My husband and I went to a Pollyanna Brewing - Roselle with a friend on a Friday night. When we arrived in the parking lot we could hear the music from the bar. When we entered the bar I was taken aback by how loud the live singer and guitarist was. The artist did have good engagement with the audience. I sampled one of their non-alcoholic drinks and it wasn't bad. They don't serve food but they did have a food truck available outside the front door. The atmosphere was nice with a great big outdoor seating area. With better music or a softer sound system Pollyanna Brewing - Roselle could be a nice neighborhood bar. read more

I've been coming here since it opened and it gets better and better. Huge (and always changing) selection beers and spirits. They have a couple of wines and some non alcoholic as well. Bring your own food or enjoy a food truck when the have them. There is always a server nearby waiting to help. Service was good - we didn't wait for an extended period of time to order and receive drinks. We sat on the outdoor patio and made sure to stay close to the inside area so we could hear the announcer for trivia. There weren't speakers on the patio so it got challenging to hear at times. We've been to Pollyanna before for beers and board games years ago, and returned recently to kick off the Labor Day Weekend. We sat on the patio with a nice umbrella to help keep us cool, and ordered Oktoberfest and a Silver Tiger cocktail made with elderflower liquor, vodka, simple syrup and lemonade. It was delicious. The next round we had included Lite Thinking Lager and a sour ale. The sour ale was so sour we asked for a little of the simple syrup from the Tiger cocktail to add to it, which our server happily supplied. It really made the sour something special. I am not a fan of sours but my wife likes them but this was a super sour! We also bought some Summerly ale to bring home for later. Pollyanna is one of our favorite local brewers. 2024 Patio Season is here! My partner and I came out to Pollyanna Roselle on a sunny, warm Saturday for a drink on the patio. He tried both the Lite Thinking and White Pear/Guava Seltzer. Neither of us had tried the seltzer before and loved it; the perfect easy summer drink! I also got a classic vodka sprite. It was very busy but staff kept up with the demand gracefully. The patio has a mix of shaded and sun exposed seating, is dog/family friendly, and has string lights for the evening. They do partnered food trucks on certain days but otherwise is bring your own food. We also love that they have board games to grab and play! By far one of our favorite warm weather hang outs. read more

Brought out of town cousin on Saturday for a beer. Cousin brewers his own so he loves going to local breweries . We walk in and they say there is a wedding but said we can have 1 beer. So we sat outside and stayed away of them setting up . Just as my cousin finishes last sip an employee come out and says we need to leave. I state "we are finishing up and we are leaving" and she states " we need you to leave the facility now" . She could have said it so different without being so rude. It's not last time I experienced it from this facility. The strawberry blonde ignored our group for 30 minutes and we got up and left. I chalked that up because they were busy . One of my favorite drinks here is their spicy gimlet and with there being so many brewery options in the area, it's that drink that helps me choose this one. Today they were unable to make that drink and are only offering 4 cocktails. I went to the bar to inquire the why behind this and a VERY kind gentleman offered to make me one. He went behind the bar and as he was making it, his manager/supervisor stopped him and LOUDLY said "What are you doing?! No! No! Unbelievable! (Shook his head) We don't make that for ANYONE." The employee was notably embarrassed by this public reprimand. Seeing as the bar was full and the manager clearly didn't care how loud he was being, I wasn't the only person who witnessed this. I felt extremely bad for the employee. TWO things...one, if your employee isn't following protocol, you discuss that in private!! Two, he could have considered the genuine act of kindness his employee was exhibiting to a PATRON of his establishment...then spoken to him in private that they are unable to make that choice moving forward. If I was him, I would be embarrassed of my behavior- acting completely off of heightened emotions and not with a level head as you'd hope a manager would. Been coming here for over 2 years but will now reconsider supporting an establishment that treats their employees this way. read more

Pollyanna is my favorite microbrewery. All of their beers, of which they have quite a variety of styles, are superb. Recently they had a festival over the weekend and we had the best time. Great bands, great beers and a good selection of food trucks kept us entertained and well-fed throughout the afternoon into the evening. They had shut down the street in front of their location to hold the festival and yet we still took some time to spend in their stylish beer garden in back. Pollyanna had multiple serving locations outside to compliment their main serving area inside of their pour house. This allowed them to quickly serve the huge crowd with very little wait time to get a beverage. They don't serve food but have plenty of local eateries that will deliver food to you while you are there. The servers are always fun, nice, and quick. Our favorite beers are Lexical Gap, a terrific west coast IPA, Eleanor, a nutty well-balanced porter, Roselle Red, a very smooth Vienna lager. I also tried and very much enjoyed their raspberry wheat ale called Summerly. If you are looking for great quality beer in a chill environment, please give them a try. read more

I have visited this location many times. Family friendly. Service is exceptional. The staff lets you sample a selection to see if you like it. Wide selection of beer. They have great pretzels with dipping sauce. Although, they don't have a menu, you can order food for delivery. Outdoor area is perfect on cooler days. The outside area is heated during cooler months. On one visit, the staff was kind enough to let my youngest grandson pay for the tab with his homemade credit card. So cute! read more

While there on a cold Saturday afternoon there was a hot dog vendor and live music. Sitting at the bar the service was top notch. We got the Roselle Red and the west coast IPA Lexical Gap. Great spot! We brought in food and had some great beer. Our server (Rosario) was awesome, she bought us some samples and it led me to my beer of choice that night, Nerd Is The Word (flavors of cherry and strawberry in a sour beer). I prefer breweries that focus on great beer and let you choose your food. We went to Pollyanna in the Fall (St Charles) and LOVED their Fruhoff. This location was also great and we wish we lived closer. I really appreciate the variety of beers they had; most places had tons of IPAs, which I love, but their variety was really nice. I ended my night with an awesome barrel aged stout (sweet, full of barrel aged goodness, and bitter). I got the end of the keg, which was a gift from the bartender. We brought our Smashburger meal and enjoyed some beers to wash it all down. Tonight I tried their brown ale which is different from other brown ales I've had, but still very good. Then I had a small version of the Lechery (light fruited beer with a smooth taste). Rosario was our waitress and she helped us choose some good flavors tonight. Thanks! We love when we can try before we buy. Park across the street and walk in the entrance. There are two seating areas. We chose the one on the right because there was live singing tonight. Pollyanna in Roselle is the perfect hangout spot. Came here last night with a friend and we loved the beer. They have a superb selection of vastly different tasting beers. I personally really liked the Roselle Red(red lager), Lakeside, Summerly (raspberry wheat ale), the watermelon sea salt allure, and humpenscrump. My friend and I got to taste a lot of their beers- we just ordered the 5oz sizes to get the variety throughout the night. They had a food truck right outside and they allow you to order out/bring your own food. I saw people bring in their own pizzas and also saw quite a few pizza deliveries. That's pretty awesome! They had live music playing as well- overall a really lively atmosphere! The service was fantastic. Our waiter was very welcoming when we first got there and checked in on us appropriately throughout the evening. They do have a nice beer garden, which was packed, so we ended up spending all evening inside. Such a cool little establishment and I'd definitely recommend stopping in to check it out! read more

Just wanted to share that on Saturday, September 30, 2023...we experienced awful service and extremely slow service. The products were decent. One guest placed a repeat order and never received it along with another product no longer available for second person. After waiting for a server for over 20 minutes to find out about the order...they were told the order was cancelled. When closing out both items were still on their bill. The server had to reboot her device in order to correct the issue. Very disappointing! read more

I was with my extended family and bragged about how good this place is. we all ordered a drink and when I paid the bill on the server's mobile POS system it auto-filled to an 18% tip. I thought perfect...the server looks at me and says "18%??? Was there something wrong with your service?" First of all, your system auto-filled to 18%. Secondly, all you did was bring over 1 round of drinks. Thirdly, what an absurd response to being given a tip, to question me in front of my family like I'm a cheapskate. This honestly was my favorite local brewery but I will not be returning now. Service is important and this situation was awful. read more

We love Pollyanna...maybe its because its amazing, we are in walk distance and they always have fun events!? I like darker beers so for the fall and winter, Pollyanna is my favorite. I love that they started with the cocktails (the espresso martini is delish!). They are always usually pretty busy, but I have never had an issue finding a table! Their outdoor area has been revamped and it looks super cool with the firepits and the closed in patio (weather permitting). I have attended their beer fest with my friend and our two kids and we all had a blast, from their food trucks, great live music and fun drinks! When I went to the OG location years ago, I didn't have a great experience and had no desire to go back. Admittedly, I wasn't expecting much from this location and totally went in expecting to just use this as a spot to kill some time. Well, I was so wrong. The guys working were awesome. They were hilarious and friendly. Some beers were great, some were eh, but we stayed much longer than anticipated solely because of the vibe. Not a huge place, but not small either. There's a pretty big patio, too. No food, but I think food trucks often come on the weekends. Wait, they *do* have food, in the form of a soft pretzel. You can obviously bring in food, though. I guess this location and the St. Charles one do cocktails, so if you have non-beer drinkers in your group, they should be able to find something they'll like. Loved this spot and wish it was closer. read more

I have been a fan of pollyanna for some time and really enjoy coming to this location. Here they have a large indoor area to sit around with friends and enjoy your favorite pollyanna craft beer or spirit. They also carry some wine from a local winery (Lynford). they remodeled the outside a year or two ago to have large garage doors open to the large outdoor patio. The patio has a lot of picinic benches, tables, and fire tables. Really nice ambiance. I would consider this place to be pet and kid friendly. Often times on weekends they have food trucks right outside along with live acoustic entertainment. Great place for a date night or to simply enjoy a beer on a beautiful sunny day! read more

I've been wanting to check out this brewery since my last visit to Schaumburg last year. Thankfully for my annual visits with work, I had another opportunity to visit with some coworkers, and I managed to scratch another nice brewery off of my list. This brewery is a good size, and has some outside seating, the staff is very friendly. Since I came within a tight time of their closing time, I ordered a flight that came with FIVE glasses. I'm used to the standard four, so I get a little excite when I can get a fifth option. They have a good selction of beer available, and I was happy to visit a brewey that wasn't overloaded with IPA's or Pale Ale's, which made selecting my beers much simpler! read more

I LOVED visiting Pollyanna! Immediately when I walked in they were playing my favorite band, so that had me sold right away. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight and chatted with the bartenders, who were extremely kind, friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. They let me try different things to find out what I'd like to order next. They have a merch wall so you can see what shirts and hats they offer, as well as a glass beer fridge so you can order cans and bottles. Their coer was packed with awesome beer when I was there. I love the malted milk ball beer and was able to take some home! The brewery is really big and has lots of seating space inside, as well as outdoor space. Pollyanna isn't too far from work for me and my coworkers have been urging me to check them out! I'm so glad I finally did as it's a great post-work brew option. When I went on a Thursday evening it wasn't overly packed which may have worked to our favor. Service was great, we were checked in on at all the right times. They have a fabulous array of beers on tap! Everything from sours to bourbon barrel aged and everything in between. I was pretty impressed with their variety of seasonal options. My favorites I've had from them are the 4.6% Cherry Lime Allure (a light & fruity sour), Snickerdoodle Pastry Penguin (an insanely potent 11.5% Imperial Pastry Milk Stout), and Fun Size a candy-bar-esque milk stout clocking in at 6.1% with peanut, vanilla bean, cocoa nib and sea salt. The night we went, I was surprised there was even a food truck on site! Plus it was Toasty Cheese which never disappoints. Definitely a place to stop if you love beer. If you are gluten free or don't like beer there's only two ciders and two house blends of wine to try. That being said the beer is pretty good. They have a ton of options and most are really good. What I don't love about this place is that there isn't any in house food. There are food trucks that frequent but they mostly have finger food. The atmosphere is VERY loud and generally at later times of the night there won't be any seating if you have a party more than two. The service is slow and if you're sitting in the front room you'll be hard pressed to get refills any time quick. My first time here I was sitting at the bar and barely got served so it's really just an attentiveness problem. If people didn't want to keep trying this place I'd probably stick to my usual breweries instead. read more

Pollyanna is located in downtown Roselle near many different restaurants and Lynfred Winery.They have a parking lot, but it is currently being used for outdoor seating. They have a beer garden and they have outdoor seating in the parking lot. I didn't look if they were open inside. There is ample street parking available. I came here on a Saturday night around 6 PM and it was busy! Most of their picnic style tables where you can sit down. There are a few that were standing only and that was what was available on this Saturday night. They also had a BBQ food truck until a bit after 7 PM which was nice, but I did not partake. Their beer list has slimmed down a bit since I visited last December, but they still have quite the selection. The "Summerly" was one of my favorites, which is a raspberry wheat ale. I also had an IPA, and some other five ounce pours for my flight. They also have a few seltzers and ciders available if you're being forced to go to a brewery and do not like to drink beer. Overall, service was really good and the drinks were refreshing on a warm Saturday evening. I'll definitely be back again in the future. read more

I even visited the bar several times to see if I could get my wife and I's order there. They informed me to take a seat and wait for my server (twice). Nice brewery with an extensive list of unique beers to try. This place will literally have a beer that even the non beer drinkers can enjoy. But what sets this place apart from the many others that we have visited is the exceptional customer service and friendliness of the staff. The place has a great vibe to it. Loads of tables and a nice fireplace to add some warmth and ambiance to the tasting room. There is a corner with a stack of games that are readily there to bring to your table and start playing while finding the beer on the list that you can call your own. There's another corner stocked with the brewery items for purchase like tshirts and coozies. And a fully stocked refrigerator for the beer you want to take to go. When we sat down at our table, we were instantly greeted by one of the nicest employees we've seen at a brewery. We let him know that we wanted to do some flights to find some beers that we liked. He came back a few minutes later with a tasting sheet where we could write down the beers we wanted to try. The sheet is nice as it is returned with the beers you picked so you know exactly which one you're drinking by the numbered glass. But as we were sitting there going through their very long list and trying to decide on the first flight, the employee returned to the table with 2 sample beers for us to try while we were actually discussing the beers. We were both surprised by this gesture and in awe of the excellent customer service. One of their beers he brought was already on our list to try, so we were able to change that one up. After our first flight was brought to the table, he comes back yet again to bring us another sample because he noticed we didn't have any of their pastry stouts on our list. We aren't huge stout fans, but so glad he brought the "fun size" stout to the table, as it was excellent. His friendliness and warmth made us carry on to a second flight. We will definitely be back here. Probably to play a game or bring our own. The exceptional service was worth trying this place out and the reason we will be coming back.
