Here we go, the once quick Latin food place is starting to lose quality. I've long been a fan of Pollo Tropical, but lately our orders are wrong, for example today we order a half chicken with a Cesar salad as our side, large pork and chicken tropichops, an order of yuca bites and a large Diet Coke. Every single part of the order had something wrong. The half chicken included yellow rice and black beans, both I had opted out for a Ceasars salad, the tiny side Cesar salad had no dressing. The tropichops which I order with no onions, just chicken, pork, black beans and rice , had this new mango spicy sauce all over it. instead of a large diet they gave me a medium and finally they shorted me a yuca bite. Every single thing we ordered was wrong. To top it off the half chicken was extremely burnt, and the yellow rice which I didn't order was cold as ice. Talk about a fail. I gave it points for convenience and the cashier was friendly. I'm getting to the give up point with them. You can't tell me that you don't know a piece of chicken is burnt when you serve it to someone. I hope this review helps them realize that customers are people you want back. read more

This Pollo Tropical location has a high turnover due to the amount of people coming here for lunch during the week, so the food is typically fresh. Unfortunately the lines during lunchtime during the week are very long inside and in the drive-thru but they try their best to serve customers promptly. Love this counter service chain! The chicken is so tasty, its consistent at any location, grilled +lightly seasoned, one cannot go wrong feeding yourself or your family their food. I stick to the lean sections like the pollo chop chop. If you are in the mood for hispanic food they have some good items but they are fried in oil so know what your getting yourself into, not all their selections are healthy. The also offer brown rice which kinda taste like instant rice but hey it works when you have chicken to mix it with. Their black beans are good but sometimes I feel they have too much sodium in them. Overall its a decent chain and I would stop here if you wanted something fast that fits a budget. read more

First word that comes to mind to describe this Pollo Tropical is DIRTY!!! I work in the area & always drive by to see a huge line & unbearable parking lot (the drive through line blocks 75% of the parking spots). Anyways, it was early today & I decided that I'd beat the lunch rush (which I did). Upon entering around 11:30am there were maybe 4 tables that were taken, but the place looked filthy!! Empty tables dirty & the area where you get salsa & silverware looked like a bomb had gone off!! How the hell does this place get so dirty so early? Obviously staff doesn't put a premium on cleanliness. One lady running two registers. I didn't wait in line long, but I only had 2 people in front of me. By the time I finished this review & left the line was almost out the door. Food is your typical Pollo Tropical food, which is usually very hit & miss.....& it missed this time. Tiny, dry, over cooked chicken breast, watery beans & a Caesar salad with a giant glob of dressing on top, in a tiny paper container that I couldn't mix & distribute the dressing. So the first few bites were mostly dressing & the last few were just dry miscellaneous lettuce pieces. Almost inedible. Oh & the tray I got my food on had about 1/4" of water (at least I hope it was water) in it. I mean, how hard is it to wipe a tray down before you give it to a customer?? Pretty gross if you ask me. It seems like it's a requirement to get the order wrong. Every single time something in my order is missing and comes out cold. Chicken never tastes good. Also wait is extremely long. Unacceptable I had to get my money back, and about almost 8 employees who were clueless With 4 of them just standing around with so much to do at this place including their manager who wasn't even apologetic after I mentioned that it was unacceptable for them to accept my money, and attempt to serve me in this disgusting establishment. This might be the worst pollo I ever been to. I love the troppa chop but today I went for lunch and and after my first bite I regretted it immediately. The chicken was the hardest chicken I've ever eaten. The rice was still hard and stale. They forgot my peppers and onions. I was told by the manager in a very rude way but I could not get a free cup of water with my order. I don't drink Coke and I'm not gonna pay that over price for a bottle. Love the chicken when cooked right! Problem is there is no consistency and portion control is non existent. Sometimes you get mouth watering, flavorful and done right chicken and sometimes it's dry and does not taste all that flavorful. The place is usually packed as the price is right and you can have a hearty lunch for 6 to 7 bucks. Condiment bar usually is well taken care off but more often is in disarray. Staff seems friendly enough even though the female shift manager barks orders with no regard to who is listening. Great place for a quick, tasty and healthy meal. As the name says Pollo or chicken is really good. Coupled with a salad or veggie its very healthy and satisfying. There is much more than chicken on there menu now. They also serve steak, fish, shrimp and pork. Oh, the pork. Soo good. The mast employee tells me "you need to cancel you order with the app we can't do that here" after calling 3 numbers I finally get a hold of someone in an office somewhere in Hialeah and they tell me the "office" to process refunds is closed today. This is the type of place that I would go to often when in the mood for something fast but "healthy". I had one of the build your own Tropichop bowls. To me, coming from Southern California, this place is El Pollo Loco marries Chipotle, and raised their offspring in a South American influenced culture. The food was great. Chicken was busy getting grilled in the back (just like you would see at El Pollo Loco), and everything seemed fresh. The build your own option allows you to make the type of meal you are in the mood for from Latin to BBQ to down home rice/meat/veggies. Delicious food but incredibly long wait times. I went through the drive thru around 6:30 pm, they had an employee taking order but he didn't have a menu for me to pick something to eat. I googled their menu and was able to place my order. After 25 mins through the drive thru I was given my order (no crotons on my salad :( though) The price was under $10 which wasn't bad for a real meal, but the wait times are ridiculous. I'm not sure if they're under staffed or just unorganized, if wait times were under 10 mins that's reasonable, but for a restaurant that has almost ALL their food ready it's too long. I really hope they fix their times, I don't know how they manage to run so slow. read more

Terrible! Do not waste your time. I placed an online order via PolloTropical.com. Thinking I was being efficient because I had to be quick to get back to work. Placed the order at 4:19 and got an email right away to come in at 4:30pm. I came in at 4:31pm and didn't see my order at the online/mobile orders kiosk. I patiently waited a few more minutes. At 4:40 I asked if they were making my order and the girl asked for my name and walked away. I waited 10 more minutes and asked the same girl why my order wasn't ready- she replies "Because I haven't made it" and walks away.
