Real good authentic food. Brought me back to when my family would get together. Friendly staff, food is amazing. From the drinks to the food you'll be in heaven. I've been coming here for a long time and have not been disappointed at all.

Wanna try sumpin different? Peruvian food! I know, if it is so good, why aren't there more restaurants serving it? Well, it's slightly, pleasantly different, but not break-out different. Nevertheless, you should try it at least once, especially you hot sauce variety fanatics. The week after Christmas I needed to eat healthy. Rotisserie chicken. Again. I need something with a twist, so I try the Peruvian style: Pollo a la Brasa (well, it's the restaurant name, so it must be good, right?) Main: Roasted chicken is mildly spiced, so I add some sauce (see description below) Side included: Salad was just shredded lettuce with ranch, topped with cucumbers Side included: French fries are perfectly cooked Sauce in a bottle: What looks like Chuy's creamy cilanjtro jalapeno dressing turns out to be much hotter and has a unique peppery flavor. I ask the waitress about it, and she explains it contains a Peruvian pepper called Aji Amarillo (similar to a banana pepper), "black mint" (Huacatay, an Andean herb similar to mint and basil), feta cheese and enough water to make the consistency like ranch dressing. Yehaouch !! (combination of yee-haa and ouch) For a different drink, I try the most popular carbonated drink in Peru, Inca Kola (a combination of an herb called "Hierba Luisa", lemon verbena, guarana and 10 other 'special plant' derived flavors). I love the it-must-glow-in-the-dark bright yellow-green-gold color, but it is a bit too sweet for me, and the taste is ...well... different. Yet, I would order it again here. See: http://www.in.com/videos/watchvideo-inca-kola-spot-3795432.html If you Peruse the menu, you will note some interesting variations in Seafood, Chicken, Beef offerings (as in 'to you', not the gods). Some look healthy, and some look less so. Like finding Machu Picchu, this place is hard to find, because it's on the other side of the well-worn strip center's sign on 249 (West Mount Houston). The service is friendly and prompt (lunch time), and the visible parts are clean, including the kitchen. If only they served complementary plantain chips and their hot sauce, I could Lima cares behind. P.S. They have some occasional Peruvian music and get-togethers here.

First time having Peruvian food at a restaurant usually it's all friends home cooking. This place is a little bit of your typical hole in the wall but with that goes good food. I recommend the papa relleno and an Inca Cola it won't take you to Machu Pichu but damn it's close.

Papa a La HuancainaThis spot is interesting, especially for the area its in. I tried the Papa a la Huancaina, mixed ceviche, and Salchipapa for appetizers. The papa was pretty good, it was different. The mixed ceviche was very fresh and tasty. The salchipapa I did not like it was french fries with what tasted like a cheap hot dog cut over it . It looked like they slapped the dish together for some child. It really doesn't fit their menu and should get rid of it or alter it. For entrees I tried the Aji de Gallina and Cau Cau. The aji sauce on the chicken was probably a little richer than it should have been and the tripe in the Cau Cau was pretty tasty and well seasoned. For dessert we got a flan that had a different name but tasted like normal subpar flan. There was also a cookie-like dessert with powdered sugar on top and that one was pretty tastyPapa a La Huancaina albeit slightly overpriced. I would come back here another time or 2 but probably not more than that.

I move to Houston a year ago and I have been looking for Pollo a la Brazas, authentic Peruvian flavor and not just your regular rotisserie chicken flavor. So far this is the best I've had around the Houston area. Their (Aji) the green salsa they give you with your order is super delicious and very spicy, so if you like spicy salsa I highly recommend it. They serve your pollo with french fries and a salad. This place is far from my house but it's totally worth the drive when I am craving Peruvian rotisserie chicken! Is a bit over price but is worth the craving I wish they had something closer to my side of town towards cypress, but for now this is the spot The area is a little shady but I always take it to go.

This is a very cute Peruvian whole in the wall. My first experience with Peruvian food. Everyone in our party enjoyed their plate. The service is really good and the food taste fresh. The place is packed and you can tell the local families enjoy the cuisine. I will definitely return.

I think it might be my goal to try all the Peruvian restaurants in Houston. Well, yesterday I went to Pollo Alabraza El Rancho, which by the way is already a mouthful to even say. The place is located in NW Houston in the Aldine area. Maybe not the best place in town to try new foods but we went anyways. I was kinda hesitant at 1st because the place is located by a "massage parlor" and the outside didn't look so well. Well, we went inside anyways. I has a craving for some Peruvian food. Actually, the place didn't look so bad once inside. Pleasantly surprised. The menu had typical Peruvian dishes. Pollo alabraza, lomo saltado, arroz chaufa, Papa a la Huancaina, etc. All dishes sounding good, I ordered as an appetizer, Papa al la Huancaina. Which is potatoes served with a bright spicy yellow sauce. The only problem I had, was when I said I wanted it, the waitress said only one of us could order it. (We were a group of 4) We arrived there before the "dinner rush" so I was surprised they only have enough for one person. Papa a la Huancaina is a very typical dish to order with your food. This place is defiantly a mom and pop restaurant. I shared my dish with my BF and the sauce was AWESOME! Really good. For my main dish, I ordered Aji de Gallina. A favorite dish of mine. Aji de Gallina is Chicken stew served witha yellow creamy sauce (different sauce from Papa a la Huancaina) potatoes, and white rice. The dish was good but not awesome or maybe my expectations were really high. I also had my meal with the popular drink, chicha morada which came in a bottle. Now a days all Peruvian restaurants serve it that way instead of making it fresh. Overall, I had a good experience at Pollo Alabraza El Rancho and everybody left full and happy.

The place seems to be family owned and has some charm. The food was ok but it was expensive for what it was.

I can honestly say this place has the best Peruvian chicken in Houston. Totally delicious!! My 45 minute drive here is always well worth it.

Best ceviche hands down. The food is delicious. The spot might not look like the best from the outside but from the inside is all good.

This time I called in an order for tallarines saltados and two whole chickens for my family. They told me it would be ready in an hour, which was fine. When I arrived to pick it up, the owner handed me the food and casually said he replaced my tallarines with lomo saltado -- without asking me first. He said it was "a better choice" and that they were out of tallarines. I told him clearly that I did not want lomo saltado, but he kept insisting, so I just took it to avoid arguing. When we got home, the real problem started -- both chickens were undercooked, tough, and hard to chew. It was so bad that I told my kids and family not to eat any of it, and I ended up throwing everything in the trash. I paid good money for this meal, and we didn't get to eat at all. Changing an order without consent and serving raw chicken is not acceptable. I won't be coming back.
