My husband periodically swings by here to treat me to a beautiful bouquet. Not so much since the pandemic, since he never leaves the house, but I was feeling epically lousy recently and he offered to go to the store to grab some headache medicine for me and did me the kindness of swinging by Polderman's on the way home to grab a beautiful bouquet. Definitely a day-maker! I've got admit I was nervous to see this pop up on our credit card statement, since it had about five birds of paradise and three gigantic gerbera daisies (truly the most vibrant and gigantic blooms I've seen -- they reminded me of prima ballerina tutus that were perfectly starched!) I would have expected that these eight stems alone, let alone any filler, would run a pretty penny. But when I glanced at our credit card statement, it was under $30. I can't tell you how many times I see people post photos of bouquets on Yelp and say how disappointed they are with what they got for the amount they paid (NOT at this particular business, just in general). The spot really bring the wow factor for a very affordable price in my opinion. That said, my husband probably picked out each bloom by himself and knows exactly what I like -- but the fact that they have flowers this lovely and don't charge an arm and a leg for them is definitely good info to have. There really are quite a few fabulous businesses and this particular stretch of Portage Road by West and Austin lakes -- I highly recommend checking out Polderman's, Trove, and West Lake pharmacy/gift shop If you're in this neck of the woods visiting Presidential Brewing, The Cove, or Latitude 42. read more

Most unethical business I've ever dealt with. They phones a recipient to advise that payment for the delivery was declined. This was after multiple calls texts and screenshots confirming order and billing. I ordered for a friend who is going through a divorce and now three individuals have issues to deal with. I am contacting the local BBB regarding this unnecessary conversation as well as leaving review on the website and calling them with my disgust of their handling this. My husband surprised me with flowers last Friday (5/31). They were delivered at my work! He ordered them in the morning just hoping they would be delivered before 4pm. I got them when I returned from lunch! It was perfect. As far as the bouquet goes, there literally could not be a more perfect bouquet for me. I absolutely love it. The pinks and purples! What's not to love? It's almost been a week and the roses have finally fully bloomed. These flowers have lasted! I have changed the water a few times and put them in the fridge when I could. I am so confused by the interaction we had here but won't be returning. We always got our flowers as we live close by and my boys loved helped dad pick them out. Never had a problem before and always had friendly service but that was not the case today. The whole time we were in the shop, we were being told what WASNT available and that we couldn't go to look at the flowers because they had a lot of Mother's Day orders. Then when he conceded to us being able to look, made a point to tell us we had to be careful as if my kids were being crazy and we weren't being responsible parents. My husband was holding my oldest sons had and my youngest was on our heals. They never even tried to touch anything. Again, just continued to tell us what we couldn't have. It just made me feel uncomfortable and upset so we left. I don't know if there's new management but it was a terrible experience. read more

Be sure to ask about the extra charges they aren't open about - my order ended up being nearly $30 more that we discussed on the phone. Also the arrangement delivered was similar to the photo online but hardly a match like most places can do. I ordered flowers for my mother (at my 97 yr. old father's request) for their 75 Wedding Anniversary. My mom was thrilled with the Romance bouquet. It was gorgeous! There have been times when you order flowers on line, and the delivery is nothing like the picture. These flowers were even MORE beautiful than the picture. I have ordered flowers from Polderman's several times. They have met every delivery on time. Recently I ordered a Premium version of "Cotton Candy" and received something not half as rich as the standard price arrangement on their web page. Their web site does not have an email address for me to send pictures and express my disappointment. I will have to find a florist who cares about the details. read more
