Pedicure - 2/5 I had to ask him twice to cut my nails, if I didn't say anything he would have kept them long. Polish was thick and had lines in it as soon as I left (put on too thick). He barely filed my nails too and they were all crooked and just didn't look good. They checked my nails after 9 minutes and said I was good to go (I shouldn't have listened to them), when I got home I noticed my pinky polish had come off. So, by the time I was home I already had 3 nails in bad shape. It honestly seemed like he had never done a pedicure before. Such a waste of $$ Builder Gel Mani - 3/5 Done way too quickly with little attention to detail. The salon was empty, I wish they had spent more time and care. Polish was not all the way to the cuticle, multiple nails were super crooked and overall they are way too chunky and not natural looking at all. After having haircut. I walked into Polish Me Nail Spa for a simple service, a manicure & buff shine. Upon walking in, there was no one at the front to greet but I'm familiar with salon/spa atmosphere & not all places have receptionist. No biggie! I was called over & seated in a row where other patrons were getting their nails services. The space looked nice & well maintained upon walking in but I was seated & what seemed like "the broken one" station. Where the arm rest had broken off the screws & you had to lean on it with pressure to keep it attached/in place. There were multiple stations for nails & spa chairs for pedicures. I was squeezed in - physically & for my service. I sat next to a lady getting her nails done by the owner of the Nail Spa. He seemed like a kind guy. Personable with his client & doing really great work on said client. He greeted me & got me settled while whomever was doing my service prepared to come over. Briefly greeted or made eye contact with by my nail tech, whose name I do not recall. I likely, won't, be needing it. Roughly asked what I wanted began my services. Nails were clipped down to a length which was not consulted. Understandably, I had a broken pinky nail, the shortest of them all, that was used to gage. I'm a man so I guess I get short nails. Wanting some of the whites to be left, short but not this short. I can get over that. This un-bargained length of nails made filing a little sensitive. I sat through it. Still understating they'll grow out having a good shape. However, now they are so short my finger tips are sensitive. It hurts to pull up my zipper. Now, where my OCD kicks in, is when she scuffs up my nails like a toddler on the cement with your brand new Britney Spears CD, knowing nonetheless that they're ruining your life! I'm thinking this is part of the process & it'll get buffed out in the other steps. I get manicures but don't often pay much attention because I'm usually relaxed. What I do know is that they usually use a 4 sided buffer that has all the sides needed to complete the buff/shine service. This was not the case. She had what appeared to be a cut-in-half orange buffer that had suuuper course grits/texture on it & then switching to a two sided buffer. I inquired about the large swirls/scratches in the surface of my nails & asking if they'd disappear in the remaining steps. Still trusting she knew what she was doing but growing concerned for the outcome of this service I had yet to pay for. She acknowledged my question by stating "I'll do it again . . I'll do another pass" indicating she'd do the double buffer thing again. Still hoping the swirled scratches on my nails would disappear with an additional pass. She does this process again, minus the course buffer. Slight improvement but there are deep scratches on the surface of all of my nails. She completely scraped them up using a tool that wasn't part of that process. This is super disappointing & such a bummer because I am reminded daily of the experience I had with finger tips that are still sensitive. I've been to multiple nail spas that treat men different because they think we don't know services like when a step is skipped out on or that "men don't care" as much as a customer, is how I feel I was treated. I truly believe other patrons appeared they were having quality service done with more complicated services but I had a different experience with a simple service. Even good reviews on Yelp. Not sure what happened but it was absolutely bogus. Now time to heal my BITTEN NAIL LENGTH NAILS. *OUCH* I still paid & tipped for my service but I won't return. Best Wishes! read more

My sister in law planned getting all of our nails done prior to her wedding so they made appointments for 8 girls for a Friday morning. It was busy but they were very efficient and accommodating in taking care of all of us. A few of us just got pedicures, some just manicures, and a couple with both. We were all in and out of there in about 2 hours. I really enjoyed their facility and their massage chairs. I was able to work remotely while getting my pedicure done and they had a wide variety of colors. They do mainly gel manicures, no dipping and they have their regulars. I found it odd that pricing isn't listed anywhere inside the store or on yelp. Four of us had an appointment to do manicures and pedicures with 1 person getting an acrylic fill. Not only was the place sweltering hot inside (they eventually saw us all fanning ourselves and turned the AC on) but the interactions with staff were lacking. We were told that they do not apply 2 layers of polish (which is pretty standard at every nail salon we have ever gone to) as they want it to dry. This applied not only to regular polish but also Gel polish (which is ludicrous because gel is hardened under a UV Light). Where we pointed out issues with coverage of paint, we were told it is what it is and they refused to put a second coat stating that once they put the s top coat it won't be noticed. Well... that's a lie! It's extremely noticeable. I wish that was the worst of it... they did horrible work on all 4 of us (hands and toes). We ended up paying $115 for an acrylic fill with gel polish (which is about $40-$50 more than we have ever been charged for much better service & end results) and $75 for each regular polish mani & pedi. Although the massage that they do with these services were nice, the rest of the visit here was horrible. We tried asking for corrections to the horrible job they did and were met with stiff resistance by 1 woman and Henry who were both doing manicures. Henry said less than 6 words to me while he was working on my hands and cut my cuticle to the point where it bled. He said "sorry I made you bleed" I had high hopes for the end result to be great given the praise others have given Henry. I was extremely disappointed. In total, I paid just under $400 and am appalled that they thought the job they did was not just acceptable but "good". 10 out of 10 do not recommend this place. The photos attached are 30 minutes after I left their salon. Worst nail job I've ever had. Isn't it against the law to not have prices listed somewhere? read more

My Grandaughter who is 11 recommended this place to me along with a couple friends. I have a normal place Ingi to which I love but the past two time the girl i use was to busy. We happened to be in North Bay and decided on a last minute gel manicure. I explained to the owner who first greeted me, some nails needed added attention as they had cracked. No problem, I was assured. Gal starts on my nails and I inform her the of the same and show her a few fingernails. She asks about nail length and I told her they were fine as is. She then proceeded to file my nails down further. There was no true cuticle cleaning, no under nail cleaning. Just a rush to remove some older gel (by soaking my nails in some liquid and then sanding it off) not a true acetone wrap to each nail. Just rush. Rush. And then quickly apply new polish. It truly was soak hands, vigorously brush the nail bed and at least three times she had told me, "relax your hand". Well, I don't feel relaxed. It is a mall location. So I don't expect outstanding service but just providing basics, cleaning and cutting is a must. Also, we pay the same $35 amount in the City and have never felt rushed. Here, it was a rush job. Nails are blah. Didn't bother to fix nail. All things, I can commonly ask for and commonly receive at my own spa in the City isn't provided here. The polish was dried to the touch, yet it would smear when I went to pay. I am not one who would entrust my wallet to anyone and was shocked when the manager said she will take my wallet out to pay for me. The person who did my manicure tried to redo the affected fingers but again it smeared. Asked for almond shaped, which also went ignored until the owner came over all annoyed and put out and took over. Again I felt like I had done something wrong... Charged me to take the polish off even though I STILL was getting a manicure... odd The dremmel file caused my nails to weaken , like I knew they would from the electric file, which again I asked them NOT TO USE, and had to be cut short just before an event a couple days later because they started to break. Maybe I just came here on the wrong day but it seemed they overbooked themselves trying to make the maximum amount of money they could which unfortunately compromised their customer service.... I had an appointment at 12:00pm and they didn't start on me until 12:37pm. The staff was also very expressionless, quiet, and not to mention slightly rude when my friend asked her nail tech a question. As far as pricing & work it was pretty fair although they do charge an extra $15 to take off dip simply because they "don't like it" which is why they don't offer it. They do a $5 up charge for designs and an extra $10 for gel. This salon is a hidden gem (across from Ulta next to Five Guys). Henry is the best! Seriously a miracle worker and kept me laughing the whole time. I have been trying to find a good nail salon in Petaluma since moving here and decided to make an appointment based on other reviewers pictures. Henry encouraged me to find a nail design online and promised that they could recreate it--except Henry's custom design was even better. They follow through on their policy of quality over quantity and he made sure at every step that I was happy with his work. They were very welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Everyone was socially distanced, wearing masks, and the place was very clean. I'm going to start this with at first I was extremely concerned how my nails would turn out and how they would treat us but by the end was very happy with everything. My boyfriend's little sister said she had the exact same thoughts at first. We called to reserve our appt for 6 pm and were a bit late; good thing though as they were finishing up with another pairs pedicure. We were assisted by the owners Tam and Henry. Tam assisted my bf little sister while Henry assisted me. At first he almost seemed rushed, barely filing the top of my nails and way more focused on the other pair although they had finished paying and were finishing up a conversation. After they left he quietly worked while talking to Tam. At first the nails were THICK. I was dreading how it would end up. He told me it was due to my short nails (I peel/bite them) to prevent them from falling off quickly. When he started shaving them down is when he started to talk a bit and ask my opinion. He noticed I wasn't too happy and kept working on it until I said I was happy out loud. It seems they only have one set of gel nail examples so I had to wait until my bf little sister was done choosing. He was pleasant to talk to and not pushy about forcing conversation. He had me double check my nails before putting them in the UV and was complimenting the style I chose and color. They were both friendly and in the end we were both very happy with our nails. The lotion they put on smelled super good and cuticle oil was the Blossom brand. Mine were $65 and hers were $60. I have expectations this place will be even better once things open back up and they have more nail technicians to assist. It was a rocky start but in the end we were happy with the results and experience. I would definitely come back and suggest going here! Side notes: The shop was super clean and the decor had a open, light and feminine vibe to it. I love that the sink is in the same area/ right next to where your nails are done. I needed a quick and spur of the moment mani/pedi this week and after calling around to my usual spot I normally go when visiting home and finding it booked, a quick Yelp search and a phone call later I had an appointment at Polish Me in less than fifteen minutes. It was exactly what I needed, a good but no fuss regular polish job. Two women helped me out doing my mani and my pedi at the same time which helped me get out the door quick and they did a great job.
