All their savory tamales are great. Their masa is flavorful and not dry or mushy. Most of their fillings are good too. The chile/cheese is my favorite. They were out of the elote ones though when I went. I suspect that's also very good. Wanted to try the pina for the sweet ones, but that was out as well. So I got the strawberry. Unfortunately, it was weirdly pink, and had a very artificial taste to it. Even the kids didn't want it. Their descriptor for the flavor was "cough syrup." I heard about this place from my sister so I decided to stop by since it's close by my workplace. I tried the pork tamale, and it was delicious! The meat was seasoned and the red sauce was very good. The café de olla coffee was good, the location is a small hole in the wall with only outside seating. I'm a picky chilaquiles critic, so I'm sure most people would be delighted, but I felt the white raw onion overpowered the flavor. The meat was okay, what I call cheap meat, with an off texture and flavor. The salad verde was delicious, and the rice was okay it was very soft and mushy like bean consistency. There were too many raw pieces of white onion that also threw off the flavor. Overall, it was a good average plate of chilaquiles, hence the 3 stars. The location was clean, but there was no menu when I arrived, so I just ordered what I wanted without knowing what was available. read more

I was craving tamales, as I don't usually get to have them, they were overall good tamales. I had Pork/cheese/Pina, the pork was my least favorite, while the cheese was my favorite of the three. The cool thing about this place is, now you can have tamales anytime you crave it, instead of waiting til Fall/Winter. read more

This buffet is ridiculously good!!! Everything is super fresh. The seafood salads/ceviche were amazing. Every single entree was fantastic. Beans and rice are very good. I'm a huge fan of this place... very reasonably priced... $25.. for a multitude of choices. Handmade tortillas and they make quesadillas.. don't get them.. you won't stop eating them!! Honestly, I was skeptical about the place because of the prices and the lack of good pictures but decided to take one for the team and try them out. I didn't think anything could justify the price of the tamales but honestly they are larger than most and hefty. I would say it's about 1.5 times the size of a regular tamal. I got the green chicken and red pork and they were both really great ! I also had the asada sope, while I'm not sure if the sope was made in house or not the flavors were still great. Also i can't forget about their guacamole , it was delicious ! Definitely recommend people try it out ! read more

Living in the IE for over 15 years, it's hard to find a good authentic place. This place is actually under new management and they have a variety of Mexican dishes. Everybody is very polite super friendly. The food is really good and I am picky about food they actually have something going on Friday through Sunday. They have a buffet now where you get to try a little bit of everything. The ambience is great. The buffet consist of many Guisados and posole also seafood and homemade taco station. read more

There are no seating tables inside so it is more of an order to go spot. Once I walked in, I was quickly greeted with the staff the tamale menu is posted up front and the staff told me they also do tacos and burritos. This was not posted on the menu so not sure if it was just for the day or part of the standard menu. I ordered a mix of chicken, pork, and cheese tamales. Pork and cheese were my favorite. They come out straight from the steamer so it is nice and hot when you receive them. Tamales had a good balance of masa and good amount of meat/cheese which was definitely a plus. The chicken was a tad bit dry, but the pork and cheese were moist and delicious. Will definitely be back for those two flavors and interested in trying the strawberry and pineapple. read more

Recently moved to the area, and I've had the pleasure of coming to this establishment three times. On all occasions i've ordered the same, the Chilaquiles Rojos and Tamales Verdes de Pollo and Rojos de Puerco. I haven't had a dry one yet! They're very filling and have the perfect ratio of masa and protein . Chilaquiles portions are also great and the ingredients come served in a bowl, you can ask to have them separated as well and they'll kindly do so. The Chips were nice and crisp , sauce was tasteful with an enjoyable spice, Eggs were perfectly made and it had the right amount of cheese! Pepino agua also hit the spot. I notice they cater as well. Seems to be a family owned business and they're very courteous and welcoming. I believe i had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was so nice and made me feel like if i was visiting one of my aunts , just as home. It's in a quiet corner. I was simply inquiring about a dozen tamales and the woman I talked to over the phone was rude as $&@#. Not to mention, she said a dozen costs $52 plus tax. The crazy thing is, with the exception of the elote tamale (their best one and the reason for the second star), these tamales are okay, but not as great like everyone else on here is saying and their champurrado is low-key watered down. So tasty, we sent our uncle to buy some and he loved it so much he purchased 2 1/2 dozen of each flavor for Christmas. Our cousin has already devoured 6 in one sitting bc he loved them so much. The sizes of these are big, the meat to masa ratio is perfect, meat and masa are both MOIST, and the spice is perfect. We are local neighbors and see it on a daily!! So we have been excited waiting for this place to open. They are great! Definitely give them a shot!! We are very picky with where we get our tamales from and this place is heaven sent!! Small place but tamales are huge and very tasty. We also got the menudo and I have to say it was terrible the meat was chewy and had very little of it- mostly broth.
