There are so many incredible restaurants in Palm Springs but we grabbed a quick dinner at this hotel bar/restaurant because we had to be up at 5am for a flight the next day. The bartender was friendly and the food arrived in a timely manner but it's just nothing special for the hotel prices they charge. The flatbread wasn't bad but I'd prefer it a little crispier and cooked longer. The wings were average but the sauce was good and wasn't too much on the wings. The beer selection is minimal but it's a full bar, which is a plus. read more

Where do I start, is it the horrible service, the long wait or watching my waitress run around in circles like a chicken with no head. For two days I got to see this poor lady walk around telling hungry people I'm sorry about myself I feel bad that she had no support from mgt. This resort offers services that they can't Adequately provide. Don't come here if you like good service. What's even more disappointing is I spoke the gm I believe his name was Jim and he is aware of the issues in the kitchen and still allows the service to be what it is. Double tree gets a fat f for my over all stay and even though my service sucked I still tipped my waitress bless her heart. If double tree needs a consult hit me up. read more

Just got 4 items to go- fries were fine as were the wings. Bao buns and ribs were beyond palatable. The shrimp in the bao buns was not cooked and the ribs were extremely dry and served with out the Gorgonzola dolce. This was a take out order- otherwise would have sent it back. The food was pretty good, but the service really took away from the dining experience. We came here for Christmas dinner because they had advertised some special dishes. We ordered both of the specials (prime rib and salmon salad) and were excited. However, it seems that there were only like 2 waiters taking care of about 15 tables on one of the busiest holidays. Needless to say, service was SLOW. We waited over an hour for our food to come, but when it finall came, it was very good! I enjoyed the Seafood platter appetizer, basically a mix of seafood (salmon, shrimp, maybe some scallops) as a dip that you eat with chips. The seafood felt really fresh and there was a kick of jalapeno that rounded out the whole dish. The salmon salad was a special for Christmas. I really hope they put it on the menu because it was excellent! The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the salad was great; the craisins and toasted pine nuts along with the sweet dressing turnes kale and some other mixed greens into a fantastic dish. The flat iron steak was also great. It was perfectly cooked, and really tender. It was seasoned well without being too salty, and it worked really well with my salad too ;). Overall, I really really enjoyed the food and it's nice to have a restaurant like this so conveniently placed in the hotel. However, I was disappointed with the lack of service, especially on a day that is expectedly busy. I would want to give a higher rating, but the poor service took too much away from the experience. read more

This place is beyond bogus! The hilton double tree should be ashamed of this place. Literally just paid $14 for the worlds worst 'flatbread'. The wings looked inedible. The kids pasta had bland sauce and the noodles were over cooked. Seriously I've have better pizza for $5 from Little Cesar's. We paid $30 for 4 small slices of crappy pizza, kids pasta & 3 chicken wings. So overpriced. Shut this place down or shape this place up. read more

This place was not good. I ordered their $28 New York strip steak, medium rare but on the rare side and the first one showed up burnt all the way through, the second took about 25 minutes to arrive so I was sure it should be just the same. I was wrong it looked too have been frozen when placed on the grill, it was past well done all the way through except for about a 1/4 inch in the very center that was still ice cold. The mashed potatoes were a pile of yellow, oily flavorless mush work lumps in it like instant potatoes made with cold water. The veggies were ok but the whole plate was a soup of yellow oil. The calamari appetizer was actually really good as well as the French fries on my kids plate, my wife's fish and chips were ok also. It appears as though their fry chef is on top of his game. The waitress was actually great and I feel bad for her having to deal with the chefs ( I use the term loosely) disaster. I would never recommend this place. read more

It is too bad this is the only food service in the hotel. For a quick cup of coffee and breakfast, this is not a good idea. With only six tables occupied, the staff could not handle the few orders they had. It seems as if the kitchen is miles away from the dining room, and everything takes a long time, including getting the check delivered to your table. Go next-door to the Princess Grille. read more

It's great for a hotel bar. Basically all meals under $20, but still not the same as a regular restaurant. That being said, just go to a regular restaurant for that. Bar staff is pretty friendly and awesome and food quality is very good. Alfonso was my bartender / server and was very helpful, attentive, and friendly - he gave me some great recommendations for the surrounding area and an in depth run down on what the Double Tree Hilton Truly has to offer. Carlos was wonderful as well when we came back and had him as our barkeep. Highly recommend this place! read more

I ordered the Fish and Chips and was very very disappointed. I was served 3 small strips of battered fish and a ton of fries. The fish had no flavor at all. The tarter sauce was also flavorless. This was a $14 meal that was only worth $6 at the most! Same menu available at the bar. I was disappointed that the restaurant didn't have a more extensive menu. read more

Disneyland may be the happiest place on earth but the staff at this restaurant will be in second place. Just had a delicious breakfast and the best hospitality in the valley. On site food manager and staff seem happy to work and be of service...very refreshing. read more

I'm sure the buffet is lovely during peak season. We have gone with the 3 egg omelets every morning for breakfast at they are wonderful everyday. Egg white omelets or while eggs. The presentation is beautiful as well. Little grilled tomatoes and beautifully sliced strawberries make the plate look even more appetizing. The toast comes out dry with a little dish of whipped butter that in my opinion makes for great toast that isn't soggy or over buttered. The waitstaff are very friendly and professional. read more

We stayed at the Doubletree and were too tired to try to find a restaurant for dinner so we tried the hotel's restaurant, Polanco. We tried their Palm Springs salad and the skirt steak. We are every single bit. They were that good. The next morning we tried their buffet and we were not disappointed. Their farmer's potatoes are perfectly seasoned. They also had their homemade salsa which was perfection. Caution - it's spicy. To us it was perfect. Customer service was very good. Truly recommend this restaurant and will return. read more

We own a house in the resort, so Mira Bar / Polanco is a natural choice as it is so near and we can reach it with our golf cart. We gave them several chances, each time I ordered something else to try. Each time food was awful to meh. Mostly I left it on the plate. The cocktails are meh, and I think you can find more variety in a small village pub. (They never heard of prosecco, their wine list is what list? And this is a Double Tree hotel, not a mommas poppas restaurant which probably would have so much better food and wine.) People are nice, but too busy for you and have no knowledge to prepare cocktails. No real bartender. At the end we gave up, rather drive somewhere and enjoy our meal/drinks than beating a dead horse. read more

we decided to go to the hotel restaurant for dessert, we ordered two coffees and two desserts, we ordered the banana bread pudding and the brownie ice cream skillet, we waited OVER an HOUR for the two desserts, the waiter never assured us that it would be coming, he actually took our order and we never saw him come out again. (Also the restaurant had only four other tables in the restaurant it was very slow. So now for the desserts we ordered the brownie skillet with no nuts as my husband is allergic to nuts, they finally brought it out with it covered in nuts, then the banana pudding had a big hair (looked like it was placed on top of it) I was floored ! I can not believe this... we sent it all back, and explained of the nut allergy and showed the waiter the hair all his response was "don't worry I won't charge you" really??? You think we are going to eat here let alone pay for that kind of food and service !? Let me tell you both me and my husband are in the service industry and this was completely unacceptable... I went to the front desk and asked for the manager (no manager on duty at that time apparently)... got his business card I will be contacting him in the morning. The front desk agent was less than sympathetic and didn't feel genuine at all, every employee we came across seemed as though we were an intrusion to them rather than welcomed. needless to say we unfortunately will not be coming back to this hotel... we come to Palm Springs to visit family often we will be choosing other hotels going forward read more
