My family and I love pollo campero. We've ordered from them multiple times. Their fried chicken is always consistently well seasoned, although not the crunchiest fried chicken we've ever had. The spices in their chicken are very unique to them. We actually enjoy their fried chicken more than Popeyes, although pollo campero is more expensive. We also tried their fried chicken sandwiches, which were also delicious. Again, their fried chicken patty was well seasoned and it went well with their pickles. Their pickles were sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. The pickle texture was good too. I even enjoyed their mashed potatoes side, which reminded me a lot of KFC's mashed potatoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying pollo campero if you want to try fried chicken that's not from the usual Popeyes or KFC chains. read more

I came to this location and I ordered 20pc baked. The manage said it's gonna be 30 minutes. I told her okay... I drive to the window and the Manger ask me again about do I want fried or baked... First time ever stopping at this restaurant/fast food and I was so disappointed. The manager was taking care of the cashier register and her attitude was terrible. She had no patience whatever. I haven't had Pollo Campero in a long time, and I am not disappointed with my most recent experience. We ordered a family meal, which came with 20 pieces of chicken, four sides, and tortillas. There was plenty of food for each of us (total of six) and we still had leftovers. For our sides, we got: fries, beans, rice, and mashed potatoes. The sides are pretty generic, but still enjoyable. The chicken was hot and crispy; I really enjoyed it. Everything is served with actual plates and utensils, which I like since it reduces waste. I have tried coming to this location 5 times in the last year, all want is to order some camperitos with French fries, however they never have them, the fryer is not working, someone's cleaning it. At this point take it off the menu if it's that inconvenient to have chicken nuggets. Maybe one day I could come and order it without being disappointed. We finally tried this place when El Pollo Loco closed due to Harvey . The staff is friendly and the place is clean. We have been coming to this location for at least once week now. Even if it's quite a drive from our house. My husband prefers the grilled. I like the fried. The marinade is amazing on the grilled chicken, and I love how the fried chicken has barely any batter & yet juicy. We both love the Campero rice, but for me the Empanadas are heavenly! I have yet to try the Yuca fries. CONS: Chicken cuts are WAY TOO small for the price. El Pollo Loco has larger cuts. Wonder why? The Empanadas again, are amazing although for $1.89 each , is quite pricey. Tonight we went there at 9:15pm and sadly they were out of the grilled. The girl was nice enough to explain that a customer bought a huge order of the grill chicken and the manager decided not to grill anymore. So my husband was quite disappointed he was stuck with the fried chicken. But I appreciate how the manager was apologetic and gave us 2 free empanadas!!! Great customer service! Taste: The food taste amazing as always! I'm glad they opened a location closer to me. I always get the Grilled chicken and although sometimes they overcook it a little, it still taste amazing. I'm glad they don't take the skin off of the grilled chicken before cooking it otherwise the chicken would probably be dry and not taste as good so I'm grateful they got that part right. The grilled chicken is juicy and well seasoned I highly recommend it. When it comes to the sides I recommend getting the Yuca fries with creamy cilantro sauce. The sweet plantains are great as well but I don't like sweet food so I stick to the Yuca Fries. Price: It's priced fair for the Quality of food you get. But the chicken is small so quantity wise it sucks. My only complaint is that the chicken has gotten smaller. I don't know why the hell the chicken is smaller but makes this place not worth coming to. If they wanna fix this problem then I'll comeback. Good taste means nothing if you don't even get enough food. This place is way better than KFC, churches and Popeyes. Way healthier as well. Don't go here around closing time. Its very obvious that these guys are doing everything they can to leave the moment they close. I went 30 minutes before closing and the they were out of black beans, yucca fries were stale, fried chicken was soggy, empanadas were hot outside / cold inside. On top of the bad food it took over 10 minutes to get my food despite me being the only person in line. The employees were not rude however they were less than professional. This place will go out of business quick if they don't start taking lessons from their neighbors at Chick-fil-A. You can't charge tier 1 fast food prices with bottom tier food and service. read more
