They are located right on the beach in Crystal cove, with full kitchens, bedding, towels, and toilet paper. The views are GORGEOUS!!! Lots of windows, and there is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing. We stayed in 29B which is the loft inside building 29 (4 twin beds and private bath downstairs) so cute, so comfortable, and just a lovely stay! The Beachcomber restaurant is located right on the beach as well, serving breakfast lunch and dinner. SUPER packed in summer, not such much in winter. There is a snack bar area, a couple historical building, and a souvenir shop adjacent to the restaurant. The Shake Shack is up at the top of the cliff, up a huge flight of stairs, on PCH. There is also a private meeting room located next to the reg office if you wanted to host a meeting overlooking the ocean. PLEASE NOTE FOR PARKING: the reg office is located past the ranger station, and you have to drive up there to get your keys and unload your car. Then you are given a parking permit, and have to drive your car across the street (PCH) and walk back to the cottage area, about a 10 min walk with minor hills. For the ADA cottages, you can park very close to the cottage. PRO-TIP: bring your own coffee cups, plates, silverware. Very limited in the cabin
