I specifically booked an appointment at 4:15 with a particular nail technician -- that was the entire point of my visit. If I couldn't get her, I wouldn't have booked here at all. I later saw on her Instagram story that she had an opening at 3:30 she was trying to fill. Had anyone bothered to contact me -- a call, a text, an email, anything -- I could have slid into that slot or taken my business to Adore Nails or Memorial Nail Care, both of which maintain a full staff capable of doing amazing designs. Instead, I received zero communication. I showed up to my appointment only to be told they don't honor that particular nail technician's bookings and that their systems haven't been updated to reflect that. So you're actively allowing clients to book a specific technician through your online portal, knowing full well those preferences will be ignored? That's not a miscommunication -- that's a scam- a bait and switch. The available staff could not do designs, which I was fully aware of -- which is exactly why I chose this technician specifically. I was left with no real options and settled for a plain manicure. My cuticles were done well, but my "oval" nails are not oval, and my gel is visibly bumpy -- not a smooth finish in sight. I could have done better myself. Unfortunately I didn't have the time, which is precisely why I booked with someone I knew would make it worth it -- only to be completely ignored. Fix your booking system. Contact your clients when there's a change. Don't advertise a service you have no intention of honoring. Your front desk girl is very patient, very sweet, and was very apologetic. She should not have had to apologize for what is clearly a failure of management. read more

I have been there twice and they have disappointed me everyyyy time. The first time my gel x nails fell off the next day! The second time I just left and they did a terrible almond shape all the nails look different and the polish is lumpy. I'm very disappointed and I payed 140 for my toes and a nail refill. If you at all care about how your nails come out I do not recommend. I didn't say anything bc I shouldn't known better after my first experience with them and the lady was very sweet. I've been coming to this salon for about two years and never had an issue until now. I asked the receptionist if regular polish would match my shellac color and was told it was the same. When I got home, they were completely different shades. I called at 6:36 PM after getting home at 6:25 and the receptionist was very rude, blamed me and the nail tech (which they had nothing to do with it) and said I should have checked before leaving. The salon closes at 7 so there wasn't enough time to go back, and I also explained I'm going into labor the next morning. I asked for a partial refund or even just a credit, but she kept blaming me. When I asked to speak to a manager, she hung up. I also called back at 6:43 and no one answered. Very disappointing customer service from the front desk, especially after being a loyal client for years. Never had an issue with the previous receptionist (Sam) before, she was always very nice and helpful. Cute nail salon not far from me. Take appointments or you can walk in. I was a walk in with about a 10 min wait. I was able to soak my feet while waiting, unfortunately the water was not hot; let's say it was warm on its way to cool. Since they have the plastic liners I didn't even ask to redo it. Im sure they would've. I was offered water, no other options. Not a fan of the chairs. They're cute and comfy but no massage action. Got myself a express pedicure which was $38 and 10% due to this month being my birthday. I would normally get gel but the up charge was up... $20. This is more than Im willing to pay. New to the area and after reading a 4 star review I arrived to the location with great confidence! The staff was very nice and the environment was well maintained. Upon a brief discussion with the front desk, it was explained that acrylic/clear was $55 and for gel an extra $10. This was not a problem as I was excited for this experience! I sat down with the nail tech and she was also nice! When applying the nail extensions I knew everything was going to be a disaster but I continued to trust.. I was cut on my cuticle and the application of the powder was poor. The filing was horrible even after attempting to explain this to the tech.. it was very much so ignored. I changed the whole vision of the nail due to the quality of the nails and just got a solid color which the application of the polish was not to bad after telling the tech to paint a few extra nails to even out the color as it was a bit transparent (funny bunny). I spent just about $90 for this set with tip include and left the business very dissatisfied. My fingers were sore from the cut and the over filing on my skin. I could not go another minute with looking at the nails.. I immediately went another nail shop to get them fixed! If you choose to try this business I hope your finished outcome is better than mine. read more

I came in today for a Pedi. Beautiful salon. I ask for Luxe Pedi. I asked her to soak my polish off instead of drilling it off. She was all over the place. The drill hit my skin multiple times. ( She applied cotton with no foil. I don't know how they were trained to remove polish, but from other experiences, you must lock in so the heat can help lift the gel lacquer.) She continued to tell me to wait to give her a chance. Very unhappy, I asked her to stop. The front desk had no concerns about why I cut the service short--and charged me 15 for a polish removal. Being newer to Houston I spent some time looking for a nail shop I loved. After some tries I tried out Polish Parker & Roe, and have gone here ever since!! My usual is a gel mani and regular pedi, and they always do a good job. Even when I try something new they nail it :). Plus there's plenty of colors for whatever you could imagine! It usually runs me around 50$ after tip for a mani, and about the same for a pedi (guesstimating), which I think is good for quality service. I usually see the same 2 people (Harry and Tammy), who always do the best job! He did my birthday nails which turned out way better than I was expecting!! (Pic included) They are super easy to get an appointment as well, which is nice for someone like me who is always busy. A couple weeks ago I decided to treat myself and get a solar manicure. They were absolutely gorgeous!! Kudos to Nancy! The shape was perfect, they weren't thick and bulky and all around I was just obsessed with them! They started to get in the way of my texting though and I'm not used to super long nails so I decided to remove them. I had them removed with another lady there and she was so sweet, very polite and attentive. However the basic manicure didn't last but a couple hours. I got out of Polish around 1120 AM and it's almost 3 PM and I'll post a picture. She shaped them and filed them but the tip of the nails were rough! Don't know how she missed the jagged edges. Now my polish is flaking off and looks bad and I'm headed out on vacation. I'm thinking maybe I should have paid more and gotten gel cuz these just aren't it! read more

Got my nails done for the first time during COVID. Polish Parker and Roe was very clean, required all employees and customers to wear a mask, and had plastic shields between you and the employee. The customers were spaced out and the store was limiting capacity to ensure social distancing. Felt very safe and clean! I was able to easily make a Nail Dip Appointment online and see their availability ahead of time. My nails look amazing and they were very general with my sensitive cuticles. I absolutely love Polish. I have been frequenting this salon every three weeks for at least 1.5 years. Tammy is my absolute favorite - she is so sweet and always ensures quality service for my pedicure. For nails, Jenny and Vee are fantastic! I recommend making an appointment to ensure prompt service. You can do that by dropping in or calling. The salon does a great job of staffing appropriately for peak times, but they also stay busy, so you may have a long wait if you arrive as a walk in! Great atmosphere with comfy seats. Polish feels more like a living room space vs. a cold salon full of white walls and infinite chairs. Much more intimate! read more

The quality of this place has really gone down in the last couple of months. Sure there's no wait, the chairs are comfortable, and the shop's design is pretty, but that's about it. The last 3 times, the attendant has done careless and sloppy work. The first time I thought it was just old polish or something. But by the third time I've learned my lesson to stop coming here. The front desk offered a do over this time for my feedback, but I just spent the last two hours here for the slowest pedi and gel mani of my life. I'm tired and just want to get home. I never had a manicure or pedicure before.. had no idea what I was missing! I needed to get my nails done for my wedding and came here based on a recommendation from a coworker. The salon is very impressive- lots of colors to choose from and very clean with nice aesthetics. The entire staff was very friendly and they serve wine and trail mix. Very nice unique nail spa. I was in the area and decided to try them out and pretty glad I did. This may sound strange to some but I'm not a big fan of the typical massage chairs at nail salons and guess what this one doesn't have them . They have a domed shaped chair, see pic. The chair is set up so you kind of have some privacy. This spa also have complimentary trail mix which I've never seen at a nail salon, so another plus. I didn't get any because I had just ate. I like the way the front desk person gives you the nail color pallets then she goes and gets the color and gives it to the nail tech. Once the nail tech is finished they put the colors in a basket and the front desk person puts them away....organization is key. I only have two minor complaints. 1. Although I love the chair concept it was kind to get in it because there are no side handles that lift and the foot bowl is directly in front of it. Not that big of an issue though. 2. I got my pointing finger a different color. I wanted white with sparkle but they only had clear with sparkle which meant they would have to do white then the sparkle. The front desk lady said it would cost me extra because I had more than two colors. While the nail tech was doing my nails he showed me the sparkle polish and I said I wanted white so he went and got the desk lady and she said they don't have white with sparkle I said that's what I chose then she said the one you chose is clear it appears white because of the white nail pallet at that point I had to slap my forehead because I didn't realize that. The nail teach said they didn't charge for extra colors so we agreed on the white then clear sparkle. They should probably come to a mutual agreement on if there will be a charge or not. Seriously, my review for PP&R is long overdue. Have been going to see them for over a year and walk out perfectly pleased, every. time. Admittedly, sometimes I'll pop into other salons if I'm on another side of town, can't make it to PPR, a friend suggests somewhere else etc etc but every time, I regret cheating on PPR. The owner is super hands on and engaged with customers --- she wants you to walk out happy with whatever service you paid for. The technicians are all very nice and always accommodate my odd requests or random idea for a design. ALL their services are awesome but they have THE BEST express mani in town (I have tried soooo many places in the loop). I get Zoya or OPI polish and my nails stay pretty for over a week. First time coming to Ploah as my coworker loves this place, her nail tech wasn't available, but I ended up getting an appointment with Nina, I am usually not a picky person when it comes to my nails and this time I went just more natural and changed the shape. Nina was very precise with what I wanted and will more than likely come again for my nails. Didn't get a pedicure since chairs don't look comfortable. They do have this nut snack dispenser which I thought was a smart idea to munch on. First and last time here. Let me start by saying I wasn't going to write a review. I even considered coming back here until I got up this morning (less than 12 hours since I had left the salon, with cracked shellac). Also knew of friends who went and had a great experience. I made an appointment online at 5:30pm, for 2 gel manicure. We got there and they told me that in their system it only showed for 1, I pulled up the email to show them the reservation for 2. She proceeded to let us know it'd be a 20min wait to see both of us together. Cool, we waited. 6 o'clock rolled around and they grabbed us to sit us down. We sat there till about 6:20pm soaking our hands in water. They had to call a nail tech in to come do our nails!! When she arrives they start todo mine while my gf I'm with is waiting for her nail tech. (Which ended up being mine). 1.5 hour later at 7pm they start my friends nails. Unreal. Once my nails were done another lady comes over to do my "massage"/ lotion my hands. She puts gloves with lotion on both hands and hot towels, walks off nbd. Literally forgets about me so I'm sitting here with all this stuff on my hands for more then 7min. I realize she's not coming back b/c she starts working on someone else's nails. So I take it upon myself to take off the gloves and towels..nice. At this point I am livid, the lady at front desk proceeds to come over where we are sitting to ask how everything was...I respond with "fine". Let her know why, she's aware of everything bc she apologized and saw us the whole time. I will say our nail tech was nice enough but my nails were rushed there are bubbles and just not clean. Also I've done shellac multiples times and never had it sting when I put my nails in the machine. This was the first time it's ever happened, which I found super odd. They gave us a $10 voucher for next time...which okay, why couldn't you just give us $10 off right then and there. I guess so that way we are more inclined to comeback. But why would anyone want to comeback after this experience? I hope this experience never happens to anyone. If anyone is looking for a good nail salon with great customer service, head to Cha Nails.
