Company dinner
Kaylani K.

Upon making a decision of where it would be best to have our company holiday dinner, Polanco came into decision making and we are so happy to have spent it there for the year 2024. Inside the Ayres Hotel. Parking was easy accessible and the hotel itself is a hidden gem with Polanco restaurant inside. The ambiance was amazing and our waitress was such a sweetheart. Overall our experience was great and the food was fresh. This place is wonderful for a date, children and groups. Must call in advance to advise of how many in your party and credit card to be put on file. If you are a no show they will charge your card $5-$10 a head of original amount you advise. Communication is key here. Also I tried to ask for the best table in house but honestly all tables are prime here so no need to ask

What a lovely surprisingly palate-pleasing spot inside the Ayres Hotel in Hawthorne. It's cutely decorated in an early American or Victorian style and looks like it has been rather recently remodeled. Modern Latin music piped through the place to add to the ambiance. Our server Alex recommended the rib eye chicharrones which were amazing! The pulpos were a close second. We had the iberico, which was salted and accompanied with grilled cabbage, seasoned with truffle oil, and garlic. So delish. The steak that came with the tablets was amazing too. So perfectly cooked and delectable. The divorcadas enchiladas were filled to the brim with meat and lobster. And slathered in three salsa sauces. Also very good. I live far from this restaurant but when I'm in the area, I'm going back for the chicharrones as my meal! Highly recommended and ask for Alex as your server. He won't steer you wrong! Enjoy!

This is a beautiful restaurant! 10/10 food, service, energy, everything! It's located inside a hotel but it still has its own entrance from the outside. There is a bit of a walk for the bathroom since you use the one in the hotel lobby. It's smaller than you'd think and there are some seating options that are much better than others. I think this is a perfect place to dress up and come for a drink but the food is still pretty good!

Went here last month to celebrate my son's birthday and his grandpa! Food was delicious and sides are enough to share. It pretty expensive but definitely worth the price. Everything came out hot and fresh

Came here for dinner last Friday night and was very impressed! It's inside the Ayres Hotel. Cute decor. Small & intimate. Great service. Shout out to Diana. Yummy food. Complimentary chips & yummy salsas. And they even have these cute to-go bag holders (think of mini purse holders). Brussel sprouts - BOMB! Queso fundido - yum Ribeye chicharron - delish Ribeye - flavorful Divorciadas enchiladas - ok Bread pudding - very good @travel_lifestyle_chow Free parking. Would definitely come back!

Polanco thank you for having us for our Mother's Day celebration. The food was great I really enjoyed the ribeye chicharrones! The drinks were 10/10. The server and Busser made the experience even better by making great recommendations on the different appetizers and main dish options. I will definitely be coming back!

We drove up to an Ayres Hotel, and we were thinking this is NOT what we were expecting, but we had tickets to a show at the nearby Intuit Dome and ventured in. WOW! The interior of the hotel was such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was similarly impressive. The menu had unique offerings. While I would not order the carne asada aguadulce again, the sea bass was fantastic. All dishes were beautifully presented. Service was friendly. I would highly recommend this if you're in the area near LAX, SoFi, the Forum or Intuit Dome.

Yes, definitely recommend, very well suited for date nights. The restaurant itself is small but really beautifully decorated and very good service. The food was delicious, we had the tomahawk steak with a side of the carrots and roasted Brussels sprouts. We had the Cadillac margaritas which were perfectly strong. It was such a nice valentine's day dinner! Definitely will return.

I really enjoyed this place. The ambience, food, and drinks, were all 5 stars. The restaurant is in a hotel, but it doesn't feel like it. Dim lighting, romantic feel, low music, but also good for parties of maybe 6-8. The chicarron and octopus were so flavorful! Both were very different flavors, but they paired well together. They were perfect. The steak in the surf and turf was also very good, properly seasoned and cooked well. The drinks were well-balanced. Can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu. There are a lot of sit-down restaurants in this area, but I would say that this is probably one of the best ones in terms of food and price point.

must have chicharrones

First of all I want to say Thank you to our Server Victor Perez he was amazing an very attentive. Furthermore, the food was beyond delicious was not expecting such a great flavor and taste surpassed our expectations, Now Ambiance was perfect place is mellow very nice and lighting is just perfect loved this place and will be definitely returning.

Side of rice and beans (comes with the enchiladas). This is the strawberry something drink. Bit the mocktail version.

Location - Note that the restaurant is attached/within a hotel. That through me off at first. I had to check Yelp outside photos to confirm lol. Parking - Parking is complimentary if you are simply eating at the restaurant so you may disregard the QR pay for parking signs posted. As you get closer to the restaurant you'll see the signs making note of the same. Reservations - Note that your whole party must be present before being seated but there's nice seating area while you wait. Ambiance - Warm low lighting, cozy. Great for a date night or catching up with friends. Drinks - Great drink selection. But since my friend gave up alcohol for Lent I opted out. But what is nice is that they can make any of their signature cocktails as a mocktail for only $10 which was tasty and I did partake in. I would recommend to cool it on the amount of ice though but I know how it is. Food - Our waitress recommended the Divorciadas ("Divorced") enchiladas - one filet mignon and one lobster. The former comes with red sauce and the latter with green. Tbh my favorite was the lobster so I'd probably just go back and order 2 of those but the filet mignon was good as well. All in all, it was nice dinner. Just happened upon it and I would recommend others go check it out!

Solid. I like the atmosphere and the ribeye chicharon but not likely to return due to a bigger focus on presentation than flavor.

Ask the Community - POLANCO Modern Mexican Steakhouse

Where is parking?

Ample parking in the hotel lot immediately outside.

Are the hours for Saturday accurate? 8am-1pm?

I happened to go Saturday, night. I am not sure if they are open in the morning. The restaurant is in the Ayres hotel. I am sure if you call the hotel, the front desk can give you the hours.

Is the restaurant Child friendly?

I think it leans more adult with the amazing bar and cocktails. And they don't offer kids meals to the best of my knowledge. But for older kids, I imagine they might enjoy if you're ok paying the adult prices for meals. I'm certain the restaurant…

Is there live shows?

No.

Do you have a brunch & when?

Yes- Sat and Sun from 8 am till 1:30 pm. The restaurant website has all menus, and information.

Is there a dress code?

Casual is good .

Can you post the menu with prices please?

Posting prices would mean updating website constantly. Maybe someone will post a picture of the menu (but, if you have to ask...)

Is there free parking?

Yes free parking, it is the hotel parking. The restaurant is inside the hotel.

First, just like most casual Mexican restaurants you are greeted with house made salsa and chips to snack on while you study the menus for your meal. The salsa is very fresh and the chips are not, thank goodness, over salted. It's a perfect starter! I enjoyed the meal option of four chicken flautas with rice, beans, and perfectly portioned guacamole and sour cream. You are able to make your own choice of meat stuffing, which I love, knowing that the flautas are freshly made. I chose to have chicken and found it to be perfectly fried, not overly seasoned, which some places do. I like that you can actually taste the chicken and not just spice. I also had the horchata to drink, and I loved it! The service is wonderful, with many families flocking to the restaurant for that homemade feel for dinner. The staff has always been kind enough to offer a refill of your drink/soda to go if you wish. Kindness from the staff is a real highlight of Raul's. The ambiance of being at home is a plus for me. There are a few handicap parking spots available in the small adjoined parking lot, with easy wheelchair access through the front door. There is also plenty of parking spots located on the street and in the available parking lot located in the middle of Hawthorne Blvd. There is a television with captions on for those that are HOH, hard of hearing. Being a hearing aide user, I sincerely appreciated this. I consider this a hidden gem in Hawthorne.

Its a few blocks down from my Mom's house and right across the street from Hawthorne High School. I went with their 4 taco combo, shredded beef. How were they? Pretty freaking tasty! Right when I took the lid off the container, they looked similar to old school El Tarasco tacos. Red sauce on top, fried shell etc. Even the chips they give you were full fried tortillas. Bomb! The tacos were tasty, but they lost a little texture and crisp from the delivery. They would be better if ordered at the shop. Still, even then, I enjoyed every bite of them. They had lots of shredded beef in them, tons of lettuce and cheese and that red sauce. Damn fine tacos! I will definitely be back to eat inside there the next time I go see my Mom. Good stuff!
