Both foods tasted good. The Lemon Chicken came with lots of rice and was covered with cheese. The chicken was not dry and I added the salsa to the rice to give it more flavor. The hamburger was very tasty, it had onions and the burger itself had a good taste. Our waitress was helpful. The Manager came around to see if all was well with our food. For appetizer we shared the wonton taco.

But, the manager's shocking behavior entirely ruined our experience. Will not return. * The Good: The facility is stunning. without a reservation, the staff stil accomidated our large group with a private room. The sever was attentive, friendly, and very perky. As well, the kitchen served a large group incredibly fast. * The Problem: One guest ordered a medium-rare steak that came out completely overcooked. When she asked for a remake, the manager came out and insulted her to her face, told her that if he remade it it would be exactly the same, then sarcastically asked if she "wanted him to slap down a raw steak on her plate." She said it was fine, kept the food, then later left the table and broke into tears in the restroom. * The Confrontation: After dinner, I approached him calmly to offer polite, constructive criticism based on professional customer service experience (worked restaurants for years in a restaurant my family owned) He became fiercely stubborn, denied the insult, and grew so aggressive and volatile that I had to walk away. * The Staff's View: Tellingly, multiple staff members whispered comments to our group about how awful this manager is to work for. It is a shame that a hardworking kitchen and great servers are being weighed down by a manager who lacks basic human decency and conflict-resolution skills. We spent a lot of money to be insulted. Ownership needs to step in immediately.

I visited with a group and was met by a friendly, yet astonished lady who seemed to have never seen so many people in her shop before. My main targets (chocolate chip, sprinkle cookies) were available, however I noticed some of the pastry racks were missing quite a few items. My group was looking for conchas, however only one selection was available. We had to wait a bit for the staff to make some more. The conchas taste good, but I've tasted better in years past. Don't get me wrong, I'm always looking for a chocolate concha fix, it just wasn't warm enough. I wanted a hot drink with it but unfortunately I don't think they sell Mexican hot cocoa here. I spotted a small fridge with refreshments like Jarrito's and other popular Mexican cold drinks. The store is older, but well-maintained. I think it needs an update aesthetically, but overall it was very clean. As for seating, I couldn't find tables inside nor outside (except one, without chairs). La Reina is very much a grab-n-go bakery.

I have gone here a few times and my opinion has always been mixed. The food is good, the pie is delicious. Only reason it didn't get a higher rating is because certain workers make it a bad atmosphere. Just the other day I heard a server telling an off the clock worker got a crappy tip and had a huge attitude over it. The person who was off the clock tried getting her to lower her voice but she didn't care. It was not the appropriate place to discuss that and it is not mandatory to be tipped. There are a few servers I absolutely love (I highly recommend Tilly, she is a doll) there has been a few times where I have heard a server get mad about not getting sat because I asked for someone else. I later heard someone call her Star a few times, she would get mad and I heard her give the hostess an attitude blaming Tilly when I asked for her so it was in no way Tilly's fault. I also went last night, the cashier that was working was very nice and helpful but I noticed she was injured and doing certain movements caused her pain. I asked a server why she was working while hurt and they maid a quick comment about her actually being "reliable unlike others". She quickly said that if she wanted to she can ask to go but wanted to stay. I still love this place but could do without some of the drama from certain people read more

*Beware of the manager Mike* I went in last week and had lunch with my wife and two daughters. One of the Managers who our server said his name was Mike was being a total creep. He was making my young daughters feel uncomfortable when they walked to the restroom by themselves. He waited for them by himself and tried to say something to them but they ran back to table. I told a friend about it and I guess he has a history of this weird behavior in the past (other restaurants). I hope they did a background check. Good ol Hemet! This review is only dedicated to the banana cream pie (sugar-free and regular). Man, it's always a good day whenever I can get my hands on a slice of this pie (even better, when I am able to buy a whole one)! My parents are borderline diabetic and it gives them so much joy to be able to eat this pie. I definitely prefer this pie over Marie Callenders, that's for sure.
