Laynes goes hand to hand with Canes. While I personally think that they have better chicken, everything else falls below Canes. The service is nice and clear. Ambiance is well lit, clean, and decorated with the history of the business. The food did come out a tad bit slower but surprisingly did not come out as oily. Definitely worth to try the fast food chicken tender contenders.

Love the chicken. Taste fresh. Employees are always friendly. This is the second location we have visited besides the one in rosenberg. Clean area.

I saw that they have wraps now so I had to try it because I'm a wrap fanatic! I think this was a nice break from the usual tender and fries. It was wrapped tightly and the chicken was crispy and quite flavorful. The simple addition of lettuce, cheese, and a wrap really elevates the chicken to a whole new level. Dipped into ranch and you got the perfect bite! Great if you want a lighter meal.

I asked where the Saigon Hustle restaurant was for an interview, and the manager from Laynes Chicken Fingers took me outside and pointed to a different building outside when the restaurant was actually in the same building. (I know you are going to refute this claim, or make something up, but I was there at 2:00 something PM) and the person working there pretended like he didn't know English, so I showed him the translation from English into Spanish :D Also, I tried adding a review on Google Maps, and they wouldn't let me. I have evidence and I am trying to add it, but Yelp won't let me for some reason.

Extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. The chicken lacked flavor and crispness, as if it had been microwaved before serving. The toast was only done on one side, and when I asked about it, I was told I would need to specifically request both sides toasted. Overall, the food felt overpriced and bland.

They said that this place was a better Canes and yea they right Spicy chicken was 9/10 Fries are kinda the small as Cane The toast in my opinion is better but not a soft You can walk up or down drive thur

Man oh man I cannot wait till laynes has more locations because their chicken was AMAZING Super super tender and flaky and super crispy outside Their chicken actually has flavor without sauce compared to canes Their signature sauce was also different in flavor More tangier than canes but I liked it The chicken was the start of the show they also offer gravy which was nice but I preferred the signature sauce I can't wait for more closer locations

Layne's is a College Station Texas A&M classic, but unfortunately it's still mid for me. The chicken tenders I got were pretty small, and also dry and lacked any good flavor. It's hard to review this place without comparing to Cane's, and I think both the chicken and Texas toast are better at Cane's. The Layne's Sauce is more peppery than Cane's sauce, but has decent flavor and their fries are pretty good as well. The interior has cute TAMU-themed and College Station-themed decorations which improve the vibe overall, but I'd still go to Cane's for the better food.

I have only ever eaten at Cane's. I heard that this place was a competitor. I gotta say... when it comes to original, I still prefer canes, but this place has some very very good spicy tenders. I loved the spicy and I really like the variety of sauces available here. If I was in the mood for a tender with a little spice, I would be here for sure. It did not disappoint. Food was good. Sauces were good. And the shake was pretty good. I liked this place and would definitely come back. Service was pretty quick and friendly. And the place was clean and welcoming. I like Layne's just as much as any Cane's I've been to. Good place to get a quick meal!

Layne's is just like Raising Cane's. I got the chicken fingers with a side of sauce and it was amazing. The chicken was great, super flaky and juicy while not being too oily. The sauce was more tangy than Raising Cane. I'd come back.

Another 5 piece combo, spicy and regular chicken- so delicious. I can't wait to see what other new dishes are to come!

Not only is Laynes so nostalgic for me as a graduate of Texas A&M university, but I receive excellent service every time visiting the Katy location- as well as other locations, and Raahim has provided consistent great service and for that this is my new favorite location. It's about a 45min round trip for me but it's so worth it. Compared to Raising Canes, Laynes is king. From the sauce, to the chicken and drinks, it's a no brainer! Laynes consistently provides excellent food, regardless of the location. Growing up Raising Canes competed with CFA, once you try Laynes chicken you won't go back. Starting from a humble location in College Station, to opening another location across campus, to now having multiple locations I can enjoy across the nation. Raahim provides EXCELLENT service every visit, and embodies what Laynes is all about. From the great food, to the fantastic service, I am a lifelong customer. Raahim has made the experience so much better, by bringing great vibes and creating a welcoming atmosphere, and he deserves the credit due; my family, and friends are lifelong customers as well. I'll be eating here until I stop breathing. Laynes is simply awesome!!! Worth every penny.

I would say this place is pretty comparable to Cane's. The spicy chicken was seasoned well and the fries were good. I personally did not like the piece of toast. Not my favorite type of bread especially since it just felt greasy. I've also had better side sauces. Overall I would go again but maybe try the sandwhiches since I did see they had beef bacon on the menu.

I'd been to the Layne's in College Station before, but it was great to try out their new Katy location and make a judgement on Cane's vs. Layne's. For me, the victor is Layne's. Layne's is almost best described as Cane's with seasoning. Great seasoning on the fries, which are easily Cane's weak spot, but it Carrie's over to the tenders and the Texas Toast. I did wish that Layne's had a cole slaw offering. It reduces some of the shame from an outing like this. Hope to see more Layne's in the Houston area in the future!

This was my first experience ever at a Portillo's. And wow! I have been missing out!…read more This location is humongous! The parking lot is huge. The inside has a ton of seating. We arrived on a Friday around 12:30pm and it was fairly busy. Many of the tables were occupied. The lady at the register was helpful and patient with us as this was our first time. We ordered the chicken tenders, fries, cheese sauce, Italian Beef and Sausage sandwich with sweet peppers, onion rings, and chocolate cake shakes (a must I've heard). Everything was delicious! My husband's beef and sausage sandwich took a little bit of time because they were making it fresh which was much appreciated. The chicken strips were good too. I got the comeback sauce and the Giardiniera sauce and both were really good. The cheese sauce was hot and super tasty. The chocolate cake shakes were delicious. Mr. Black Fine came around to each table to ensure everything was going okay. We told him it was our first time at a Portillo's and he couldn't have been friendlier. He also came around with chocolate cake shake samples, which was awesome. This place is yummy and the vibes were awesome. Can't recommend this location more! I hope to be able to come back if we are ever in the Houston area again.

The parking lot is big and the store is far from other establishments…read more Walking in you can order fro the kiosk or a person at the counter. They have nice merchandise too. We ordered a hotdog, polish sausage, Italian beef sandwich, french fries, queso, dr. Pepper shake. The hotdog, polish sausage, french fries, and queso were really good. They pushed the Dr Pepper shake on me (I really wanted the chocolate cake shake). I took three sips of the shake because I really wanted to like it (I like Dr Pepper and I like ice cream) but I didn't want to torture myself so I threw it away. The tables were a tad greasy but the restrooms were clean. I would come back for the hotdog and Polish Sausage!!!!

I took my brother and his friend to this location as we caught a movie in Cinco Ranch nearby…read more We were greeted by the lovely Holloway who explained the menu and the process of ordering eloquently to our table. I've been to the Austin one for takeout but never dined in...this was going to be a great experience. I got the regular bowl hot with boneless breast and although the breast was extraordinarily small, with a bunch of sauce the plate was delicious. I wish there was a little bit more hummus however. Of course I added a hot skewer à la carte because they're the best darn things on the menu. The manager checked on us to make sure we were having a great dining experience and the staff was super nice and accommodating (it was very slow for a weekend). I wish the place was a bit cleaner but it looked like they were preparing for a huge USA World Cup event the next day.

The food here is absolutely delicious, and the customer service is great! I've been here twice now,…read moreand both times the food has been amazing. I would definitely come back for the food and the service. However, I do have one concern that I really hope the restaurant will consider. I wish they had separate restrooms for men and women instead of having unisex restrooms. The first time I went to the restroom, there was a guy literally getting out of the restroom. When I went inside, the toilet had urine all over it. I didn't want to clean someone else's mess, so I went to the second restroom. Literally, there was another guy getting out of that restroom too, and when I went inside, he hadn't even flushed the toilet. So I had to go back to the first restroom, clean the toilet myself so I could use it, and then go back to my food. Honestly, it was very unpleasant and disturbing, and I felt nauseous afterward. I understand that restroom cleanliness depends on the people using them, but I really wish they would consider having one restroom for women and one for men. It would make the experience much more comfortable and hygienic for everyone. The food and customer service are wonderful, and I truly hope they address this issue because I would love to continue coming back.
