This Pollard's Chicken is located at the corner of Great Neck Rd. and Virginia Beach Blvd. It is easiest to get to it from heading west on Virginia Beach Blvd. or south on Great Neck Rd. I have passed this place several times over the years but had never made it in here until then. My first visit here was around midday on December 31, 2021. There was parking available when I came in. However, there was quite a bit of traffic as there is a Starbucks pretty much next to this place and they were extremely busy that day. It can make it difficult at times when it is so busy there at the Starbucks. After taking an outside view of the place, I went inside. It wasn't too busy inside, and since I had looked at the menu online before coming in, I had an idea of what I was looking for. I went up to the counter and they were ready for me to order. I ended up going with the fried chicken with two breasts and two legs. For the sides, I chose the macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. The cost was similar to other fried chicken joints in the area. A few minutes after ordering and paying, one of the workers let me know that it would be about 15 minutes as they needed to cook some more chicken. Many of the other people waiting were delivery drivers for food delivery apps. Even though I didn't order a drink, they offered a drink cup to me for the wait. It's these little things like that that make things a bit better. After about ten minutes or so, my order was complete, and I was able to pick it up and head home to eat it. After getting home, I opened the box and it looked really good. It had everything I ordered in there. Even though it took a little while to get home, everything was still hot. All of the chicken there was really good, and it was tender and juicy too. The mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese for sides were really good too. The puffs were good as well. Overall, I had a really good experience for my first visit to Pollard's Chicken. I am totally adding them to my list of places I will come back to. Next time, I think I am going to try the roasted chicken. If you're looking for a good, local chicken place, this place definitely fits the bill, and you should definitely cluck (check) them out.

Good food, not the fastest staff, but it's good, especially for take out. Plenty of indoor seating and they keep the place clean.

We catered Pollard's Chicken for my daughter's graduation party and it was a major hit. I've had Pollard's a few years ago and remembered it tasting great so I couldn't think of a better place to order chicken from. I called in the order about a week before the party for 80 pieces of chicken and they told me that the chicken would be ready on the day of the party by 2pm. Once the day came for pickup, I called to see if we could pick up the chicken earlier but since it was a graduation weekend and Father's Day weekend, they were very strict about the pick up time but apologized that they couldn't accommodate us, which I understood. We had family in town from different places and they ranted and raved over how great the chicken was. We made a few sides to go with the chicken but it was a definitely a major hit and I'm so glad we catered from Pollard's.

Casual diner serving southern style soul food. It has reigned supreme as one of the favorite spots for soul food in VA beach for years. I wish they added Chitlins, ham hocks, meat loaf, and fried whiting on the menu. But there focus is fried chicken, which they do very well. We enjoyed the okra and corn pudding. Both cooked perfectly. The puffs taste like sugarless donuts. I'm a fan. Save room for dessert! The bread pudding is perfect with coffee. Enjoy.

After driving past this place for 4 years I finally decided to give it a try and... wow I have been missing OUT. this place is reasonably priced for a decent amount of food. We ordered the 2pc. snack and the tender snack specials that come with a vegetable, drink and Pollard's special "puff". This chicken... was so juicy and delicious I almost wished that I ordered the 20pc family meal for myself. Also, I'm not sure what the "puff" is, but it is delicious. Most chicken places give out biscuits but this is such a good alternative. As we ate inside, a ton of people came to pick up their ore-orders and catering items, I don't have any events coming up but I might just cater my next Netflix night! I'll definitely be making the drive back up to Hilltop soon for more.

Pretty darn good chicken. They always seem to have a crowd. I go when I have entertainment book coupons. Better than KFC.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Definitely coming back.

We came here for Valentine's Day with a reservation for three (2 adults and a child). We were…read moregreeted warmly and seated right away, which was impressive given how busy it was. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

I've picked up orders for coworkers, friends, and assorted non-believers, all in my ongoing mission to share my guilty pleasure with anyone willing to listen. Most recently, M Chicken catered my 3-year-old's birthday party because apparently my child has already developed excellent taste. His words? "Spicy chicken!" Now, the soy garlic chicken isn't really spicy-spicy, but it does have a little sneaky building heat from the red pepper. It's not going to set your soul on fire, but you may find yourself taking a couple extra sips of water like, "Okayyy, 안녕하세요 heat, I see you." The chicken itself? Crispy, juicy, flavorful, and dangerously easy to keep eating. The snow onion and soy garlic are my absolute go-to flavors. The snow onion sauce is creamy, savory, slightly sweet, and just makes the whole thing feel extra. 너무 맛있어요 -- so delicious! And please do not sleep on the coleslaw. It is probably my favorite side. Slightly pickled, crunchy, tangy, flavorful...basically the perfect cool little sidekick to all that fried chicken goodness. The rice is always on point too. Fluffy little clouds of rice perfection. No sad, sticky, forgotten rice over here. At the birthday party, we had 43 people, and not ONE person had anything bad to say about the chicken. Plenty went back for seconds, which is always the real review. People can lie with words, but they do not lie with a second plate. And somehow, even the fish is divine here. I keep telling myself I'm going to branch out and try more of the menu, but every time I walk in, the chicken starts whispering, "가지 마...come back to me." And apparently I have no self-control. 맛있어요, M Chicken. You win again. If you love crispy chicken, good sauces, and food that makes you immediately start planning your next visit, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Inside is clean, and cute. Service is fast. We ate so fast and so much I got no pics of the food!
