I work right down the street from Eddys Express. I've been going there for over 20 years. The employees that work there are like family to my wife and me. I eat lunch there sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Sometimes I eat there and my wife orders dinner from there the same night. Im okay with that I'll find some different to mix it up. I recommend the Singapore pancit. I also like the Bourbon chicken, General tsao chicken, love the hot and sour soup, beef broccoli with garlic sauce. I could go on and on about the food. I ordered the General towel chicken it was the worst chicken I had in my life, hard ass chicken and a sweet sauce. I had the fried rice with scrambled eggs. They didn't boil the scrambled eggs up. They made it like over eggs and just chopped it up in it. I just threw the food away. read more

This was an excellent experience! The food is very good pricing for the freshness and portions you receive. My family was really happy and it was great to have some variety in the menu. When I picked up I had just been told to use crutches so I couldn't carry anything out to my vehicle. They really went above and beyond to bring my order to my car due to my disability. They don't have runners but really helped me from making a mess and trying to manage one container at a time in a reusable shopping bag!!! Amazing customer service. read more

We decided to try out a new Chinese spot since our regular place was closed. This restaurant did not disappoint! We just had the basics, chicken lo mein, pork egg rolls, fried rice and we decided to try teriyaki chicken. All of the food was delicious, my toddler enjoyed it as well! They offer delivery for free if you are close enough. What I liked is that you don't have to go through an app like Grubhub or DoorDash and pay extra fees just to get your food delivered. Food was great and our food was delivered by a friendly guy within 20 minutes! Only thing missing was the fortune cookies so I assume they don't give them here. They have a huge menu that doesn't only include Chinese food but they also make pizza, subs and other items for the whole family to enjoy. I just recently moved to the area from New York. To my surprise there aren't many places out here that deliver. Thank god Eddy's does deliveries. So far everything I've order has been good. I am truly not knocking you wonderful fellow yelpers out there, but wondering how there are so many 4-5 star reviews out there on this place?! The fact it showcases "pizza, subs, wings, and Chinese" should alert most that this is definitely a catch all with a toss up of which item of food may or may not be successful. We tried this place per the kids request, and happening to be near this place on the way to somewhere else. I am adventurous (as you can tell) and the write ups didn't sound too bad...and well that's kind of how it went, "not too bad" One child went with pizza, and the other with Chinese. It's definitely more of a order and pickup sort of place. We ate in, and the longer I was there, the more I wondered why I came here in the first place because it seemed that sketch establishment whise. Not even a bathroom?! I won't be coming back, but the people seemed nice enough...not friendly or accommodating...but not super rude either. I have been eating here off and on since moving to Portsmouth in 2008 and I felt it was time to give these guys a review. I have never once had a bad experience with Eddie's. They are quick and pretty inexpensive. I have a couple "go to" meals that I usually order, so I cannot speak for their entire menu. But, they have a little of everything! Pizza, burgers & fries, wings, subs, and traditional Chinese take-out. You are sure to find something for even the pickiest of eaters in your house. When I have guests staying with me, I bring them to Eddie's. Everyone agrees that it is some of the best they have ever eaten. I have never used them for delivery, so I am not sure how far out they will deliver. My only "complaint" with Eddie's is that I rarely ever get a fortune cookie. Maybe you have to ask, or actually purchase them. This is such a minor flaw and definitely doesn't take away from the fact that this is a great little restaurant. If ever you're in P-Town and craving something different than the typical fast-food fare, I recommend Eddie's Express. You're sure to find something to satisfy your hunger! read more

After reading the reviews I decided to give this place a try. BIG MISTAKE! I could have made better shrimp fried rice at home with a little sesame oil. It was absolutely tasteless. No veggies. I used 4 packs of soy sauce and still no taste. I'm talking about yellow rice and shrimp. I had to ask and pay for the egg. He asked if I wanted onion I said yes. Not sure if that was a charge too. I also ordered spring rolls....greasy! I wasted $12, I could have had a V8. I am not impressed or pleased with this place. I will not return. read more

This place is great. The General Tso's and pork fried rice are my go-to meal. So many Chinese places have dry, bland rice. Eddy's does rice really well. It's flavorful, and delicious. The General Tso's sauce is tangy, and while I wish it were spicier, it's still great! Eddy's is a really solid take out choice. I won't lie, this place looks real suspect. I've driven past it numerous times and always thought the worst. Being a school teacher, I'm unable to leave for my lunch break so I have to order delivery. Well Eddys is like 1 out of 4 places that'll deliver to my school. I read a few reviews and decided to give it a try, what's the worst that could happen? Only food poisoning lol well I ordered a turkey burger sub with fries and my assistants ordered the L1 lunch special (sorry forgot the name of the dish). To my surprise, the food was decent and I didn't get food poisoning! Now I won't say the turkey burger sub was the best sub I've ever had but it was satisfying from a suspect place. I called at 9:16 even though they closed at 9:30 and to my surprise they answered. My food was very fresh. I got 4 chicken wings with fried rice, lo mein (which was kind of bland) and you have to say what kind or you'll just get noodles like i did lol thinking i was getting vegetable lo mein and i also got 2 beef lumpia which were to die for. Minus the plain bland lo mein everything was very good and fresh and the little boy taking payments was very sweet. 9/10 It was also so good i didn't get a pic!! read more

This is our favorite neighborhood place to eat for take out or delivery. They have a wide variety of choices so everyone here can always find something they like. From Chinese to American to pizza. we have never been disappointed. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get also. Our Chinese favorites are house special egg foo yung and pancit. The general tso's chicken is also very good and they cook to order. We have tried the subs, burgers, pork chop sandwiches and pizza and we have always been pleased. We eat there at least weekly and sometimes more then once a week. They are always friendly and know who we are when we come in or call in a delivery order. Strictly a family business that has been there for quite a few years. I am very particular about the kind of Chinese food I eat and have gone a couple of years without finding a good one in our area. In short, I'm a career chef, don't know the finer points of Chinese-American food but I know pizza. This place is the best bang for the buck out of any place providing delivery in my zip. Quality cheese and generously topped every time and $4 less that any of the nationals. The Chinese food has been pretty good too from what I've ordered. A little soulfinger fusion thrown in but no better or worse than any other delivery joints nearby. The subs and sandwiches are... meh, but fairly priced. Let me just say WOW! I tried to order from this place and they hung up on me twice. They got frustrated with me because I couldnt understand them. Who says no to money cheap food does not excuse ignorance or being rude. Since I couldnt understand them talking so fast and ignorant they hung up on me and refused to take my order. News flash ignorant business no one is going to beg you to take there money your not the only spot in Portsmouth. They never have to worry about getting a dime from me.
