Was visiting town from Los Angeles for a long weekend and of course had to stop in at Wilma's for breakfast one of those mornings. I grew up with a second house in Palm Desert so we would frequent the other location often and it's always been a hit with me and my family. They are known for their very unique breakfast options as well as lunch. Service is always very friendly and fast and this location has a giant free parking lot attached and back. The restaurant itself is on the second floor. It has a full bar on one side and many different boost and tables on the other so I can host many different sized groups. For this visit, I started off with a Triple Berry Tart and really enjoyed it. Imagine a pop tart that's not quite as sweet but a little more cakey and that is it. It was a real nice treat for the meal. I followed up with Sky's the Limit, which is basically one of their larger breakfasts and a mix of everything. I would highly recommend. The eggs were cooked perfectly and everything about it just really hit the spot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone searching for a great brunch option. read more

Don't be fooled by the reviews! This is NOT the brunch spot you want to go to. While on a long waitlist at another nearby brunch restaurant, we stopped by to check the wait for 2 and were pleasantly surprised when it was under 15 minutes. At around 11:30 AM on a Sunday, we were quickly seated on the patio, which had a nice view of the downtown street, but sitting outside in the heat was brutal. I should've known the service would be poor when we sat unnoticed with menus for over 15 minutes. After ordering, our food took another 30 to 40 minutes to arrive. During that time, I had to flag down our waitress for sauce and another set of utensils because I had a feeling we'd be waiting even longer if I asked later. I also watched my entrée almost get delivered to the wrong table before they caught the mistake. Unfortunately, the food wasn't much better. I ordered the short rib eggs Benedict. The menu says it comes with a choice of bread, but that doesn't apply since the Benedict already comes on an English muffin. My poached eggs came out boiled. When I pointed it out, the waitress replaced it right away, but the second round of poached eggs were still overcooked, swimming in water, and completely unseasoned. The brisket was disappointingly dry, especially considering it's one of their specialties. The only redeeming parts of the dish were the hash browns and the English muffin. Honestly, you'd probably get a better eggs Benedict at IHOP. We also weren't the only table having issues. The table next to us had to repeatedly ask about their missing entrée and later their check after waiting even longer than we did. Another table received the wrong order, and the staff acted like correcting the mistake was an inconvenience. Even though you may get seated quick, this place isn't worth your time or your money. Cute but busy place located in the heart of downtown on the second floor. We checked in and the hostess said it was about 20-25 min wait, however we were called fairly quickly in about 10 min. Really cute bar area at the entrance, then you head over to the restaurant area. I had the California Benny and a pineapple mimosa, both were absolutely delicious. I have been to this restaurant once before and decided to come here again. Both times I've been here. The food is amazing. I am not sure if they make everything in house fresh but even by the way, my French toast was and my mom's muffin was made it seem like they might make them in house. Everything tasted perfect eggs, bacon, and French toast. My mom also got poached eggs and toast and she enjoyed it a lot. Although the menu isn't giant everything on it sounded good. It also seemed like a good place where you can get healthy options as well. Only bad part is since this restaurant is so great. The wait time was about 35 minutes at 11 AM. If you can sit outside, that was the best option because of the covering and misters although it was about 80° outside, it felt like perfect weather so would highly recommend the outdoor seating. read more

My friends and I were visiting from out of town and decided to give Wilma & Frieda's a try. For three people, our bill came to just under $100 including tip, so we were expecting a quality brunch experience. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Berry Pop Tart. It arrived warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We finished every bite. One of my friends also ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice, which was excellent. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. We ordered the Churro Waffle, and while it was okay, it was barely warm and lacked the crispy exterior you expect from a waffle. I had a churro waffle at another restaurant before and wasn't expecting the exact same experience, but this one waaaay fell short. The biggest letdown was the Chef Chad's Biscuits & Gravy, which the menu proudly claims are "the best." The dish arrived barely warm, and the gravy was extremely runny. All three of us agreed that it tasted more like something poured from a jar than homemade gravy. After a few bites, we couldn't continue eating it. We also ordered Benny's Bennie. Again, it arrived barely warm. I took one bite and immediately spit it into my napkin. The sauce had an unpleasant flavor and was so runny that it seemed more like canned sauce than freshly made hollandaise. None of us could eat it. The sausage patty we ordered to accompany our meal was also undercooked. We informed our waiter, who quickly brought out another one. Unfortunately, it appeared to have simply been sliced thinner and reheated, and it still wasn't fully cooked. We then requested bacon instead. It arrived almost immediately, but rather than being freshly cooked and hot, it was barely warm, oddly hard yet chewy at the same time. By the end of the meal, most of the food remained on our plates because we simply couldn't stomach eating it. The only items we completely finished were the Berry Pop Tart and the orange juice. To be fair, the restaurant itself was lovely. The atmosphere was welcoming, the bathrooms were clean, and our waiter provided excellent service throughout the meal. I truly wish the food had matched the quality of the service and atmosphere. Based on our experience, spending over $95 for a meal where most of the food was left untouched was disappointing. read more

We met two friends of ours here for lunch brunch. They live here in Palm springs and really like it. I can understand that. First off, we had great and I mean great service from Orville. My meatloaf melt with tater tots was excellent. The ranch dressing was really good, and I assume they make it. The other sandwich was a short rib melt with tater tots, and she liked it very much. One person ordered shrimp and grits with a biscuit and hash browns. She loved the grits, wished there were more than three medium size shrimp, but enjoyed them. The hash browns were frankly inedible, but she didn't care. The fourth dish was biscuits and gravy with hash browns. The hash browns were again inedible. His biscuit was just okay, the eggs and gravy were good. There were a couple of three stars, and a couple of four stars. I would be happy to return here and try some other dishes which looked good on the menu. read more

Easy parking and easy access with an elevator. No problem getting a table at noon on a Monday. Four of us decided to share a cinnamon roll/sticky bun ($8.50). A large slice and easily shared by 4. Delish! Only change I would make is to get it for dessert rather than an appetizer. My wife and I shared the chicken and crispy mustard bacon sandwich ($22). Served with a side of fries. Came here with my boyfriend who's been several times. We shared the mushroom and avocado omelette and the pork in green chile omelette. Both were absolutely delicious. Although between the two we both agreed that the green chile one was better. The hostess was sweet but our server was a bit slow. The table after us got their drinks first despite ordering after us. I found this restaurant while looking for breakfast with dog friendly patio seating. It's on the second floor and there's an awning for the patio. This was perfect as it was a rainy day compared to patio umbrellas at other places. There are heat lamps as well. The server's dropped by frequently to check on us. The food portions were large and well balanced. BJ's short rib scramble and mozzarella - lots of short rib and the mozzarella is in chunks instead of shredded. I tried the biscuit which was really soft and buttery. The fruit was all sweet, nothing was sour or bland. Bernie's chile verde with pork and brie omelet - the salsa had good flavor, but the amount of salsa was too much for me. It overpowered the rest of the omelet. The pork and brie was good, but I don't think it it was a good combination of flavors overall. I have frequent Ted this restaurant many times, especially when out of town guest came to visit us. I selected William and Frida's once again for the prior experiences we had had When the waiter eventually came to the table to take our order, we were simply ordering sandwiches and salads since it was lunch When the food was delivered, one of our guests was sitting there with no salad. We waited and waited and still waited, and eventually, the waiter came out and said he had forgotten to place the order. By the time our friend received his salad, we were pretty much done. Had a nice weekday brunch here. It was busy for a Friday morning. I had the banana churro waffle, which tasted exactly like a churro. There was a ton of banana on top too. My husband tried the French toast and really enjoyed it. I also got an iced latte. I'm an avid iced coffee drinker and it was just okay and rather small for the price, with too much ice. I could have skipped it honestly. The menu had options for everyone, although it was hard to stay dairy free. I could have asked and they may have accommodated, but I did not this time around. It's a good breakfast option in the area with plenty of yummy choices and friendly, efficient service. First time here and it was mediocre. Service was amazing, and we had little to no wait. Service was wonderful, the menu had unique breakfast and lunch combos. We were sat in the room with a lot of rubber ducks around, not sure of the theme but it didn't bother us at all. The reason for 3 stars was due to the moldy fruit we were served and the weird texture/ looking "grits". I couldn't take a photo of the bad fruit because they took it away once informed. Then returned say it was a moldy stem only. I don't care, moldy food is not on the menu. Don't try to justify why mold was on my fruit. They removed it from my tab and that was sufficient enough for me. The so called grits big no.no. that was not it. I would love to try this place again.
