I believe it's family run and it's always good to support local businesses. They do hair and nails, so it's a good place to know! They're pretty friendly and accommodating. I did gel nails and the lady who did my nails did a good job. I'd chosen my color from their paint samples but they couldn't find the exact color so she gave me a close one she could find. The color I wanted was more violet-ish maroon and what I have now is more red. Nail shape is consistent and the paint lines are generally clean. She missed a couple sides which bothers me a little. She did kind of file my nails a little too short too, when we agreed that we'd keep the length. It took about 40 mins for the whole process. read more

i am blown away by this place. everything about them has exceeded my expectation. found this place on yelp and it is really close to UTD so why not give it a try. called ahead to make sure they are not busy and they weren't! perfect. the place isn't that big but is clean and felt very homey. walked in and greeted immediately and after a long process of deciding what i want i finally picked out a design. and they fulfilled every little thing i ask for. from glow in the dark nail polish to making the fake nails thin to adding the gemstone(see picture!). they done it so professionally and took their time to perfect them. the color is beautiful especially with dipping powder. Today was my first time here. Came here on a Thursday with no prior appointments and the wait was only 10ish minutes, not bad. There were a lot of colors with a variety of finishes (gel, polish, nexgen, etc) to choose from. I decided to try nexgen on my natural nails today and it turned out pretty nice! Really liking this form of manicure w/o the odor and the painfully long drying times so I'll definitely be back for more! Channy did my nails and there were some minor scrapes on two of my cuticles from the rotating buffer... Nothing major though. I'll be back to check out some other nexgen colors in a few weeks! read more

I have so many good things to say about this business. Note that it is a hole in the wall joint, so if you want a total spa, luxurious experience, this is not for you. If you want great quality at a good price, come here. 1. Reasonably priced. I'm in love with shellac now, so here's the breakdown. Mon-Thurs- they have specials: a) $30 spa mani-pedi (regular, no shellac) b) $20 spa pedi, and add $15 for shellac c) $45 spa mani-pedi with shellac for both. (WHOAAA!) Fri- Sat: -$24 spa pedi, and add $15 for shellac 2. Service: greeted as soon as I walked in, and was offered complimentary water, soda or wine. WHOA!! :) They carry so many shellac colors so I was in heaven. 3. Angela- the shellac expert - where do I start? she is so pleasant, so sweet, so skilled. she gives the most amazing foot scrubs and massages EVER. I almost fell asleep, I was so relaxed. Pays close attention to your toes, and takes her time to make sure it looks good. Since Angela is the only one who does shellac there, you might want to call and book an appt with her. I was a little hesitant when I first walked in because there were absolutely no customers in there at all. My friend and I wanted to get our nails done together for a little bonding time. Originally we went to Q Nails down the street. Based on yelp reviews, we thought it would be a good option because they were quoted as being very friendly. Instead they were rude and really busy, stating that they wouldn't be able to help us for another 45 minutes. So we decided to come here instead. Boy am I glad! This was my first time ever getting shellac nails and I was already nervous about the process. Soaking fingers in a bowl of acetone is not my idea of a fun time. Anyway, Angela was my technician and she was really helpful. Throughout the entire process she asked me if things looked okay or if I wanted my French tips to be thinner or thicker. I personally appreciated this because I usually feel bad when I keep asking the technician to change things or straighten certain nails. By asking me what I thought of it, I was feeling more and more comfortable throughout the entire process. She also gave me suggestions on how thick to make the French tip because the gel manicure lasts longer and my nails will grow. I thought that was thoughtful that she wanted my nails to look the best they could. It didn't take very long and it's not much different from normal manicures. My nails look great and I'm extremely pleased! It was only $35 for a shellac nail manicure with French tips ($30 for gel plus $5 for tips). They also have a lot of great specials to offer you as well as a frequent buyer card. I will definitely be back and will be looking forward to my free 10th manicure. This is a little hole in the wall and is not extremely enticing from the outside, but I will be back and I hope that by then not TOO many people find out about this little gem. :) Another plus is they have a lot of TVs on so you're always entertained. Angela was great too because she didn't bombard me with a bunch of imposing questions but she let me enjoy my manicure and socialize with my friend. I came here for the first time almost 2 weeks ago to get some French tips. Normally, I try to grow out my nails and get a gel/shellac set. This time, my nails were too short so I went with acrylic. And I definitely had to get French tips since I was about to be in a wedding as a bridesmaid and wanted my hands to look classy. I haven't gotten acrylic nails in a decade, and now I remember why they're so terrible! I hate the thickness of it and how it feels on my hands. Taking it off will also be a pain. HOWEVER, I have to say that the staff here are great. The acrylic didn't dry very well before I left (bubbles developed) and they immediately got to work to fix it even though they were past close. They didn't try to rush it either, so I would say that customer service is superb. Though the whole experience took 2 hours (I also got a pedicure), I would go back again because of how I was treated. Next time I'm not getting acrylic... still hate it! K T Nails Salon is going to be my new go to spot! They are so friendly and they do a wonderful job! My sister and I went to get our nails done on Tuesday for my birthday, being a girly girl I had to get my nails done for my birthday. We both decided to get gel nails because gel nails is life changing and they were having a promotion! Gel manicure & pedicure for ONLY $55! That's a bargain! I decided I wanted to have something bold for my birthday and I got diamonds on my left ring finger and my right index finger! They did a terrific job and I am in love with my nails! K T Nails Salon probably has the largest selection of gel nails! They usually close at 7:30, but the kind owner and nail technicians stayed an extra 40 minutes to finish our nails! They were so friendly and did not rush whatsoever! The owner even gave me a rose massage lotion as an early birthday gift! Overall, my sister and I had a wonderful with K T Nails Salon! The reason for my poor review was because the girl who did the manicures left me very unsatisfied. She was very sloppy, only filed one hand and my polish was poorly applied. When I asked her to fix one nail she just polished over the mistake leaving one nail darker than the rest. On the other hand she did a good job on my daughter's nails. This place has a huge sign saying it is under new management - 30% off. I would have paid full price how pampered I was. I was only in Richardson on a business trip with a few hours to kill and in desperate need for new toe polish. I searched Yelp for a nail salon near my hotel and came across KT Nails. I arrived at 6:45pm and realized that they closed in 45 minutes. Most quick, down and dirty nail salons can bang out a pedicure in 30 minutes so I was pleased and not surprised that they took me in and said "pick a color". At that point, I decided their prices were so reasonable and the menu I was presented was so delectable for manicure services that I couldn't resist both. "Alan" was a great nail technician. While I watched Man versus Food on the tele, he gently clipped, scrubbed, dipped in parafin, and massaged my feet to the point I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to stand up they were so relaxed. These folks stayed open late and finished my manicure at the same time as my pedicure. I was quite spoiled getting my arms lotioned, wrapped in hot towels and massaged while my toes were being painted. I don't know about the old management, but the new folks are great giving you an hour of relaxing self indulgence at a very reasonable price. if you are in the area, make it your business to get a mani/pedi at KT Nails. read more

I just wanted to say how AMAZING this place is. I walked in and they automatically knew who I was because I scheduled an appointment and the moment I walked in they were ready for me! They all speak English- which is a plus so it's not a barrier between us all. This nail shop was also very clean and doesn't really smell like a typical overbearing shop. I decided at the last minute to get a manicure and a pedicure. I found this by googling and I'm sure glad I did. The lady running the place, Kim, is so sweet and wants only to make her customers happy. I was there for about two hours and realized she has a lot of regular customers, which says something to me about her services. Now, I'm a girl on a budget but I like to get quality for my money - who doesn't?- so when I found out that I could get both for $32 I was pretty confident that I was going to be happy. After arriving to the salon I was greeted by Kim and was immediately accepted into the fold of the other customers. The chair was super comfy and although it didn't have a massage function, I was treated as if in a spa. The decor isn't fancy, but everything was VERY CLEAN which is very important. All the tools came sterilized and wrapped in sealed packaging. They don't use razors but a tiny grater (while wearing gloves) removed all of the dead skin from my feet. It was amazing. They use heated lotion and massage your legs and feet for at least 10 minutes if not longer before even painting your toes. I think the thing that sealed the deal was this - for your manicure you get a free paraffin dip on your hands, and for each pedicure, you get a free paraffin dip on your feet - plus a short chair shoulder massage! I couldn't have been happier and more pampered for under $40 anywhere else. I know where I'm going anytime I need a little TLC. read more

Based on the previous reviews, I had decent expectations about KT Nails. I was a walk-in on a Wed evening at 6pm. The salon is next to a Subway and the aroma of fresh baked cookies hits you when you walk in the door. And that's where the cozy image stops. The one tech/ owner sits on the couch on the phone and her shirt is stained and her shorts appear to not be clean. I only state this as this would describe her state of hygiene and cleanliness in her work and the salon. I asked for a manicure (new set) and a pedicure. She started my manicure commenting on how the previous salon's work was so bad and then tried to carry out the same shoddy fill when I specifically asked for an entire new set. Realizing that she would have to spend more time than she desired on my hands, she stopped and had me sit for my pedicure first. The pedicure was a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Good hot stone massage but she cleaned the foot scraping tool in my clean water where my feet still were. I have never seen that in all my pedicures and I felt disgusted by the gesture. She completed my manicure, rushing through it and telling me the entire time how awesome her work was in all of Dallas. She took her business card and literally put it in my purse. Oh, and during my pedicure she asked if I was Mexican. I'm not but I'm not sure why this question was asked? Bottom line, keep an open mind, but don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Came in to get powder "dip" nails & let me start off by saying that they have the largest selection of powders from any nail salon I've been to! I came in without an appointment and didn't have to wait at all, but I really just got lucky. The walkins after me had to wait an hour or come back another day. It's pretty small. But it's busy so that's always a good sign! The service was thorough and pleasant and they would've gotten 5 stars from me except for the fact she initially told me a price and once finished she said it would be more because of length and cut but she could've said this at the beginning or when she asked me the length. I love this place! The girls are great at what they do. They make you feel right at home while also cutting you a great deal. The massage chairs are comfy, the prices are perfect, and the TV is on or off at your request. The nail color options are apt - not too few or too many to choose from. Lots of magazines makes for a good time while drying. The place doesn't seat many, which makes it feel quaint. Kim does the best pedicure, also small floral designs, if you like that sort of thing. Tammy gives the best massages during her manicures so my arms feel like noodles when it's time to go (that's a good thing). The manager does a 1-hour massage that's to die for - only $50! She also does bikini and eyebrow waxing in her relaxing back office. It's the best place in town for a manicure & pedicure if you ask me, and it's only $35 bucks for the combo! Just relocated from CA and I had gone to another place closer to my house and it was awful. So I got on yelp and found this amazing little shop. I dropped by on a Sunday just to see if they were open and they were. Everyone was nice and friendly. Mary asked me what I would like and I showed her the horrible nails I had and asked for a full new set. She was gentle when taking off my old nails and she did an amazing job with the pink and white acrylic. The price was great and the service was even better. Everything was clean and it smelled really good not like the over powering chemical smell you get at a lot of other places. I am in from out of town & called ahead to make sure they did acrylic fills. I drove 20 mins to get there (& chose this location due to the amazing reviews) but I was super disappointed bc when I walked in an 5 mins ago, they said they didn't have time to fit me in, & that they were full for the rest of the day. Fills honestly don't even take half an hr & there were 3 employees & only 2 customers already there. They should have mentioned that on the phone when I called, or at least tried to fit me in. I have been a loyal customer of KT Nails for almost a year now. That all changed ysterday and I will not be returning. They have a 'frequent buyer' card - something you don't see much in the Nail Salon world. I had filled up my card - 10 visits - and almost all of them I had received pink & white solar nail set or fill. The last square of the card said 'mani pedi' and when I got the card she told me when I filled it all up, I would get a free service. I 'assumed' it would be comparable to what I had been receiving. I expected either an $18 off my services - fill and pedicure or that my pedicure would be free! Instead they said it was a free eyebrow was - cost $10. Now if that is what the card said, then fine. But, it didn't and as I was discussing this with this them, they tore my card up! False advertisement and they could CARE LESS! So they have lost my fills/pedicure business! And I'll tell as many people as I can! You just can't treat your customers like this...it's misleading! read more

I wasn't looking for a posh pretentious nail salon, I wasn't even looking to be pampered. I just wanted to get a quick, quality manicure with a couple of my girlfriends. We received neither. They were rude to me and my friends and tried to make us feel cheap for not wanting to get the "gel manicure" they kept insisting on. When I finally got my nails done, the lady was rude and rushed the entire time. At one point, she did not even paint half of one of my nails and when I pointed it out to her, she said that she's the one that knows how to do nails, not me. She also only removed my cuticles on one hand. When she finished, my nails looked uneven and the polish was lumpy. I got this manicure three days ago and it has already began to chip quite badly. I went here to get a full set for my nails and the reason that i had decided to come back here was because it was under new management, i used to love this place and now it is just gone all to hell when the customer is not right. supposed to better but, i was very unsatisfied with the way that my nails turned out the manager here refused to redo my nails and i simply asked for my money back and was refused that right also. my nails were previously prior to coming in. i had asked him to soak the nails off and he proceeded to yank them off with the clippers and his own nails. i am very unhappy and until the manager can refund my money or redo them then i will not be returning to this place and its my recommendation that you choose another salon if you want them done right...... read more

The lady dumped out my dead skin from foot into the tub and also cleaned the stone in the dirty water. My toes have been VERY sore and it has been almost six days since I had the pedicure. I am not happy with my manicure at all. I decided to visit this place because of the reviews from yelp and decided to give them a go. I went in this past weekend for a set of natural looking gel nails and was coerced into getting what I think was acrylic with some white tips. I was told the nails I wanted would not look good with my "long fingers". My manicure is horrible. First, the person cut my natural nails off, applied so much glue it was running off my nail and the acrylic is so thick, it looks very unnatural. I even have thick acrylic UNDER my nails!! The technician was so worried with the other conversations and busy talking to them, she paid no attention to what she was doing for me. At that point, I was done and ready for her to finish so I could go. I paid $35 for something I definitely didn't want. Even today I see bubbles in my nails, they're chipping already (two days after getting them done!!) and they just don't feel natural. I think I"m going to soak these off and find another place to get my nails re-done. read more
