The inconsistency with this store is appalling. I went to eat lunch there Saturday with a friend. It took a moment for them to come up and even bother serving the customers in line. The chicken was amazing as well as the rice. I ordered a mango smoothie to go with my meal. I wish it was a bit sweeter like mangoes generally are. They seem to skimp on the portions of their cilantro lime sauce though. I then came here last night through the drive through, and when I got home, my chicken was BURNT to a crisp. It was horrendous. How on earth are you okay with serving your customers charred chicken? I barely had any decent chicken left to eat after picking off the burnt contents on it. It's a shame because I really do enjoy Pollo, but after the stark difference between ONE day, I'll just have to go elsewhere. read more

Sometimes you don't miss things until they're not readily available. Except, you know, I already knew I'd miss this chain given prior experience. Moving to Tallahassee, they have one of these at the university, but even then, options are limited and I never go there. Consequently while in Tampa, you know I had to get my Tropichop. I wound up ordering from Uber Eats as I was working from a hotel room and struggling big time with my work computer. I figured some comfort food wouldn't hurt. Ordered a regular-sized Tropichop with white rice and black beans, grilled chicken, and pieces of corn. It was downright delicious. Piping hot, just made, and it ultimately hit the spot. When visiting Florida every trip I am told the same thing you need to try this place Pollo tropical this last visit I was finally able to see what the hype is about they advertised citrus grilled chicken as their main dish They actually grill the chicken right in front of you and chop it to order which is unique The menu also offers chorizo and pork chop as well as rice and beans and desserts I got the variety powder and it was very delicious they also have different sauces to try that are very unique I like the pineapple rum the best However this location needs some attention the bathroom was horrible they were literally missing the toilet seat and it was very dirty the staff seemed overwhelmed but we're doing their best to make sure the orders went out properly the trash is overflowing and the tables were very clean you can tell that staffing is an issue here overall it was a good experience and I will try them again hopefully they can fix the concerns read more

Being from Los Angeles, I'm pretty picky when it comes to food spots, but Pollo Tropical really impressed me. The food is fresh, flavorful, and different from anything back home. Jeimy, the cashier, was super friendly and made the experience even better with her great attitude and attention to detail. I called this one before driving that way and it was great, can't remember who I spoke to but she said we are open until 10 and we serve food until 10. As I am driving back home I get a call from pollo tropical and it was the same lady asking me if I was going to grab my food I told her yes I have my food and I'm driving back home too. Tried to use the family meal coupon at the Fowler location today and the cashier working pretended the coupon didn't work and was already redeemed yet rang up the people in front of me. The manager came over and co-signed this behavior by literally doing, saying nothing, and offering no solution. Funny, because I work with their company and am able to pull the branch managers names at the drop of a hat.... I'm not into transforming into a Karen like that but when a coupon magically works with the people before you, and then the cashier loudly screams that they are tired of doing free chicken coupons, and corporate needs to put a stop to it. The cashier and the manager was ghetto as hell. I asked for pineapple sauce and she told me that they didn't have it. The next customer asked for it and she gave it to her. They are unprofessional. The dining room is dirty and so are the workers. No one looked neat. None of the guys had haircuts or were clean shaven. One of the workers had her kids there while she was working and they were running around being loud. The cover was not on the soup and the cashier had an attitude when I asked to purchase more rice. I went in today for their monthly Military Appreciation Day - free 1/4 chicken platter with 2 sides for active duty and veterans. I do love the taste of the food from this restaurant however I've only been there three times and every single time they have managed to mess up my simple order! The family meal.... I think what makes it even worse than the fact that they messed something up that basically just comes with five items is the fact that they will not pick up their phone during business hours or any hours for that matter.
