It's a shame because this used to be my go-to poke spot in Southlake. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will never be returning. I placed two orders through ClassPass using my husband's account. When I arrived, the manager/owner said he couldn't find my second order, even though I repeatedly showed proof that it had been placed. I even suggested a simple solution: refund the order so I could place it again, but he refused and offered no alternative or attempt to resolve the issue. While trying to pull up my order confirmation again, I had to get past the "Review Your Experience" screen in the ClassPass app. At that point, he noticed I had rated my second order one star. His demeanor immediately changed. He became loud, confrontational, and unprofessional instead of focusing on resolving the issue. I understand that negative reviews aren't pleasant to receive, but customers should be able to leave honest feedback without being confronted or treated differently because of it. What should have been a simple customer service issue escalated unnecessarily. This experience completely changed my opinion of this business. The owner told me he doesn't want to serve me anymore. Don worry, nothing about today's experience made me want to ever return. I won't be back, and I can't recommend it based on how the situation was handled. read more

Pokeworks is a decent option for poke in the area. It isn't the best poke I've had but a good option for a quick bite. Their service is quick and you can place an order online or via their app for pick up. I ordered a build your own salad bowl with 3 scoops of protein. I tried the torched option and was pleasantly surprised. Lightly searing the poke gave it a nice flavor. The inside of the store is bright and has a good amount of seating. The sides and sauces are also served in extremely small portions. It's frustrating to pay extra for additional protein and receive mostly rice instead. I have never been here and was craving a poke bowl so I decided to try this place. I had the Poke Your Way Combo. And had three proteins, shrimp, lobster surimi and salmon. The shrimp was bigger than I've had in other poke bowls. I had way too many toppings so I won't bore you with that. But everything was very fresh, filling and very tasty. I will definitely be ordering from here again and go heavy on the flavor next time. I just did medium. I also had the miso soup with was very good! But definitely try this place out. I asked about their Mac n Cheese for my 2 year old son. I specifically asked if it was spicy and the server replied, not at all. It taste like potato salad. So we proceeded to order the food. At check out they offered to add some herb/spice on top and I reminded them that it was for my son and said no, thanks. My son tried it and immediately started gagging and trying to wipe his tongue. My spouse then tried it and indeed it was spicy. We took the Mac n Cheese back to the counter and requested a refund as the item was sold to us as non spicy. The clerk Anne was demeaning and rude. And kept saying we don't do refunds. I understand no refunds for an item that you order and may not like, but i attempted to explain that I was told that it wasn't spicy and was sold something under false information. I then asked her to just drop it. However, while we remained in the restaurant cleaning up and trying to leave, she just kept repeating, we don't do refunds. On the way out, I double checked their posted menu and there was zero indication that the food item contained spice. After writing a review on our experience, I was asked to provide an email with further details and their response to my email was to join their loyalty program. No thanks. You must earn customer's loyalty. And training in customer service is highly recommended for your staff. read more

Nice Poke! I had the spicy Ahi and although the sauce wasn't spicy the poke overall was good in color (pretty) / texture/ temperature and flavor. A signature bowl will run you about $15 after tax and that's about right pricing. I like the menu and there are ample ingredients/ sauces for a build your own bowl. They also run special bowls, currently they're featuring a lobster bowl, so it seems they bring in new items throughout the year to mix it up. There is a soda fountain with Pepsi products, and Coke/ Diet Coke cans available should you have a diehard allegiance to Coke or Pepsi. Overall, a nice poke choice. I'll have to try a few more bowls to determine the quality of the sauces. read more

I am a fan of all the poke places popping up around the metroplex. This was my first time at Pokeworks. The location is not the easiest to find, I saw the Boba Chicken next door, and that helped. The setup is pretty familiar, you go through the line and build your bowl. I had half rice half salad. The fella helping me went hard on the salad so the bowl was nice and full. Like others have mentioned, they go pretty light on toppings and protein. I found like two pieces of serrano in the bowl. Even on sauce. I asked to go heavy on the ponzu, and it was barely noticeable. Everything was really fresh and the fish was good, it just is a bit lackluster. Our order was also incomplete on delivery and called to get it fixed and the manager refused to refund or provide gift card despite admitting the order was not completed. When I ordered the Spicy Ahi, I requested the standard toppings. I did not want to customize a dish which I had never eaten previously. On the safe side, I even took a photo of the menu which mentions the standard toppings (e.g., edamame, masago, etc.). When asked if I wanted avocado, I said yes without realizing it was an up charge. Since that was the only condiment he asked if I wanted, I should have been told about the extra cost. If these were Hawaiian-grown avocados, I would have definitely opted for it; although, none of the photos on the menu show any with avocado. I enjoyed the Spicy Ahi. The sriracha aoli had minor amount heat, but mostly provided the flavor. Other than the avocado, I liked how the ingredients combined well. The avocado felt out of place in the dish. Although I ate with a fork, the sticky rice clumped enough that I could have used chopsticks. TL;DR: Poke fast-casual, Chipotle style! Kind of tucked away back from the road. Modern and clean interior. Quality ingredients. A little on the pricier side (~$15 per person or more). Order ahead on the app! (Everyone has an app these days!) Build your own bowl, "burrito", or choose a pre-selected recipe menu item: (Regular or Large, large size wasn't as large as other places "large" and was a nice portion for a hungry lunch). Essentially "Large" seems like just an extra scoop of protein, as I was asked "Regular or large?" After the base was put in the bowl. I got a large bowl and made it a combo (I recommend getting a regular bowl with the combo unless you haven't eaten all day and are ravenous). The spicy proteins are delicious, right up my spicy-food-loving alley, but the regular proteins look good as well. I'd love to see jalapeño in the selections (if it was there, I missed it), instead of serrano. Jalapeños are easier to eat raw, generically speaking, and serranos as small and packed with seeds which just seem to get stuck in the teeth and don't have the same slow-heat flavor that jalapeños do. Again, my spicy-food-loving snobbiness is showing; I love spicy of all kinds, and look to enjoy the spiciness, not just be blasted with a bite of concentrated fire (like a Chinese peppercorn... oof!), that is, unless, it's expected. All that said, the miso soup is good, and the selection of custom teas/lemonade is refreshing and creative! I got brown rice in my bowl and he got kale noodles in his. We both added pickled ginger, as well as pineapple for me and mango for him. I got light dressing but wish I had gotten a bit more. Great if you are doing keto or have any diet restrictions as well. You make it as spicy or as savory if you so desire and pick exactly what it is that you want in your bowl. I always get their sashimi grade ahi tuna, salmon then fill it up with all the fixins. The portion sizes are perfect with just the right amount of flavor. This time around I as feeling adventurous and tried the musubi, Hawaiians you can HAVE THAT - not my jam! But the poke leaves me with a party in my mouth. FINALLY made it to Pokeworks! My mom and I came in for a quick lunch directly from the airport. We were very pleased with the ambiance and set up of this location. I had a large 3 scoop bowl with salmon, white rice, cucumber, green/sweet onion, seaweed salad, edamame, and sesame seeds, with ponzu and soy on the side. For a large size, the portions weren't quite much to be honest. I had to ask for extra of almost every ingredient. That aside, everything tasted fresh and delicious! Upon leaving, we spoke with the store owner who thanked us for coming in. We told him how we found Pokeworks on Yelp and that this was our first time dining in. Not real happy with my experience at this place today. I preordered my lunch online and I knew that I needed to do it beforehand so I could have enough time to have it during my lunch break. I showed up 5 mins before it said it would be ready and waited in the pick up line. Not one person even acknowledged me or asked if I was picking up anything, but technically it was 5 minutes before the time it said it would be ready, so I stood there and waited patiently. Then a guy comes into the store and asks for a build it yourself sushi burrito. The guy behind the counter puts together his burrito in a slow and careful manner. He gets it together, rings him up and leaves. Finally I speak up cause now I've been standing there for over 10 minutes. I was like hey man I gotta get back to work.... I don't really understand this process... Next time do I need to just come in and have you build my burrito instead of making an online order? It doesn't make sense to me why this guy was in and out of here so fast when I had a togo online order over 20 mins ago and it's still not done. The guy then rushes to make my sushi burrito, and it wasn't made with the same amount of care as I just saw him do the other guys. Ok - so, like many other "poke" establishments erupting around the DFW... this isn't poke as a local bred Hawaiian understands it. Poke = Hawaiian "to slice" and is made with ahi, aku or tako, and soy sauce, kukui nut, cilantro, sesame seed oil and (preferably) Maui onion. This ain't that. Never saw a poke "salad" with tons of lettuce filler at Tamashiros, Tamuras, or Foodland. Is it a decent product? I guess. These guys make it ... "ok"? The portions are 1) small and 2) reaaally expensive for what you get. Look picture - bowl, small. $14 for reg size and $16 for what they call a "large". In Hawaii, if you tried to charge those prices for those manini (tiny) bowls, you'd have a problem with most bruddahs I know. Fresh, clean ... my wife liked it, but didn't recognize it as a "poke bowl" until she unearthed the small scoop of rice near the bottom. Grade C+. read more
