Quick update in response to MaryBeth's review from July 17, since I was at the brewery at the time and saw the whole thing. Two young girls were repeatedly running in and out of the restrooms, slamming the doors, yelling, and disturbing other customers nearby. A staff member asked that the behavior stop. Instead of acknowledging the issue and correcting them herself, MaryBeth took exception to the correction and doubled down. I stayed long enough to see how it played out. Despite what she implies, no one was cited or charged with anything. The police responded, made it clear they were uninterested in the situation, and everyone went on with their day. People can certainly have different opinions about how the situation should have been handled, but this review does not accurately reflect what I witnessed. Most parents either wouldn't allow their children to behave that way in the first place or would simply correct them and move on. Writing a review that misrepresents what happened is another matter entirely. read more

A small brewery in a haunted place that is giving me a total home vibe you so know I'm all for it! Right here was where it was at from the start as this was a was a kinda spontaneous adventure here and I must say I'm happy we came as they have one of the best sours I've had in their BOUJIE FRÜT as it was rich in berry taste as well as a bit tart definitely a really good beer along with the others in our flight we just enjoyed them on their very mellow patio! A good brewery will always have yummy food too and right here I must say they totally are doing that with their burgers if then we went with the bacon and guacamole burger and it was just what it should be cooker perfect and full of flavor with each bite of our burger goodness. The bartenders here were friendly and fast to serve everyone on a busy night which I can tell this place gets busy on the weekends as we were here early on a Friday and it was already getting packed. Overall this is a great local brewery with good food and beers it's the type of place I would frequent if I lived in the area! read more

I had a very uncomfortable experience here. The owner actually yelled at me because she thought I was being loud, which I genuinely wasn't. Instead of calmly addressing the situation or speaking respectfully, she raised her voice and embarrassed me in front of others. I felt singled out and discriminated against, which made the whole experience upsetting and unwelcome. No customer should be treated that way. I won't be returning. read more

I've passed by Wolfden many of times and have only heard good things about it. My husband and I decided to venture in to check it out! The inside is a cute cabin feel with large bar, (2) seating areas, and a cozy larger group table by the entry fireplace. On the front patio, they have a couple of 2-4 person seating groups; but out back, they have plenty of additional seating for all size groups. We decided to sit at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed talking to Mariam & Jack working. They told us the stories behind the fun knick-knacks found around the inside, made great drink recommendations, and were just simply had great energy! We decided to try the Coffee Old Fashioned & Midlife Crisis. The Old Fashioned had more subtle coffee flavor but was well balanced. The Midlife Crisis was recommended and may have been one of the better Malort drinks I've tried. It wouldn't be my regular go-to but was fun to taste. Wolfden does plenty of events & W Th & Sun Specials. They are extremely dog friendly with having an off leash area and dog items on menu to buy. Additionally, they try to add a new beer to the rotation every 1-2 weeks. I really loved my experience here and will happily be back to enjoy more soon! My friends and I have been regular customers here for quite some time, which makes this especially disappointing. On at least two occasions over the past year and a half, we've had negative experiences with the bartender, Brenna. Despite all of us being nearly 23 years old and presenting valid, government-issued IDs, she refused to serve us and even threatened to cut up our IDs because she believed they were fake. Being cautious about checking IDs is understandable, but treating customers this way is unacceptable and unprofessional. Brenna seems far more interested in playing border patrol than bartending, especially given how quick she is to accuse grown adults with valid IDs of trying to use fakes just to order an IPA and her appalling customer service skills. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoy this brewery, but after our most recent experience, we won't be returning while Brenna is behind the bar. I hope management provides additional training on how to properly verify IDs and handle these situations with professionalism and respect. No customer should leave feeling accused or mistreated when they've done nothing wrong! read more

Recently came here over halloween weekend. Me and my wife recently were looking for a brewery to check out that wasn't too far from home and we wanted to give this place a shot. There's a lot of other breweries in walking distance as well it seems. This place features a lot of great events. That you has a very good comprehensive food menu and drinks featured here as well. They even have non-alcoholic drinks too for your designated driver. This place was also kid friendly as well. Plenty of great merchandise is here too. We ordered a burger and fries and even though it was a little pricey that meal will actually fill you up just a portion is really big. Staff here was very friendly and I enjoyed that this whole place was decked out for Halloween as well. read more

We will never ever return here again. First the food is horrible, it's all reheated and cold. Second the drinks weren't good, very watered down and had a weird after taste. Lastly our kids went to the bathroom and some of the workers started swearing at the kids. The manager did nothing and actually told us to leave. Horrible horrible experience. Ending up calling the police and they cited the establishment for over serving their own workers!! Do not go here with your children, the workers will swear at them. read more

We had Jeremy and Miriam as our bartenders! They did a wonderful job while wearing their shrek ears. Definitely had a home vibe. Big back yard for people to hangout with their dogs. Had a very mid experience. Not horrible, but nothing to rave about either. The drinks and outdoor space were decent. The mixed drink was well made and balanced. The beer list was also diverse. Loved that the garden was dog welcoming. The food and service are where I thought the experience were lacking. I understand it is self-service, but it seemed everything was an extra ask. The cooler for self-service water outside was empty, so we had to keep asking them to refill our glasses. We ordered food, but were not given napkins or flatware. We had to go inside to ask for that as well. The burger was nothing special, at least it was cooked ok. The fries and cheese curds had generous portions, but were bland. I guess my thought is if you want to be a straight bar with good drinks, do that and don't waste time with food that is not worth the trip. read more

Felt like I was eating a back yard burger expertly cooked by my favorite uncle right before he hit his High Life threshold, instead of some bougie monstrosity with 14 toppings. We had a good experience here for most of the afternoon and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We stayed for about 2.5 hours on a Saturday at what is supposed to be a brewery/bar, had a few drinks and food, and were having a nice time. Unfortunately, the way our day ended completely changed our impression. When my boyfriend went to order another round, he was told we were being "too loud" and "drinking too fast" and that we needed to wait -- which was confusing given we had only had about three drinks over that entire 2.5 hour period. If that's the standard being enforced, it doesn't really align with the typical expectations of a brewery/bar on a Saturday. It felt unnecessary, inconsistent, and poorly handled. After reading other reviews, it seems this isn't an isolated experience. Because of that, we won't be returning or recommending. read more

We have visited The Den a few times. Most recently on 2/23/26. Had time between errands and picking the kids up from school. After a 2 year hiatus they re-released their Zombie Paczki Golden Pastry Ale. I was willing to pay for a short one and the waitstaff poured it for me comp. Great raspberry flavor, although that's not my thing when it comes to a full pint. I am a hazy girl and enjoyed Foggy Thoughts. My brother loves a tripel and enjoyed Resurrection. He finished with Squatch of Galway, which I also recommend if you like a dark beer. I am always happy to have dropped into The Den. read more

Very cool place. Once you cross the threshold you feel like you're in a cozy cabin in a small town. Decor and vibe is outdoorsy cabin. Outdoor porch offers comfortable seating. We were there for a party. Our friends had reserved a separate bar space a few stairs up from the main floor. We ordered food and drinks at the bar but had privacy and comfortable seating in the event space. The pretzel bites, which I don't usually care for, were delicious, hot and buttery. The gluten free hummus and veggie appetizer was a hit. The pizzas were very good. My favorite was the Italian beef and gardenia pizza but the mushroom/truffle pizza and the pepperoni were also great choices. There was a lot of variety in the beverage menu. I tried a raspberry paczki beer, but really enjoyed the lavender lemonade. The beer selection was great and everyone enjoyed the evening. I can't drink beer but I'm glad I tagged along to this cozy spot as they also have several interesting cocktails. The decor is wolf themed with birch trees used as a wall divider by the fireplace and a super cute wolf howling mural in another area. I tried the Binger which is made with ginger beer (I chose blood orange flavor but they offer several including blueberry and mango) and bourbon. It was delicious. My companions each had a flight of craft beers which they enjoyed. They also offer cans, crowlers and growlers to go. I want to go back to try their food and outdoor beer garden. They used to allow dogs inside but now that they have expanded the kitchen and food menu dogs are allowed only in the beer garden. read more

I passed this brewing so many times I finally had to stop in. Many tables were taken but it's big enough that you don't feel crowded. Located in an Old house from 1851 the interior has a warm cozy feel like a cabin in the woods. You place your order at the bar and they bring it to you. I ordered a flight(4) so I could try some of their interesting beers. Boujie Fruit - blackberry & raspberry sour Zombie Paczki- raspberry golden pastry ale Grandma Vi's Pretzel Pie - creamy strawberry ale Banana Fiasco - banana pastry stout All the beers were very flavorful except I wanted more banana in the pastry stout. We look for breweries with food but this was just not a good day - we got there at the same time as a baseball team with all their parents ! Unfortunately we're were starving but thirsty too we honestly waited over an hour just for our appetizer ( pretzel) it was really small Then we waited another hour for our food! Yes the beers were good and ambiance was nice were family and dog friendly ! But that wait for the food we will not be doing again ! Great beer selection and great vibe - we got lucky and stumbled across Wolfden when there was live music! They have ample outdoor seating for the summertime - a large porch, plus a backyard with covered and uncovered seating, and a fire pit. 4 stars instead of 5 because all ordering (food and drinks) has to be done at the bar, and both times we went to order - the line was quite long. Wish they had a few servers coming around to the outside tables or maybe QR ordering so you can order from the table and pickup inside once the beers are poured. read more

I really liked the bourbon port beer! I appreciate microbrews offering food but I have to give four stars instead of five because the food isn't good, at least what we ordered. The chicken tenders and kettle chips tasted like Tyson frozen chicken and we didn't get kettle chips. More like the bottom of a bag of Lays or Aldi chips. Someone mentioned a new chef. I'm pretty surprised a chef would serve such generic food and it cost $12. Sorry to be a Debbie downer because I love to support microbrews. I'll be back for drinks, especially during the summer. First time here, we walked in and waited by door until finally greeted by bar girl. She told us we can sit anywhere but the entire bottom floor was full. She also told us to place order before we sat at the bar. We took four menus she told us to grab and went up stairs, but the menus were just beer so I had to go back down and ask for the food menu. The menus are all stained and have water stains you can barely read them, that should have been a sign of get out this place but let's give it a try super high rating. The bar girl told me come down here to sit there room now. We came down and our tables were just wiped down so had to wait for it to dry. The upstairs was cold no heat up there. We place our food order and drinks. They do not have fountain drinks so they have coke or sprite in a can. I got a peanut butter nuzzle which was actually good, this was the best part of my meal. I got a 1/2 cheese burger and it was nothing special a nasty frozen cheap patty with a kraft slice melted and mixed salad that it. No onion, tomato, ketchup, mustard or mayo pain bread horrible for 16 bucks and had to pay 2 more dollars for bacon a horrible burger for $18 bucks ridiculous. The crispy chicken sandwich we asked for the buffalo sauce I don't know why it came with an onion ring on top. Nothing special it just a chicken patty from a frozen bag. The cowboy up sandwich says smothered in gooey cheese but that not the case and it comes with one onion ring. It is supposed to get served with tatter tots but ended with curly fries never was told why. The food here honestly is garbage and overpriced. If people in the reviews say it good they must be drunk since basically it just a local bar not a brewery. Wouldn't recommend to no one honestly read more

I've driven past Wolfden numerous times but I'm glad I finally stopped in. There is plenty of space to drink indoors plus a generous backyard space as well. There are lawn games available and a fire pit- both of which I will want to come back for. Since I came in on Oktoberfest, the brewery was more festive and certainly more busy than a typical day. I appreciated the wide variety of options on the menu and I particularly enjoyed the fruity sour and seasonal Oktoberfest beers. All in all- this was a great switch up from the many industrial area brewery options in the area with some really good beers! read more

I've been coming here for years, actually since they opened, and it's truly a local gem. The owners are incredibly invested in making Wolfden a place to go for amazing beer, a great experience, and now - incredible food! Currently, they're testing some recipes with the new chef and starting to launch some good eats. Previously it was just random food trucks, which just wasn't ideal IMO. Every beer is phenomenal - follow them on IG or sign up for their emails to keep up to speed on the new ones. Good stuff in this brewery in Bloomingdale. In this turn where not all that much goes on is this reason to come here. Wolfden is in a charming looking building with a relaxed atmosphere and good for hanging out. Has a pretty good selection on tap with a few interesting flavors. There's not that much in the way of food but they have pretzels. Came here with a friend. I wanted to check out a few of the beers as they sounded totally fucking good. The ones we tried certainly were. It wasn't the best for sure but the ones we tried we all liked. The first I had was the Zombie Apple Strudel. It's $7 a pint. This is a golden pastry ale so it has a dessert flavor, which makes this a good capper for a meal I think. It's made with cinnamon sticks and Madagascar vanilla beans. We had the Pretzel Crack Dill Pickle pretzels. It's $5 a bag. These are addicting like crack for sure. Enjoyable and a fun atmosphere for a brewery. It has a chill feel. Truly a gem! I'll definitely be coming back with more people in the future. Came here with my friend and our dogs and we loved it. Dogs are allowed in the beer garden. The beer is really good!! Loved everything I tried! They have some food on their menu - we had the spinach artichoke dip and chips and the mini pretzels stuffed with cheese. Both were very good, especially the pretzels. The ambiance is amazing and I think this is the perfect brewery to visit in the spring, summer and fall months. Their beer garden is super cute! They have a patio area and then a more open area- plenty of seating. There's a bunch of tables and chairs to sit in the shade and they also have a stage, so I'm guessing they have live music sometimes as well. It wasn't too packed when we were there- there were some couples and a few families with their kids. I would imagine it gets more packed here on a Friday or a Saturday, especially now in the summer! Beer was delicious. We decided to try two of the IPAs that both were full of flavor. I was bummed that I came on a gloomy day because the outside patio looked gorgeous and plenty of space. Fun local brewery in Bloomingdale. Quaint atmosphere inside and beautiful large outdoor area with a deck and lots of green grass - makes it feel like home. Well behaved dogs are welcomed. A menu of about 20 specialty beers and 10 or so featured cocktails. Reasonably priced. If you're into board games, large selection to choose from while you enjoy your drink. This brewery is very close to my house so I thought I'd give it a try when my friend Tim was visiting. He and I went over yesterday evening. The venue itself is only a few years old (2018). They had an Elton John cover band playing on the patio when we arrived. It is a very modern, clean space. Sadly, I think that is where the positives ended. The menu was (IMHO), very limited and on the menu itself was small. We ordered our drinks. Tim's first beer was mediocre. My first drink was quite good, but the speed of our service was incredibly slow. We had ordered entrees, but we ended up canceling them when we waited 20 minutes with no attention from our server. I'd probably have been willing to overlook the slow service, but one of the employees was incredibly rude to my friend. I really did like my drink and it was quite strong. read more

Enjoyable brewery with a lot of character and potential. We stopped by last night for the first time. I saw someone's picture of the front, which looked like a house - even more reason to give it a whirl. Wolfden has a good 10 or so crafts on tap that covered the spectrum of styles nicely. I went dark beer and tried their stouts and porters. The peanut butter porter was damned good. Can't say I've had that level or peanut butter taste/sharpness in a beer before, so I had two glasses. ; ) The other crafts were decent. They have some unique opportunities to hang out here. There's the main floor when you walk in, which includes a wrapped bar, tables, and a tucked away room when you walk in the door. There's also a second level that looks brand new with raised tables, and counter seating (which overlooks their brewing tanks). And then there's the enormous backyard. Complete with multiple fire pits and a small stage, there's enough room to comfortably sit 50+ people back here. We also got the unique experience of their Halloween Décor last night. Plenty of props, signs and décor covered the entire brewery. Very cool. They have what I'd call small plates of food here, pub grub mostly. Many breweries don't offer any food at all so this is a nice perk. Enjoyed our stay, friendly service and a good ambience in here. Cheers. read more

The beers were excellent! Really enjoyed the unique options. The atmosphere was really cool. Felt like I was drinking at someone's house and the backyard set-up was really chill and spacious! However, our food took over an hour to come out. There was a music event going on so we understood it might take awhile, but an hour seemed a bit unreasonable. We went up to ask and they said they had put the wrong order number in their system so couldn't find our number tent. They had our name from the credit card (because that was how they verified which order was ours) so they could have been more proactive and called out the name or even just called out what the order was. Instead they let it go cold and then had to remake the order after we went up to ask about it. (Which we had to wait in a long line to go ask). I think a discount or a free beer at least would have been nice to make up for their mistake. But nothing was done. Kind of disappointing and left me feeling bummed. I had the Elotes flatbread and it was missing the goat cheese. So it was pretty bland. My suggestion would be to let people bring in outside food if you can't keep up with the kitchen orders. Also, the test kitchen menu is pretty limited. Not everyone in our party could find something they liked. When you are serving alcohol, I think it is important to have easy access to food. Overall, I think they should stick to what they do best, beer. The food aspect just seemed to be causing more chaos than it was worth. I say all this because I want places like this to succeed and these criticisms are meant to be productive and helpful for the future! read more
