LFB is in a touristy area also frequented by locals near Redondo Beach. There is a paid public lot near by, but locals know that you can park for free on the lettered streets just north of this area and walk over. LFB has a very small store front in a relatively small strip mall and is off the Main Street and so not too visible, but not hard to find with a map app. The service people were reasonably friendly, but we felt a bit rushed going through their line. There is limited seating outside (only two tables outside apparently shared with other near by businesses) and barely enough room for the line inside with no indoor seating. So plan to get your food and eat it while you walk on the beach, in your car, or at any near by scenic overlook point. We got four items: mushroom pastry, chicken jalapeño pastry, beef curry pastry, and chicken croquette. We liked all of them. The chicken jalapeño pastry had good flavor but was not super hot--others will not think it is not hot enough. The mushroom pastry is literally covered and heaped with mushrooms, so make sure u like mushrooms if u try it. The chicken croquette was very "potatoy" but seemed to have decent amount of chicken. The beef curry pastry absolutely had the best flavor, but it was super greasy. Make sure to check their menu online for the most recent offerings before you go so that you do not slow down their line or feel rushed and definitely give these guys a try if in the area. read more

Stopped by the Little French Bakery after a Galentine's lunch because we weren't ready for the day to end without something sweet. The display case alone will get you -- everything looked so good. We ended up getting the red velvet cookie and a peanut butter cookie. The peanut butter cookie was really good -- flavorful but not overpowering, and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. It had that classic soft texture with just enough chew. The red velvet cookie, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for me personally. If you love super sweet desserts, you'll probably enjoy it, but it was a little much for my taste. Food: I ordered the Parisian sandwich this time, which included prosciutto, brie, pesto aioli, and arugula on a baguette. Again, there was nothing fancy about the sandwich, but it was just so good ... the crusty, chewy baguette keeps me coming back. Update: As I was sitting outside enjoying my sandwich, I realized that I had previously reviewed the Little French Bakery on the wrong scale. I was comparing it to fine dining restaurants on a single food scale. But I should have been comparing it to other bakeries, cafes, and delis (e.g., Panera or Sweet Wheat). Can I just say WOWWWW. The owners are incredibly kind, and so is the entire staff. I happened to stop by on a day when the owner spontaneously made tiramisu croissants, and they were absolutely amazing. They're not a regular menu item, which made it feel even more special. We've tried several other pastries since then, and everything has been delicious. You can really tell that care and quality go into what they make. I would definitely recommend stopping by. There are plenty of coffee shops around that serve pastries, but if you're going to treat yourself, it's worth getting your pastry here instead of settling for the average options elsewhere. I stumbled upon this charming little French bakery during a regional staycation in the area, and I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm, buttery aroma of fresh croissants. Little French Bakery was founded in 2020 -- such a short run. It is run by Chef Guillaume Sabbadin (originally from France) and wife Debora Sabbadin. I have not had the good fortune to meet them, but appreciate how they are running this family-owned shot. Apparently, they have been in the food industry for decades and had a catering company before. You can tell. Everything is so fresh and good! And it is such a cute, cozy cafe with outdoors seating (only -- no seating inside). If you are in luck, they will be serving their peach tart. They also have a pear tart. But the peach is so decadent and bursting with amazing flavor. It needs nothing else -- not coffee or tea. It is the perfect balance of everything. Their croissants -- plain and chocolate -- are perfect folds of buttery goodness. Whether you're after an authentic French pastry or just looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a quiet morning, this bakery is an absolute gem. I look forward to being able to come back. read more

This place is a truly little gem that sells different types of pastries and baguettes. I tried their Parisian baguette sandwich and a red velvet cookie. The bread was pretty hard, but definitely not as a hard as other breads I've had. They give a lot for $14.50. Their prices also include the taxes in them already. The good: My husband and I have a major sweet tooth so we happily decided go come here after discovering it was by the beach. I got the marzipan chocolate hat pastry, a hazelnut mousse cake with raspberry, a chocolate cake with raspberry inside, a chocolate chunk cookie, two Rieme sodas, Orangina soda, and a canele ($3). The hat pastry and hazelnut cake were my favorites. I loved the crunchy lower layer of the hazelnut cake. I also liked the shiny dark chocolate mirror glaze. The cookie had a great texture and wasn't overly chocolatey even though it looked like it. I liked how they had a huge selection of savory pastries as well with ingredients like mushroom and various cheeses. The bad: There's no indoor seating. I'm unsure if you can buy full cakes. Outside, there were a few tables for around 3-4 people each. The chocolate cake was too rich for me. They don't sell French butter here the way a few of the other French stores around here do. I hosted a small brunch party and didn't want to make my own food. I emailed Little French Bakery about 2-3 weeks ahead of time, and they helped tell me what I would need to provide for what I was planing. I wanted a variety of food to offer, so I ordered a full quiche, two sandwiches (the salmon and the chicken salad) and the charlotte cake (as it was also a birthday!). I thought the price was not only fair, but really a good deal for not only the quality of food I received, but also for the quantity. It was a big serving for what seemed like a great price. I think the charlotte cake was the best cake I've had maybe ever. Definitely top 3 - I didn't know what to expect really, but it was literally amazing; incredible. Everyone said so. The berries within it were so sweet and fresh and it was BEAUTIFUL as well. I personally adored the salmon sandwich, though my guests ate up the chicken salad first! Both were so good, hard to choose which was better. The quiche was much larger than expected but so delicious and an amazing texture. I had leftovers even after people took some home. But no problem - I was happy to have some leftover for myself :) When I picked up my order the morning of the brunch birthday party, the chef told me how I should store everything and reheat the quiche. They were ready with my order, it was packaged securely, and the staff was attentive and kind. The bakers/chefs are obviously talented! The attendants were all super nice and welcoming, like your perfect representative of neighborhood bakery as they treated me like I've been a regular. The moment I parked and stepped out of the car, I could already smell the butter in the air, that's always a sign that you're about to walk into something freshly baked and good. My FAVORITE ham and cheese croissant is from Little French Bakery. They use gruyere and a lot of ham and the texture and buttery aroma of the croissant is absolutely delicious! Happy I took a walk this morning because I stumbled passed Little French Bakery and ordered some breakfast for the family. Ordered: Fresh Baguette, Ham and Cheese Croissant, Egg & Bacon Sandwich, plain Croissant and a smoked salmon pastry. Yum, yum, yum! My favorite was the ham and gruyere cheese croissant. A good one is hard to come by! They also have sandwiches made with their baguette that's crunchy and soft. Everything tasted so fresh and good, definitely a Redondo Beach/South Bay gem. They have a small parking lot but of a ton of parking signs the area, especially in the back by Trader Joe's. The inside of the bakery is small and doesn't have seating but the beach is a short stroll away. Can't wait to come back to try everything else! read more
