How I received the chicken sandwich I ordered. Fresh out of the wrapper like this.

Have previously really enjoyed food from here. Will never order again. Placed a pickup order, food wasn't ready when we got there. Staff couldn't find the order right away and had to show them on my phone to get it made. Cashier mumbled the whole time, snapping at us and rolling their eyes like it was a huge inconvenience, just generally rude. Waited another 40 minutes for our food. Staff didn't realize my friend spoke Spanish. Oops. They repeatedly referred to us using homophobic slurs. After all that, once we got our food we were in a hurry and booked it home. A large portion (5 piece chicken and dinner rolls) of our order was entirely missing. The french fries were cold and undercooked. And the kicker, one of our sandwiches was made with moldy bread that had been torn up. We contacted corporate, and was told to expect a further response and resolution. It never came. They provided poor service, used slurs, left food out, and served dangerous food. Never again.

**3.75 - 4.0 stars** I've been drooling over the thought of trying out the Peruvian chicken at Pollo Campero - and I finally got around to trying it out earlier this week for dinner. Ordered a 1/4 chicken and Yucca fries, plus a bottle of water. The chicken was moist, savory, and absolutely delicious! Mouth watering good! The Yucca fries were tasty, hot, and crisp - BUT - they were a tad on the greasy side. If they eliminate the greasiness on the fries - I'd up the rating.

Horrible experience! Eight months ago I posted a great review about what it means to eat Pollo Campero. This time I have to post this review to let people know how horrible was my experience at this location last Saturday afternoon. My wife and I went into the store and had to wait for the three teenagers working at the front to stop horse-playing and to make a decision on who will take our order. My wife asked for a 12 piece meal and she was never offer any alternatives or options. She did say that she wanted everything fresh and hot. As we waited for the food, i went to the front and asked the cashier for sauces. She told me that the only sauce available is ketchup and it was on the table. I have had in the past other sauces at other restaurants but I wasn't in the mood to argue (see picture). A few minutes later the food arrived. The chicken wasn't hot so my wife told the girl that had just served it. She called the manager (Jose) a man with 60's glasses and unhappy personality. To our surprise the manager said without talking to her; "you have been BOTHERING us from the moment you came in". He didn't try for a moment to make it better and only wanted to returned us the money. He didn't apologize once or attempted to change the chicken. We drove 16 miles to the store in Sudley Rd to find among other things that: 1. The 12 piece meal was $30.49 and not $31.50. 2.. They have different sauces to accompany your chicken. 3. The receipt has a section where the franchise wants your feedback. The manager at the Elden street location has taken that out. Never again! Do not go to that store

Food was mediocre. Chicken breast was very dry and not tasty at all. Please avoid this place. Pollo Campero is cheap mediocre food.

This type of fried chicken like I mentioned is different and I prefer this over the traditional extra crispy KFC.

Ordering, when dining in, involves giving one's order to the person at the counter. A nice man was working there and greeted us with a smile. I told him it was our first time here and we would probably have a few questions. We looked at the menu (they have one on the wall as well as a laminated one). I chose their 1-scoop platter. For my chicken, I chose "Carol," which is a simply dressed scoop. They have other scoops that have items in them, such as pimentos. For my side, I chose "broccoli salad". Crackers are given with each platter. Plus, a cookie is given (mini round buttercream frosted). My husband got a croissant with Carol's chicken salad. He got a cup of soup instead of a side dish. We each got soft drinks. A cup is given, and it's self-serve. All in all, we enjoyed our meals. The decor, to me anyway, reminded me of an old time kitchen table, complete with plastic tablecloths with prints. I felt the decor gave off a cozy feel.

I came during the afternoon time, so it wasn't terribly busy, so I had a chance to chat with Mo. He told me the back story and how they planned on opening more locations. I ordered the chicken rice bowl and it was made to perfection! Mo also put some chicken on the side with the Fck you cra sauce so I can taste it. It was soooo good, I'm glad the sauce wasn't heavy on the vinegar like store bought hot sauces. I originally chose the fck you cra sauce, but he said I should try the extra hot sauce first to taste the flavor. The toffee cake was so delicious. I couldn't stop eating it! I loved the coconut flakes on the top. The cake itself was so moist. The fries were perfectly crunchy, I ate them before taking a picture. Everything was decently priced with generous portions. There is plenty of parking, shared by other businesses. Would I return!? Sure, if I'm in the area!

We got the RB#2. Two sandwiches with fries. One medium and one Hot. The Hot is like medium compared to other places. The medium is just a normal chicken in my opinion. The size of the chicken is a bit smaller also in comparison and their fries are normal crinkle fries. I also did not like their slaws. It is cut so small that they falls out when eating the sandwich. However, they do have a good variety of sauces. There are limited seating and night we were there it was pretty full. It is probably a good place to go if you live around there and want to get a quick bite. Maybe I will go back and try the Halal Guys style #1.

I decided to give Super Chicken a try when in need of a quick lunch close to home. I opted for the half chicken combo with a side of black beans and plantains. My food was ready well under the quoted 25-30 minute pickup time. I found the food here so-so. The white meat ran a little dry. The chicken itself had a nicely seasoned skin, but the meat underneath tasted muted without any spice notes. Charcoal cooked birds usually have a hint of flavor from the coals, but the rendition here lacked any discernible smoke. The sides tasted as expected. The black beans were bland, but at least were creamy and well cooked. I have no issues with the well fried and perfectly sweet plantains. The sauces here are on par with area competitors, though the staff here are unusually stingy with extra container requests. Overall, while my meal was fine there was nothing "super" about Super Chicken compelling enough to merit a return visit besides proximity. Superior charcoal chicken is easily available elsewhere nearby.
