I absolutely love this place! I honestly feel like I can't leave Palm Springs without going here for brunch. The food is delicious here regardless what I've ordered they never disappoint. The quality is good, the quantity is well portioned enough to share. The service is great, everyone I've been served by has been so friendly and very attentive. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they do have the space for large parties. I highly recommend this place, go early cause they get very busy but well worth the wait if you need to wait!!

    Good coffee served here.

Talk about finding treasure in a far away land, Elmers Restauarant is about three hours from home, and that is the only sad part. The food, the service, the people, customers and staff, are all quite welcoming. Good coffee, great corned beef hash, amazing omelettes, delicious French Toast too, just a great place for breakfast. Even though they were packed with customers, service was fast and accurate; talk about impressive. Elmer's is definitely worth dealing with any wait and sometimes the parking lot. We'll be back!

Good family restaurant that's been here for years. The architecture in Palm Springs is primarily from the late fifties to mid sixties, only place in America, and Elmars is that as well. Good home cooking here, and easy on your wallet as well. Excellent parking and staff. In L.A., this would be Norms; in San Diego, Kamilas on Balboa.

This location is a staple when going to Palm Springs. It's delicious and the portions are just right. Service is fast but the restaurant does fill up fast. Ambience is very causal, American dinner type. The German pancake is a staple. I will keep going every time I'm in Palm Springs.

We went to Elmer's today as a family, and it was amazing like it always is. We got there around 5:30pm and had plenty of tables open, so getting seated was quick and easy. The service was fantastic. Our server was friendly, checked in at the right times, and honestly my soda pop was never empty. Every time I looked down, a fresh refill had already shown up. Little things like that make the whole meal feel even better. I had the special crepe stuffed with a ham and bacon omelet, and it hit the spot. My girls each got the Cub Cakes and loved them, and my wife had the Looking for Sun omelet and really enjoyed it. And of course we had to get the traditional German pancake. That's a non‑negotiable for us. Light, fluffy, and perfect for everyone to share. Elmer's is one of those places we keep coming back to because it's consistent, friendly, and just a great family meal every time.

I absolutely love Elmers I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I live in LA but, come to Palm Springs every summer. The service is always really good and the food. My go to is the valley of the sun omelet. The ambiance is a old school dinner.

You know what the deal is about this place. Their famous German pancakes. A must if you haven't tried it. The place opens all day but we tend to only come for breakfast. It does get pretty busy so if you're coming on the weekend, be prepared to wait. We came on a Tuesday for breakfast and as we had our pup with us, there was a slight wait for the patio seating. Plus I just found out that there's two patio on either side...lol... We normally thought it was the only one in the back. There's also the front patio which wasn't available which I didn't even know it was used having been here loads of times. Thought it was just for waiting. Anyways, it was only a few minutes wait until we got seated. The menu pretty much consist of everything. Breakfast lunch and dinner and anything in between. We just tend to stick to breakfast whenever we're here. Once in a while sandwich. To what everyone wants, started off with mimosas and went with the country fried steak and gravy. Served with hash browns, a biscuit with butter and eggs your way. Also the potatoes pancakes with apple sauce, eggs your way and bacon. And the main show stopper, the German pancake with strawberries and powdered sugar. Everything was pretty tasty. Country fried steak was nice and the gravy was great. Potato pancakes had that nice little crunch which was perfect. Cooked perfectly. Pancakes, soft with a little crunch from the crusts. The glaze from the strawberries was a perfect touch to it. You could get it without but I prefer with the berries. Service was excellent. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Hostess was great and the sweetest. There's a decent size parking lot but street parking is also available.

If you are looking for a pancake unlike any other then look no further! Highly recommend the German pancake (super soft and thinner than ours) but make sure you have four people to eat it! We sat outside and the view is also very nice from the mountains. Nothing overly crazy about this place but it seems popular with the locals and was pretty busy on Saturday morning. Was pretty bummed about our service, had to ask for a lot - water refills, syrup for pancake, etc.. but wasn't the worst.

The food and the service were top notch! I went on Sunday and it was so delicious that I came back again the next morning. It was quite a wait on Sunday (approximately 35 minutes) but WELL worth it. I had German pancakes for the very first time and they were YUMMY!!! Whenever I am in Palm Springs, it's a must that breakfast will be at Elmer's!

From the staff to the food... everything was amazing cooked well and tasted even more amazing we definitely recommend coming here.

Great for breakfast! (Or "breakfast for lunch") I had the Stuffed Hasbrows. It had scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage (chuncked), then hashbrowns over that, then gravy on top of it all. A little messy, but very tasty. I asked for the hasbrowns to be "Well-Done", so there would not be that under-cooked potatoes in the middle; they were cooked just right. The fruit was very fresh and sweet. And I liked the toasy English muffin with jelly. The servixe was great. Super friendly staff and the service was paced just right (good follow-up after food comes, also not bothering while eating). The ambiance is nice, like a big, clean IHOP (table space layout), but with nicer furniture and wall decor.

ORDER THE CINNAMON ROLL PANCAKES!! I was hesitant on coming here where the menu sounds traditional in a city full of award winning restaurants and boy am I glad that I got to try this plate because I was incredibly impressed with everything we ordered!! Including the Bloody Mary, which I normally don't like... I want to do a Palm Springs visit explicitly to dine here again!!

Half of the Farmers Omelet with a side of hash browns and a biscuit

Wanted brunch near the Festival Theaters. Elmer's seemed a good choice. 10 AM on a Saturday morning - the place was packed with a 20 minute wait for a table for 2. They have a huge menu with lots of breakfast options. We decided to share the Farmer's Omelet with a side of hash browns and a biscuit ($19.29). They split the meal in the kitchen for us (NICE). Even eating just half, the portion size is huge. Overall, a good choice for brunch, but not really special and not meriting a long wait - an IHOP or Dennys equivalent in terms of menu size, quality of food, and price.

    No.

    Is it bottomless mimosas?

No. You'll pay by the glass.

Was this restaurant formally Jeffrey's in the 50's?

Yes it was Jeffry's at least til 1965. Maybe later but that I can not vouch.

Will you be open on Christmas or Christmas Eve?

Open till 9 Xmas Eve Closed Xmas Day

Do they serve breakfast food menu items at dinner time?

Yes! Their menu says breakfast is served from open to close.

    Is elmers dog friendly?

Yes on the patios and outdoor seating.

    Do they take reservation?

When we went was very early in the am...just walked and and got seated... Best bet is to call Elmers and ask!

You can either call or use DoorDash, etc.

Do you have space heaters for the evenings?

    Yes

Will you be serving Thanksgiving dinner outside? We are a family of 6. Thank you.

Hi Patrick! Yes, we will be open from 7a to 7p on Thanksgiving Day. We look forward to seeing you and your family! =)

    Is Elmer's open for take-outs?

I'd imagine so, but it would be best to call and ask. I was just there last week, and the dining room was empty! Good luck!

They do not have grits. You can get them at Rick's cafe on Palm Canyon, Denny's, and Bit of Country, a small good cafe on Palm canyon.

Everyone really enjoyed their food. I found the salmon crepe to be really delicious, served with a jammy egg, a generously sized portion of salmon on a bed of spinach with some creme fraiche all wrapped in a delicious crepe wrap. I've never had anything quite like it. Also major compliments to the simple but refreshing side salad that came with each of our breakfasts, but we were also given the option of potatoes or mixed berries. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area looking for a good spot to have brunch.

Golf course was closed but we were still able to see it. It's a big property. Lots to do. Do like they allow dogs since we had ours. They had multiple pools which we liked. We didn't use it but near one. Neither one looked too busy which was nice. Once we got settled into our room we went to go see Pinz and Pints since they had arcade games, including a duckpin bowling. My son was really excited about that. When we went they had a complimentary drink and candy bar. Drinks they offer are limited but still decent. We did get some food there as well. The resort fee also felt hard to justify. The included amenities did not seem to match the extra charge. The two complimentary drinks were limited to Truly canned drinks or a small pour of hard lemonade or iced tea, which felt underwhelming for a resort of this caliber. We did enjoy the range balls, but as early risers, I would have appreciated access to the spa or pool earlier in the morning. Unfortunately, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed sheets had what looked like an oil or grease stain, the closet door was broken, and the overall furnishings and finishes felt worn and dated rather than well maintained. This is very much a family resort, so that is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Even at the adults-only Paloma Pool, children were jumping into the water and splashing guests' drinks while parents appeared unconcerned. That made it difficult to relax in what was supposed to be a peaceful setting. On a positive note, the entrance walkway, lobby, and open-air courtyard are beautiful and make for a strong first impression. Unfortunately, that charm does not extend to the guest rooms, which are clearly in need of a refresh.

This place is a true gem, maybe a hidden gem due to the negative reviews as of lately…read more My husband and I booked this place for a quick weekend getaway. I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

This is our 3rd time staying here. The FINAL TIME, I might add. Our last visit was back in early…read more2019 before it had been sold over and over again. It use to be so nice with a couple who owned and or managed it well. A nice happy hour with wine and snacks. Along with a hot cooked breakfast with a daily menu change. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. Now there's NOTHING! Not to mention it's a total dump. Dirty, rotted wood everywhere, broken glass, the exterior is peeling, the awning to welcome you is completely tattered and broken, trash in the parking areas, broken door handles, the bathroom was disgusting, etc... It's a complete DUMP! Do not waste your money. No more happy hour (well unless you want this-Pace picante sauce from a jar with stale chips and slushy margarita mix without tequila. The chips, salsa, and "margarita" mix were still sitting out for guests to "ENJOY" the next morning! It had been sitting out uncovered for over 15 hours! GROSS! No wonder why they're stale! Our original reservations were set and paid for April 2022. They canceled our reservations telling us they had to close for renovations until November! So we thought we'll wait until they're done. NO RENOVATIONS we're ever done! This place use to be a hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and stay at a Motel 6. At least it's updated and clean. Not to mention about 1/3 of the price. We paid $500 for two nights. Oh, and there's no one working the desk (at least from morning to around 3pm) so you're on your own if you need anything. The front desk guy is very nice, but this shit show place is out of his control. I feel bad for him!
