This place is like cafe Rio but for poke. My husband and I had been craving poke since our trip to…read moreHawaii and decided to give this place a try on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty empty, and we were helped right away. The offer signature bowls or you can build your own. You choose a base and how many types of poke you want. They offer 1 for $11.95, 2 for $13.95, and 3 for $15.95 and then you can add additional scoops for $2.95 if you'd like. This seemed pretty affordable for poke downtown. I got 1 poke and went with the shoyu salmon. Then I added my toppings and sauces. I got some veggies as well as mango. I really liked the LemonShark sauce which they described as a citrusy mayo. I also got citrus ponzu and eel sauce. At the end, they have fried onion and garlic as well as tempura crispies. I really appreciated the extra crunch!! Everything from the fish to the veggies tasted super fresh. I loved it. My husband got 2 poke with ahi tuna and salmon. With the 2 and 3 poke, you also get a premium topping. He really liked his bowl. The portion sizes were good, and we left satisfied. They are a Pepsi place and don't offer diet, but they have a good brew of Pepsi zero. They also had a lemon açaí soda that was really yummy. They have a good sized seating area and an additional vault room that is decorated ocean themed. Super adorable and fun!

The ahi turned my rice pink so what fish it is really? And, of the pink fish I received 7 pieces…read more The shrimp? Also 7 pieces. The premium seaweed salad topping is about 1 Tbsp. Good thing they gave me so much rice though. Huge disappointment.

It's a good option for poke/lunch; it's a little pricier but the fish does the justice. I got the…read moreRainbow option. The menu sign hanged on the wall says that the bowl has 3 fish options, ahi tuna, salmon, yellow tail, but the paper menu that the server uses says that it only has 2 options. I only detected that when I was watching my server scooping fish in my bowl. I asked him about it and he said he'll add a third scoop for me. I think restaurant will need to look into this to reduce confusion. I would say I like salmon most, so maybe next time I'll order the build your bowl option.

Edit: This is upsetting because they're never open when they say they are. I've placed 2 pickup…read moreorders and both have gone through, but then when I arrive the doors are practically blacked out and barred up. The taste is 5/5. The service therefore a 1/5. Changing my review to 2/5 until they gain some consistent open hours. Useless having good food if there's no way to get it. Call ahead if you're going to try it out to make sure they're open. To owners: get open. Stay open. And you'll get your 5 stars. It says something that this has upset me so much, mainly that the seafood is the best poke in town and I can no longer get it. TLDR: If you want the best Poke in the valley, you're going to have to brave Main Street. It's absolutely worth it. Favorite order: Dragon Bowl I grew up by the coast, so believe me when I say I know seafood. The seafood of the hundred new poke places in the valley are so incredibly bland I honestly find it nothing short of offensive. I've tried so many poke places where I was let down again and again with bland fish smothered in a ton of one-note, overpowering sauce that those of a lesser pallet scarf down ignorantly. I kept putting off this location due to the less-than-welcoming exterior and what a mistake that was. This is hands down the tastiest fish and they use what I believe to be the correct sauce ratios. You can absolutely tell this restaurant is run by a family; there's a very casual atmosphere behind the counter, but I enjoy it because it makes me feel like I'm on vacation again. The staff are very warm and even read off a list of ingredients in their sauce to see if my wife would enjoy it with her specific allergies. The portions are still pretty large for having great quality seafood, but perhaps not as large as the flavorless monsters of cheap seafood found at other places. This is a far better bang for your buck than any sushi you can get.
