I requested to talk to the owner and informed him of the issue. instead of finding out what time my order came in and expedite my food and clearly had many excused. I am in support of having a veteran own business. because it is veterans' own, as a veteran I would give them another opportunity. Nevertheless, customer services need to be worked on. The services were not good and does not deserve more than one star at this time.

The Depression forced my grandmother, Valeria, to mind the store while Leonardo continued to deliver and sell meat. In 1932 my grandfather built the house at 1608 117th Street (and it still stands behind the store). My father David was born in the house in 1932. Leonardo and Valeria had a total of 6 children that all took turns working at Tampico. My father took over the family business in the mid sixties. He and my mother had eleven kids and all took turns, sometimes voluntarily and other times not so voluntarily, assisting our parents in running 'The Store'. David retired in the early 1990s and ownership has since changed. The store has survived the Depression, Watts Riots, LA Riots and the building of the 105 Freeway only 100 yards away but it looks like it will survive another 100 years.

However, some prices felt a bit higher than expected compared to other nearby discount stores. Convenience and Parking It's convenient if you're already in the area, but there's no dedicated parking, only street parking, which is usually full. This seems more like a walk in neighborhood spot. Friendly Service The owner was friendly and greeted us right away. The store had a welcoming feel, even though we were the only ones inside at the time. Overall Thoughts I'd come back to check for unique items, but I'd probably still choose other nearby discount stores first for better pricing and selection.

They remade my food fast, and it still came out delicious. Considering how packed and busy this place gets, occasional mistakes are understandable. The only downside is definitely parking. There is a lot, but it fills up FAST, and street parking can be just as limited. Luckily, we got super lucky and found street parking right as someone was leaving, so we definitely scored there. We used to buy our meat from this carnicería all the time and were loyal customers. Unfortunately, over the past several months, the quality has gone downhill. The meat has become extremely thick, tough, and rubbery. Even after cooking it properly, it's so difficult to chew that we've ended up throwing much of it away. That's especially frustrating considering how expensive meat has become. I've even asked the employees several times to please give me thinner cuts. They always assure me they have, but when I get home and cook it, the meat is still thick and tough. We finally decided to start buying our meat from Carnicería Guadalajara instead, and the difference has been huge. Their meat is tender, easy to chew, and feels like it's actually worth the money. I truly hope this carnicería improves its quality because it used to be one of our favorite places to shop. Right now, though, I can't recommend it based on our recent experiences.
