When I made my dogs appointment for grooming I called the dedham location. Once booked, they never…read moreinformed me that the location I called doesn't do grooming and that I'd have to go to their other location in Jamaica plain. I drove 30 minutes to get to the Durham location just for them to tell me that I have to drive 30 minutes in the opposite direction. When I arrived at the correct location, the lady who I spoke to about how I wanted my dogs haircut to look seemed a bit ignorant like she knew nothing about dog haircuts. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my dog to look. They also said that they don't brush dogs teeth which is odd. Never been to a dog salon that doesn't brush the dogs teeth. We were originally told it would take 2 hours and it took almost 3 for my dog to be done. Upon picking up my dog, the lady behind the front desk told my sister and I that the groomer is new and only has under a YEAR of experience. Why wouldn't they tell me that prior to getting my dog groomed? I don't want a rookie to give my dog a botched haircut(which she did) but by this point it was too late. Also, when entering the store, it smells horrible like mildew. My dog came out, his hair choppy and the final result didn't look anything like the photo that I showed the lady( she took a picture of what I showed her so there shouldn't have been any confusion) The sweater I had him wearing was covered in fur, as if they cut his hair with the sweater on. I had to request my leash and collar back from them. Anyways, the people behind the front desk were sticking their faces in front of my dogs face so that he could lick them, letting them kiss their mouth which is honestly gross and not something I want to see. Overall, unhappy with how my dog turned out. Will not be returning.

My dog Tessa has been part of the Tails family for 6 wonderful years :) She is always well taken…read morecare of, even when she has special dietary needs and vet requirements. Tessa has friends at Tails in Boston and always comes home exhausted after playing with them all day. Their overnight staff are so kind and make sure she is comfortable, even though she is not used to sharing space with other animals at night time. We are really excited that Tails is expanding to Dedham - we just tried it out today and will be returning soon! Thank you to all of the staff, Tessa is a really lucky dog :)

I visited the vet at Petco yesterday with my fur baby and was very nervous…read more I've had such bad experiences with vets in general where they guilt trip you into services and you leave paying half hour savings account. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised at the service I received and how inexpensive it was. My dog received excellent care AND it didn't break the bank! I would highly recommend going to Petco! The Vital care plan they have is WELL WORTH IT!! Also the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We have found our new vet!! Thank you Petco!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Petco Vet in Needham…read more I booked an appointment specifically for a ProHeart 12 injection -- nothing else. When I arrived, I clearly stated that I was there for the heartworm injection (ProHeart 12). The nurse asked when my dog had her last injection, took her vitals, and later came back saying that all tests were negative and that we were waiting for the veterinarian. When the vet came in, I again explained that we were there for the ProHeart 12 injection. I was then told that they do not provide the injection. I was honestly shocked and frustrated because the entire reason for my appointment was something that apparently was not offered. If I had known beforehand that they did not carry or administer ProHeart 12, I would never have booked the appointment or agreed to additional testing. I was still charged $70 for the SNAP test, a test I would not have done there under these circumstances. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and the way my concerns were handled. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or trying to help, the veterinarian was dismissive and essentially told me "good luck" finding a vet in New England who carries ProHeart 12. A simple clarification when booking the appointment could have saved me time, money, and a lot of frustration. This was a very disappointing experience.
