We come here very often and the food is always pretty good. The chicken soup is so good. It has Yuka, plantain, chicken and corn. Their Yuka fries are good too and the flan is nice. The chicken is dry sometimes but it's still flavorful. The beans and rice are ok I really like the red beans but they don't have it anymore. They only have black beans now. Their sweet plantains are also good. Honestly, there isn't really anything that I've eaten there that I wouldn't have again. The roles are probably my least favorite as they don't really have any flavor to them. It's just like a hamburger bun. We will continue coming here to eat though because it is something quick and easy for us and the locations are usually pretty convenient. We never really eat inside. Service was bad... I put in a large 20 person online order for my office lunceon at 10:00. I scheduled for pickup for 12:30 and they didn't start making my order until I walked in the door at 12:32. I dont understand why they would wait that long. They had another large order ready and made ahead of time that sat on the counter my entire wait. The food has great flavor. However, this location regularly misses on the details. For example, the first time I ordered, they completely left out all of our sauces. The next order, even with me adding a note to please check the sauces, they included 5 random sauces that didn't match the six we requested (and were part of our meal, not something extra). I was also extremely disappointed when I ordered two add on chicken breasts. The photo when ordering showed two full-sized chicken breasts as you would expect. Food is good, friendly staff. My only complaint is that paper napkins are not set out, so customers have to ask for a napkin which is unsanitary. The staff is handling other things like trays, money etc and then touches the napkins to hand to customer from behind the counter. I went inside and the line was long as the drive thru. cashier took the orders and went in back to socialize with the manager. 5 people on the line and 2 people at the drive up window, but no one making the food for inside service. all the food was being prepared and made for the drive thru window. The serving line was a mess (food was scattered everywhere).! The cook used the same gloves to get meat from the freezer to place on the grill and still used the same gloves to chop up the chicken for the customers (he never changed gloves)! Recently relocated from Miami - there's a common standard from pollo tropical that is expected but that's definitely not the case at this location. I'd like to start this review by saying, I'm not the type of customer that only writes a review when they have a complaint. Please, take a look at my profile for reference. Walked into this Pollo Tropical tonight (well, technically, last night) at approximately 10:50pm with my lady. We've been to this location before, & while we've never experienced extraordinary service, no prior visit has been as horrendous as this. As we approached the counter, we weren't greeted for at least 30 seconds, though there were AT LEAST 5 workers behind the counter. Finally, one of those workers in the back behind the grill acknowledged us & alerted the others that we were there - one of whom appeared to be a manager, who said "hello," but seemed more interested in completing his inventory list, or perhaps his closing checklist. A young lady, who obviously would've rather not have been inconvenienced by our presence, approach the computer & asked us if we were ready to order. My lady needed another minute to decide, so I let her know & apologized for not being ready. No counter of "please, take your time," or even a simple "no worries" was offered. After a few moments she came back to take our order. "To-go?" She suggested. As if dining in wasn't an option. We knew the restaurant was open until midnight, so we chose to dine-in, although that, apparently, wasn't an option according to the option we were given (or should I say, "according to the options we WEREN'T given") by the cashier. ..Eventually, when we got our food, it was already in to-go containers, (as shown in the photo below) as if to say, "we know you said, 'for here,' but we'd rather you go." Then, after finally getting our food & sitting BACK down (because we'd been sitting there for about 5 minutes before our food came up), an older lady who had just begun mopping the floors, hissed at us! (I only say "hissed" because I don't know how else to describe the sound she made to gain our attention.) Apparently, she didn't speak any English, but had communicated through hand gestures that she wanted us move from where we were sitting, at a table in the middle of the dining area to a booth by the door so she could finish mopping. Although a bit irritated, we politely adhered because we knew she was just trying to finish her work in order to go home at a decent time. When we finally decided to leave at 12:02am, a friendly staff member held the door for us & told us to "have a great night." Honestly, I wish I would've gotten those two gentlemens' names: the one who held the door for us - he had dreadlocks & a 5 o'clock shadow - & the cook who greeted us & pointed out to both the cashier & the manager that we were there - he had short hair & a low-cut beard, (he should be managing the place, if you ask me). Those two points were about the only pleasant parts of our visit. That, & of course, the food was good! And those are the only reason I didn't give this review a 1-Star. read more

Tonight had to take my meal back because i ordered, and paid extra, for all white meat that was a mix of white and dark. Told i would have to wait for the white meat...i did. Oh my where do I even start. I am from Miami, I am a regular customer in Miami. Came to Orlando to visit happen to stop by this specific restaurant. And just to start off. As I was waiting for my food to gentleman had his mask half off it was not covering his nose at all the mask even fell sometimes below his first lip he did not care To move it back up. He then kept instructing me to stand in the spot due to the 6 feet rule. Which I completely understand but I found it kind of odd that he was telling me to follow guidelines when he wasn't following it himself. He was also touching literally everything and anything and did not change his gloves not ones. He also had absolutely no sense of urgency. To be honest with you he seemed kind of high for not wanting to work at all. Are usually really hate complaining but I had to ask to speak to a manager. The manager WAS absolutely wonderful. Usually managers give an attitude back to the customer or don't do anything about the situation at all. She immediately told him to put his mask up and to change his gloves she was absolutely wonderful she then checked on my food to make sure that it was coming out. It seems like she had a handle on things just a really bad apple in the bunch I guess when it came to that gentleman. Today is March 2, 2021 I was at the store around 12 o'clock Again my bad stars are not due to the manager. we ordered from door dash. we ordered extra sauces at a cost of 2.20 and Caesar side salad 3 dollars and something and side of plantains 3 dollars and something and not delivered in order. Regardless of ordering on DoorDash this location has horrible customer service (horrible attitudes every time we go) they never have the order correct when you go and order there. there employees should think how would o like to be treated as a customer and maybe that will change things highly doubt it but always looking forward. Wow! I looked at reviews after trying to visit this location and they are spot on. I would give half a star, if possible. I've been here before and it was ok. I remember the service being pretty decent. Well, today, when it was raining cats and dogs, as it does in Florida, they were NOT decent. We went through the drive thru and my mother, who was driving could not hear them. Plus, the covering is way too small and you get completely drenched at the machine. We decided what we wanted and pulled to the window where the worker did not even open the window, had her arms crossed, and had a pissed off face as if SHE was the one getting wet and inconvenienced. She motioned that we needed to go back around and order at the machine. There was no one behind us. She could have taken our order at the window. We decided to take our business elsewhere.
