How I received the chicken sandwich I ordered. Fresh out of the wrapper like this.

Have previously really enjoyed food from here. Will never order again. Placed a pickup order, food wasn't ready when we got there. Staff couldn't find the order right away and had to show them on my phone to get it made. Cashier mumbled the whole time, snapping at us and rolling their eyes like it was a huge inconvenience, just generally rude. Waited another 40 minutes for our food. Staff didn't realize my friend spoke Spanish. Oops. They repeatedly referred to us using homophobic slurs. After all that, once we got our food we were in a hurry and booked it home. A large portion (5 piece chicken and dinner rolls) of our order was entirely missing. The french fries were cold and undercooked. And the kicker, one of our sandwiches was made with moldy bread that had been torn up. We contacted corporate, and was told to expect a further response and resolution. It never came. They provided poor service, used slurs, left food out, and served dangerous food. Never again.

**3.75 - 4.0 stars** I've been drooling over the thought of trying out the Peruvian chicken at Pollo Campero - and I finally got around to trying it out earlier this week for dinner. Ordered a 1/4 chicken and Yucca fries, plus a bottle of water. The chicken was moist, savory, and absolutely delicious! Mouth watering good! The Yucca fries were tasty, hot, and crisp - BUT - they were a tad on the greasy side. If they eliminate the greasiness on the fries - I'd up the rating.

Horrible experience! Eight months ago I posted a great review about what it means to eat Pollo Campero. This time I have to post this review to let people know how horrible was my experience at this location last Saturday afternoon. My wife and I went into the store and had to wait for the three teenagers working at the front to stop horse-playing and to make a decision on who will take our order. My wife asked for a 12 piece meal and she was never offer any alternatives or options. She did say that she wanted everything fresh and hot. As we waited for the food, i went to the front and asked the cashier for sauces. She told me that the only sauce available is ketchup and it was on the table. I have had in the past other sauces at other restaurants but I wasn't in the mood to argue (see picture). A few minutes later the food arrived. The chicken wasn't hot so my wife told the girl that had just served it. She called the manager (Jose) a man with 60's glasses and unhappy personality. To our surprise the manager said without talking to her; "you have been BOTHERING us from the moment you came in". He didn't try for a moment to make it better and only wanted to returned us the money. He didn't apologize once or attempted to change the chicken. We drove 16 miles to the store in Sudley Rd to find among other things that: 1. The 12 piece meal was $30.49 and not $31.50. 2.. They have different sauces to accompany your chicken. 3. The receipt has a section where the franchise wants your feedback. The manager at the Elden street location has taken that out. Never again! Do not go to that store

The last few times I've eaten here (which was about 2 years ago), I've gotten diarrhea. I don't think they change their grease very often.

This type of fried chicken like I mentioned is different and I prefer this over the traditional extra crispy KFC.

I do think that a mix of the steak and other dishes is a good balance but it would've been great to have more greens as an option. It is the perfect combination of solid food, genuine vibes, and great service.

I looked at their menu, then set out to learn about their various entrees. My husband agreed to give it a try. Before going, we settled on trying "Pabellon Criollo" which is considered the Venezuelan national dish. We were here on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and were surprised to see a few large parties dining in. Also, people came in to get their takeout orders. Not sure as to how the ordering worked when dining in, we made our way to their counter. The owner, Carlos, spotted us and got 2 menus. We confirmed that we wanted to dine in. Carlos is very friendly and welcomes customers with a smile. He also was our server. To drink, I had a lemonade while my husband had a can of Coke. We let Carlos know that we were both having the Pabellon Criollo. This dish consists of black beans with a bit of shredded cheese on top, white rice, carne mechado (which was shredded), 2 arepitas (small arepas) and some platanos maduros. When the food came, it was obvious that the platanos were freshly made. Carlos also brought a bottle of brazza sauce (also called "salsa de amor). He told us we could put it on any item we wanted. It's a mild sauce which is mayonnaise based with cilantro. We enjoyed this dish. Everything was mildly seasoned yet still well flavored. Nothing went to waste! When it was time to pay the check, Carlos rang us up. We both say we would like to return and try their steaks. From start to finish, we had a great experience.

I wasn't feeling up to the big chains and places I wanted to try seemed to close early. Luckily this place was open and I had been wanting to try it for a while. Definitely it let a hidden gem! There are some parking spots right in front, although not many. There is a decent amount of seating, but it would be tight if you had a large party. My partner did note that the bathrooms weren't that great. You immediately get served complementary chips and salsa. They were pretty basic, but not bad. We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.

Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we expected, and the food was extremely disappointing. Then I found out the owner is Bolivian not even Argentinian. The chimichurri was red and had a very different taste than what we expected. The green hot sauce was basically like eating raw jalapeño--extremely overpowering. The mashed potatoes were watery and very salty, and the broccoli was literally sitting in so much water that almost half of the bowl was full of it. The rice tasted like microwave rice, and the French fries were just ordinary fries. The biggest disappointment was the meat. It was extremely fatty, chewy, and had almost no flavor. The chicken was overcooked and tasted like leftovers that had been reheated. For an Argentinian restaurant, the quality and preparation of the meat should be one of the highlights, but unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. Honestly, we could barely eat our food and ended up leaving most of it. What made the experience even worse was that, despite barely being able to eat the food, we were still charged half of the meal. The total bill was over $85, and that included $5 for a small cup of what tasted like microwave rice. Just in case the food looks half-empty in the pictures, we did put some of the food onto our plates to try it. Unfortunately, we couldn't eat it, so that's why some of the containers look partially empty. As someone who was genuinely looking forward to trying Argentinian food, this experience was incredibly disappointing. In my opinion, this restaurant does not represent the quality or flavors that people expect from Argentinian cuisine. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I would not return.
