Poke Bowl - Regular (2 Proteins)

Naomi was star of the day. She was extremely friendly especially because we arrived closer to closing time, and I know workers usually just want to leave. She was amazing. The poke bowl itself was okay, not the best I've had in terms of quality but it was still a decent bowl. I would skip the seaweed salad.

Great, fresh poke with a nice variety of toppings/sides. The only issue is that the scoop portion is actually abysmal lol. I'm pretty sure I counted a total of 4 pieces of ahi tuna in my large bowl. My bowl was also 70% rice and 30% salad for my base. Besides the scoop portions and insane amount of rice, everything tasted great. I'll be back for lunch again.

First time visiting and trying poke. First impression were it was a clean, fresh space and we were greeted by the staff as we entered. Located walking distance from ASU. Ordered poke bowls to eat during lunch time. They offer hot meals options as well. We ordered at the counter and we were able to customize our bowls. It was my first time trying a poke restaurant I ordered from the menu the #2 Yuzu Ponzu Salmon and my friend made her own bowl. My only recommendation on my part for next time is to add more sauce if you plan to add only 1 type of sauce because I ordered medium amount and it needed more sauce especially if you like every bite to have sauce. You have the option to add the amount of sauce in mild, medium or heavy from.

I grabbed dinner from here shortly before they closed on a Friday night and it was delicious. My cashier Ash was so kind and suggested a sauce option for me when I asked, and it was incredible. The place was closing soon, so it was pretty empty, and the service was very fast. She even offered a free musubi which was tasty. The place itself is small and only seats 21 people, so if you go, I'd recommend going in a small group or eating outside. If you want fresh poke to cool you down while not feeling weighed down, this is the spot.

I love finding hidden gems like this. It is a small, quiet spot that is perfect for getting some work done while grabbing lunch or a quick bite. The staff made the experience even better. Isabelle was amazing. She made being a new customer feel so easy. She explained the process in detail and gave thoughtful recommendations based on what I was craving. Sarah went above and beyond to make sure the store looked clean and welcoming, which really made a difference. Nick brought great energy with his friendly attitude and set the perfect vibe with his music choices. I walked in not really sure what to expect and now I absolutely love it. Definitely worth checking out if you have some downtime.

SO GOOD EVERY TIME. Obviously not traditional poke, but honestly I've found myself preferring this to the traditional version sometimes. The staff here are always very friendly and scoop HEAVY. The restaurant has always been clean when I visit even during heavy traffic hours. I love Pokeworks.

So, I haven't had Pokeworks for quite some time. My friends and I decided to go today and half of them had never tried it before so I hyped you guys up so bad, right. But when we got our food it was actually terrible. I've had Pokeworks many times and it's like my favorite...I have the app and everything so I know what it's supposed to taste and LOOK like. The Mac was oddly dry this time and had 0 flavor and the lump some of salad we got was flavorless as well. Like pasture animal food...Then the chicken like come on now. It was COLD and there was barely any on any of our plates and the chicken wasn't even the right chicken that went on the plate... It was disgusting. You'd expect the workers to tell us beforehand if there wasn't anymore chicken for the HULI HULI CHICKEN plate? They did not. They only told me about the drinks being out of stock because I went to the app, saw them gone, and asked on my own behalf. The customer service was bad. I am not the type to leave bad reviews at all but I'm just very disappointed. I literally left a good review on Google like 2 years ago of this place.

Accidentally stopped by because I wanted Asian food and the other place I was planned to go was closed unexpectedly. It seems like they were busy with online lunch orders which is great for them. Even though they got many orders, they were quick to help me. The bowl is huge and they offer so many different kinds of toppings. I love the seaweed. I could not remember the name but I could not find it at any other poke places. Fish and rice are ok.

Seen this place before and my girlfriend decided we should try it. No regrets! The poke we got was amazing. It's Tempe next to ASU so parking sucks but if you do find a spot, I recommend it. $12 a bowl of fresh healthy ingredients is always a must even more with the variety of choices to meet your tastes and likes. They were playing One Piece on the lobby TV though so that gets negative points from me

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.

We choose to sit indoors. The restaurant is very cozy with dimmed lighting to add to the evening ambiance. It has a casual feel but you can dress up or down. Some people were casual and some more dressed up. We were seated at the front by the stage where live music was about to start. I thought this would be nice since I do enjoy live music. Well the speakers were facing right at our table and it was noticeably loud when the entertainer began to play. We asked for another table. We could not hear ourselves talking. I ordered a cocktail, The Giddy Up Espresso Martini. That was very delicious! They do have a full bar, it's nice to have choices as far as alcoholic beverages. Our food, Fish & Chips, BBQ Nachos, Aged Manchego, Crusty Bread Garlic Oil & Balsamic, and Molinari Sopressata. Everything was absolutely delicious! The fries with the Fish were perfect. My favorite besides the Martini. was the Crusty Bread with Olive Oil and Balsamic. Our server was the best! Amiriya made sure our drinks stayed filled and asked us what we thought about the food. Even on this busy night. After our meal we walked around the outside seating and game area. This place is a fun place to meet with others especially with the outdoor/patio game area. I would love to come back when in AZ.. But, I don't have to wait until then because we have a CD restaurant in the San Diego area! Woohoo! I can't wait to try some other dishes and have another Espresso Martini. I probably would pay for a shot of Bailey's added to the drink. Beginners Luck is just that kind of place. Food 4.5/5 - I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Roll with fries. It was excellent and quite a portion. More than enough for a second meal. Loaded with shrimp and crab. I wasn't expecting a crab and shrimp salad but rather a mix of the two warm and buttered in the roll but it was very tasty as served. The only part that was a little off was the burned in brand on the roll the cold salad was served in. The charred flavor with the salad was a little off putting. I just pinched off the burnt bits from the bread. Excellent fries! Service 4/5 - I sat at the bar. Bartender was nice, offered regular menu and restaurant week menu as well. Meal was brought by manager, fries were still piping hot. Bartender and manager checked back to make sure meal was to my liking. Ambiance 5/5 - Cute place. A lot of nice outdoor seating and seating inside but a bit less. All in all a great place with a nice complement of offerings! I will return. Quite tasty! We just did apps: Fondue Blanc served with linguisa, pretzel bread and roasted cauliflower. The fondue was especially delicious with the cauliflower. We also had pimento cheese served with potato chips and chicharrones. I've only ever tasted grocery store made pimento cheese and was not a fan but when I tasted the pimento cheese at Beginner's Luck, I instantly became enamored. Totally enjoyed it with the chips. 5/5 -- One of the Best Middle Eastern Meals I've Had in Years!…read more Kabizza was a fantastic find in North Tempe and easily one of the better Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in years. I ordered the kebab plate, while my mom ordered the chicken tikka plate. Both came with a generous portion of seasoned rice, hummus, pita and a very fresh side salad. My kebab was very good -- 4/5. The meat was cooked extremely well, with a great char on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside. I personally thought it could have used more seasoning to really make the flavor pop, but that's a relatively minor criticism. I'll definitely order it again because seasoning can sometimes vary depending on who is cooking that day. The chicken tikka, however, was absolutely perfect -- 5/5! The chicken had exactly what you want from grilled Middle Eastern food: a beautiful char on the exterior while remaining incredibly juicy and tender inside. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The sides were also 5/5 across the board. The rice, hummus and salad all tasted remarkably fresh. The hummus was smooth and creamy, and the salad had crisp vegetables that tasted like they had just been cut rather than sitting around waiting to be served. Everything on the plates worked together really well. The restaurant is located in a plaza that certainly isn't the fanciest or most upscale in N. Tempe, so don't judge this place by its surroundings. Inside, Kabizza is clean, comfortable and casual, and ultimately the quality of the food is what matters. I also thought the prices were reasonable considering both the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. The gentleman who took our order was friendly, and our food came out surprisingly quickly. Kebab plate: 4/5 Chicken tikka plate: 5/5 Rice, hummus & salad: 5/5 Freshness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall experience: 5/5 Kabizza may be an unassuming neighborhood restaurant from the outside, but the food punches WAY above what you might expect from the location. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I want to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced Middle Eastern food in Tempe!

The spices in the kebab and rice were perfect. And falafel was very nice with the right amount of spice and no greasy flavor. The reason only 3 stars? The staff was slow and at times non existent. Atmosphere not good here and the booths are definitely 2nd hand. I will certainly try again though, because there is so much more to enjoy on this menu and the food was good. Side note. If you get a plate dinner, it is plenty for 2!!
