I'm obsessed with Pollo Tropical. My order is wrong frequently, but the food is so good that I honestly don't even care that I have to ask for it to be fixed. I will choose Pollo every day. This experience was worse than usual. Everything was so comically wrong that I felt like I was being punked, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered a chicken tropichop, but they gave me pork. When I asked them to remake it, they gave me no protein; they literally handed me a bowl of just rice and veggies. My mom's order was also wrong. The cashier was super nice and tried to help, but the employee getting our order together seemed super out of it and confused, to the point that it was bizarre. Located on the corner of Flamingo and Griffin Rd, this Pollo Tropical is tucked away behind the CVS. Ordered in the mobile app and arrived on time to get my order. While they have a section for mobile orders, my order wasn't there. The cashier was taking an order but it wasn't taking quite a while. I saw a box packed up and was pretty sure it was my order sitting there waiting to be bagged up. I told the cashier I was picking up a mobile order and she said just a minute. I had a craving for Pollo Tropical for some reason. I remember I used to really like it in the 90s. It has changed. I ordered a 1/4 chicken with rice and beans. Nothing is great and nothing is bad. It is just there. The beans had little flavor. The chicken was okay. I think they need more employees working here. The staff looked overwhelmed. ...I wish they would keep their drink station cleaner. I ended up not even using my cup because it did not look clean. Sigh. I do like that they are right by CVS. Where is the negative one star? Please refer to the photos. I do not believe a paragraph is needed to explain the quality of the food. I cannot believe they had the audacity to serve those "wraps" to any customer. I ordered on the app, arrived as indicated on the app, and still waited 35 minutes for the food shown. Customer service also terrible. I heard team members say they did not have any side dishes outside of black beans and rice. When I received my order and asked what about the side dishes I ordered that they did not have, they tried playing off that they had put it in the bag. I had to un-bag everything for them to see that they did not give me the sides I paid for. When I asked for alternatives, they informed me they only had black beans and rice. I asked for a refund and they wrote on a blank piece of paper that they owed me three sides because they could not give me a monetary refund. Who would ever go back to this location? So in trying to make things right, a nice corporate person sent me 5 coupons totaling 25 dollars. I thought it a grand gesture. The first time I went to use the coupon, I found out that I could only use one at a time. In other words a five dollar discount 5 times. HERE IS THE CRAZY PART!! I ended up getting two of the grilled chicken Cuban sandwiches. They were actually good and I will have to share a photo from the next time. They use Pollo Tropical chicken breast, ham, jack cheese, and pickles on panini bread. It was pressed, cut in half and wrapped in paper. I never thought it would happen, the Pollo Tropical in Cooper City redeemed the entire company, at least at this location. The staff was professional, with a can-do attitude. The quality of the food exceeded expectations since my experience at several other Pollo Tropical restaurants has been extremely disappointing. The restaurant on Commercial Boulevard near Pine Island was the rock-bottom worst. The Davie location on University Drive was just bad around. The west Sunrise Boulevard location, near Sawgrass Mills Mall, would rate a 'D,' which is a passing grade but who brags about getting a 'D' on their report card? Finally when I get to the window while waiting I am looking inside and can see the trash cans overflowing with trash all over the floors, prep areas messy and dirty. By this point I am really considering wether I want to eat from this place or not. So I see them bagging my food and when she picks up the bag to hand it to me it was dripping at the bottom. When I pulled up to see the counter next to the cash register where she placed my food to bag it had a large puddle of some brown liquid. That was it! I was grossed out by how disgusting this place is. By the way the woman who handed me my food was the manager. Not only was she rude and unwelcoming but a nasty manager that keeps a disgusting dirty establishment. I had issues at this place before unfortunately it is the closest to my home but after tonight I will never ever go there again. If they are that nasty with the cleanliness of the restaurant then the food prep is probably the same. What a shame! I usually don't like leaving such few stars but this place really deserves it. Obviously the DM doesn't care because they've been getting horrible reviews pretty much since day so they apparently aren't concerned about changing things up. I went with my husband and the chicken was dry and the place was a mess. The workers very slow they don't seem to be in any rush to help the customers out and thrir attitudes are all absolutely horrible. When I mentioned that the cilantro sauce was empty, the girl actually rolled her eyes before having someone come over to change it. Also, while we were there another customer came in from the drive-through and got into a screaming match with the manager who was very rude to her. I was stilll hungry after words I felt like going to another Pollo to get another troppichop. I eat at Pollo 5 days a week, different locations. I've never had this experience. This is the closest pollo to my house. They've broken so many sanitation rules. I've called to complain with no response. The first time I tried to complain I ordered the quesadilla salad. I got home to find my salad dripping in water. My salad consisted of only lettuce, chicken and beans. They forgot all the ingredients and the quesadilla. I just went right now because my brother wanted to go. We watched them clean the restaurant and pack his food without changing gloves. Then we watched them take our food back and put the ingredients back in their containers. Spoke to the manager and she seemed to find everything t This is the dirtiest restaurant. Needs to be shut down. 3/31 update: the response from customer care is underwhelming as well.
