A Saturday night visit. We wanted a spot that wasnt overly crowded at 745pm. We were seated right away, but they initially placed us at a table in the middle that was too small for our group of six, so we requested a booth along the wall instead. They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

This Star Crab in Upland is definitely worth trying! I have gone to different Star Crab locations and this one stood out. The shrimp was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The seasoning had just the right amount of spice, and every bite was delicious. The portions were generous, the food came out quickly, and the customer service was friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a great seafood spot, I highly recommend Star Crab in Upland. I'll definitely be coming back!

Fried Calamari appetizer. The fried calamari tasted good, but let's be real -- it was more fries than calamari.

To my taste, this is by far the best Star Crab location I've been to. The owner and staff were genuinely friendly and helpful from start to finish, which already sets the tone. The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

We ordered takeout and the lady was so kind and thorough. We ordered the shrimp bucket with double clams and an extra order of shrimp. We got our shrimps peeled and head off. We ordered the medium level Full House sauce. So much sauce and the corn and potatoes were also soo good. Not a fan of sausages in general but the ones here are good. The price is reasonable and the food is clean and plentiful. Will definitely come back and order more.

I was in town for a day and stopped by this location. i was greeted when i walked in. the lady in the front was doing it all so we had a slow start to ordering but she was so nice. the restaurant feels really homey. i started with a raspberry tea which is free refills. i never had crawfish in my boil so i tried it with the shrimp full house sauce and i think medium spice it was so good. The corn was great my potatoes were a little too soft for my liking. if im ever back in town ill definitely be back.

Let's start with the inside... Small, themed, clean and up to par. Service: we happened to be the first people to arrive with a child. They were running late (4:30, opens at 2:30), very friendly and accommodating as well thinking we were waiting for a long time but we assured them that we were not and just arrived as well. The food was standard. Now that 911 sauce and Crazy sauce I had used for dipping definitely grows into a strong heat so if you're into spicy then that's the heat you really want. The lemons are rationed but I understand that since since I see other places that carry a bunch of waste. We had a little back and forth about the sauce since extra was for bag only but once we got it together that's when the bowls came out and it made all the sense in the world. The wonton soup! Amazing, as well as the extra fried chicken. Places usually don't get it but they got that extra frying to perfection. Crab and scallops were cooked well, the lobster just wasn't done right and came out in its own bag. Once they figure that out, it would have been a tip top meal. 3/5 stars just for the lobster as it was the most expensive thing we got and don't forget you won't spare any expense as crab was 36/lbs, scallops 35/lbs, I believe the lobster was 40 or 50/lbs so all in all for two and a baby.... Leftovers were brought home happened to be around 236+ a 30$ tip! Will definitely still come back though!!! 3/5 for the lobster and late upon opening and service was good just a bit lacking waiting on us to figure everything out for them.

Small location big flavors! Loved the customer service and the quality of the shrimp! They have garlic bread which is the game changer here. It's a small corner restaurant but you feel at home. They have lots of options and lemon pepper fries are our thing. Highly recommend the full experience with all flavors mixed in ingredients. Prices are fair for a group of 4 with 4 pounds of shrimp + drinks snd Michiladas $150 Tab. 10 stars!

I seriously drive 40 minutes just to eat at Star Crab in Upland California , and it's worth it every single time. Their Cajun shrimp Full House is hands down the best -- perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and always cooked just right. On top of the amazing food, the service is always incredible. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. If you're in Upland, this spot is a must-try! I wish I posted a picture of the food, but it was too late. Everything was done.

Love this place! The owner is so sweet. My family was craving seafood so we decided to stop by on a Saturday night. It gets very busy on the weekends. The space is pretty small so keep that in mind if you have a larger group. There were a few large groups that came in after us and waited a long time for a table because they had to find smaller tables to put together. We ordered Calamari for an appetizer and the "Blue Star" family bucket with an extra 2 lbs of shrimp. The Calamari was decent and I wish they gave more calamari than french fries. The seafood was cooked perfectly and their sauce is sooo good!

I have been craving crawfish all day but I have been at work so I decided to do some research and found this place and called to make a to go order. I picked it up within 30min and the food was delicious! My cravings for crawfish had been satisfied. They also put so much sauce it's perfect! Now I have extra sauce I can use for home recipes .

SO GOOD! 3 pounds of shrimp, 1pound of crawfish for 2 people! About $106 not bad!

The owner is the sweetest human! She goes out of her way to make sure everything is good enough for each customer. I love the quirky things she does like serving refills with a measuring cup, she sits down with you to take your order and she can have a conversation! Also, it's so nautical in here! Her decorations are cute and silly. And the food is sooooo good. I've tried serval seafood boils around town and nothing compares to this authentic flavor!

AMBIANCE 5.5/10…read more After spending way too long trying to decide what to eat, we finally settled on seafood boil and landed on The Big Catch because of their all-you-can-eat option. Walking in, our first impression wasn't great the building looked a little run down. Once inside, though, the vibe improved. It had a rustic sports bar feel with TVs everywhere, an open bar, and a seafood station. Nothing fancy, but not terrible. EXPERIENCE 7/10 The service was one of the better parts of the visit. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and recommend a few items. The food took a little while to come out. BTW there's a 90 minute limit after we were seated and the second round of our seafood took 30 minutes to come out (they apparently forgot our order) and they proceeded to tell us we had last call right after our second round of food barely got to the table. Not sure if that's done on purpose but we really didn't really appreciate that. Overall though, the staff definitely made the experience better. THE FOOD 5/10 Here's where things started to fall apart. The first all-you-can-eat platter came with two snow crab clusters, 1/2lb crawfish, 1/2lb mussels, 1/2lb peeled shrimp, plus unlimited sides. One thing that caught us off guard and maybe we just missed it on the menu is that after your first round, you can no longer order the snow crab or peeled shrimp. That was disappointing since those ended up being the best seafood options on the table. The snow crab was solid, and the peeled shrimp were surprisingly good the texture was crunchy and we didn't get any fishy smell or flavors. Everything after that... not so much. Round two included whole shrimp, clams, and scallops. The portions were noticeably smaller, and almost everything tasted like it had been frozen for too long. The crawfish lacked freshness, the whole shrimp had the same issue and were mushy without the initial crunch additionally the shrimp was hard to peel which makes us think that it was POSSIBLY reheated, and the scallops were tiny with a strong fishy flavor that made them hard to enjoy. Even the House/Cajun seasoning didn't do much to save it. It was too oily and honestly just tasted like salt, there was no spiciness either and we got the hot flavor. Ironically, the sides ended up carrying the meal. The cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy, which balanced out some of the heavier seafood, and the sweet potato fries were honestly one of our favorite things we ordered. And one last thing... somehow even the water tasted off. What We'd Order Again Snow Crab Clusters Peeled Shrimp Fish Taco Sweet Potato Fries Cucumber Salad Sausage Corn Skip These Whole Shrimp Clams Mussels Scallops Crawfish House/Cajun Seasoning Cajun Fries Cajun Wings Boiled Egg Water Final Rating If you're going for the all-you-can-eat seafood, don't expect premium quality. The first round is decent, but once the crab and peeled shrimp are off the table, the meal drops off pretty quickly. Would we come back? Definitely not. We ended up paying 90$ for 2 people which you can argue is good since it's an AYCE seafood meal but afterwards after speaking to the waiter we found out the shrimp and crawfish was indeed frozen that along with all the other disappointing food doesn't make us feel like it was worth the money. Overall Gassington Rating: (5/10)

In fact my wife bit into the first clam in our bag and it had so much sand [or something granule] she was done. I got some too but I kept going through. We thought one pound of shrimp would not have been enough so we asked for 1.1/2 pounds but they would not allow it. We decided to stay with one pound only and thank goodness because we were not happy with the taste or the sand. The other thing we did not like was that the menu had almost no prices. All of it said "Market Price". Why have a menu. I get some places have market price on lobster or something rare but everything in this place can't be market price. And finally, the prices here are way higher than some other places we like to visit but the quality was nowhere near what we are used to. I was shocked that the place was pretty busy and the service was good but we won't be coming back here.

The poor experience began at the host stand. I had a reservation for 1:15 PM but arrived early and was sat at 12:56 PM. When I got to the table and asked who "M" was, she dismissively replied that they "just put down an alphabet." When asked about drinks, I said "water for now," and every time I said "thank you" to our server, I was met with complete silence and zero acknowledgment. Once my guest--who is white--joined me at the table, the dynamic shifted entirely. He received 95% of the server's warmth, eye contact, and attention. The only time the server actively engaged with me was to take my physical food order. Even the food had issues--our first crab cake was served overcooked. Because my guest was the one who pointed it out, the manager came over and addressed him to replace it. While the manager's interaction was a bit better, the server's dismissive attitude toward me never improved for the rest of the meal. To top it off, I was the one who paid the bill. When the server returned my credit card, instead of handing it back to me, she chose to place the presenter book directly in the middle of the table. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. During Mimi and Raina meet and greet and 3 lbs. shrimps eating challenge…read more ( of course Raina won the competition) Order at the counter, indoor and outdoor seatings option. My friend and I were charged $1 extra on some items and when questioned the young lady says they have a new price but was not able to make the changes on the menu on the counter, the updated price is on the menu board above. When we did look up the menu board price did not reflect the changes. we looked baffled, I mean it is $1 difference it's not going to break us . It's more of the attitude when asked .. ( I get it , it was chaotic and busy ) Grilled Fillet of Sole , 2 sides of collard greens and red beans and rice , fish cooked perfectly and seasoned well, collards greens were tender but not overly mushy . The staffs were very helpful and friendly. They offered the following Fish Types: - Red Snapper - Filet of Sole - Catfish Filet - Salmon - Whiting - Tilapia - Shrimp - Oysters They offered the following Sides: - French Fries - Hush Puppies - Collard Greens - Red Beans & Rice - Yams - Potato Salad - Mac & Cheese - Fried Okra - Green Salad For the Fishes, you can have it either Fried or Grilled. I ordered the Lunch Meal. I had the Catfish Filet (Fried) and for the side, I had the Red Beans & Rice. The service was quick. The Catfish Filet was so good. Had a slight crunch to it and the flavor was so delicious. The Red Beans & Rice was ok, not too bad. It was a little light on flavor. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the food here. It was a fun day. Got to see Raina did her 3 lbs Shrimps eating contest (she won!) Also saw Mimi and Mr. Stretch. There was live music with the DJ, and everyone there was having such a great time!
