There are a handful of these places in So Cal (some are called Polly's Bakery, others Polly's Pies). It's a down-home, midwest-style, oaisis of comfort. Donna and I happened to be at the Norco restaurant during a pie raffle (yes, a pie raffle!). It was our first visit, so they gave us a free giant cinnamon roll (pictured) which we only sampled because our tummys needed room for their signature potato pancakes and smoked Kilebasa. While I would give more than five stars for Polly's lunches and dinners, I would give their breakfasts ELEVEN stars out of ten! Their breakfasts really put those at both Corky's and Brandon's to shame! Once again, we had Anna as our server, and she's really good at her job. She remembered us from last week's lunch, even remembered what we ordered. My other half cannot eat full meals due to past cancer surgery, and she recommended a breakfast for him with eggs, toast, choice of sausage, and hash browns. Even with her recommendation, it was a lot of food! And those sausages were nice, fat, juicy, and delicious. I chose the Eggs Benedict, and was amazed that the dish came with one of Polly's gooey, fresh, warm, and humongous cinnamon rolls! Big enough for two people to share. The dish itself is served with thick cuts of ham instead of Canadian bacon. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly made--one could not taste too much butter or too much lemon, which is a problem most restaurants have. I had the California Benedict with a bran muffin. This was, by far, the best meal I've had at a Polly's Pies to date. The muffin was the perfect combination of sweet and bran. The entree was hot, beautiful to look at, and the avocado was still firm and cold. The service was quick and left me with a very welcoming experience. My sister convinced our large family to come here to eat for breakfast. We waited about 10 minutes for a family or 12, which seems reasonable for the holidays. We could not take advantage of their weekday breakfast specials, because it was a holiday, but their prices were still fine. A few people at the table ordered their famed cinnamon roll that I was very thankful to get a taste of. The roll was warm and gooey and delicious. Everytime I've gone they take forever just to take my drink order. and take FOREVER for the food to come out! and when the food comes out they never even come by to see if we need anything. I love pie. I mean LOVE! Pollys has some awesome pie. I love that the crust is not too flaky or burnt, it has the perfect amount of sweet butteriness. And probably the best pumpkin pie I've ever had. The chocolate cream is also delish, it has a strong but amazing choco flavor. Although the name of this joint reminds me of small miniature sized dolls that used to be popular, the food is more like a better Marie Callendars. No offense, Marie. The food here has a lot more flavor. The mega grilled cheese on sourdough with garlic parm spread won my heart. The portions are large, but not middle America large, which made me happy. Visited last Saturday with a picky girl friend. Ive never been here unless it was breakfast or lunch time so dinner was new. It was nice for me to order the Turkey dinner! Thick sliced roast Turkey on top of yummy, moist stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans & mashed potatoes with gravy. It was actually very tasty. And I believe I only paid $10. My indecisive friend threw a tantrum that that macademia herb encrusted chicken dinner is only available on Sunday nights. So she ordered a roast chicken dinner which looked great and she loved. So I been passing by this place so many times now and decided to give it a try; this review will be based on breakfast. So I came in around 11am on a Sunday after church craving some breakfast. Once I got there it was a 20min wait which isn't bad and I figure if people are waiting then this must be a decent place to dine at. So they finally called my name and the inside was very nice and clean. It had that home feel to it, not like a traditional restaurant environment. The breakfast menu had a lot of variety to choose from. They have your basic breakfast menu and a special menu which had waffles, pancakes, and French toast when added toppings. So I ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast that came along with 2-eggs, bacon, and shred hash brown. My gf ordered the waffle meal which came with waffles of course eggs bacon and hash browns. The waffle didn't have toppings because she didn't want any. So 15mins pass by and our breakfast came out. The wait wasn't that bad so that was a plus. Now for the quality taste; it wasn't that bad but it wasn't super epic. When I had brunch Buffett at Citrus City Grill in Corona, I felt it taste much better. The only plus side of this place is the large portion you get and the price was very reasonable. 2 big breakfast for two came out to only $20. Now I know this place apparently is famous for there pies hinting that their name is Polly pot pie; I didn't get a chance to try one because they are freshly cooked at the restaurant. I noticed when everyone left the place they walk out with a pie. Perhaps next time I will. So for the price you pay and the large portions you get with ok taste quality, this place isn't that bad at all. read more

The food here is mediocre. I've had the chicken strip salad and a BLT--not things that are hard to screw up. The chicken strips were really hard and mostly breading while the BLT was standard. We have been wanting to come here for years and just never have. We were in the area early on a Saturday morning and decided on here over some other places close by. We waited about 1/2 hour but felt like hours . I got the banana macadamia nut pancakes and they are soooo good but there wasn't that many nuts at all. the sausage is the best and the bacon too. I left a prior review for this establishment a few months ago. At that time the service wasn't that great and quite honestly the food neither. I told my wife I'd never step in there again. However, after receiving a timely response from Polly's Management (Megan) expressing their apologies for my experience, I accepted their offer to return after receiving a gift card. Quite honestly I did it for my wife, and didn't know what to expect. I'm pleased to say that it was a "Night and Day" experience from last time! At the suggestion of Jennifer (our server) I ordered the Pot Pie dinner. It came out hot and fresh! My Chicken and wild rice soup was also hot and flavorful! Totally different experience. I have been a regular customer since they opened. The only thing I was not pleased with was the annual process for picking up pre orders at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was thrilled that they significantly streamlined and improved the process this year. By having pre order customers use a separate entrance and having knowledgeable staff greet us, check our order and sending us to pick up made a tremendous difference. Thank you! This place is the real deal! My girlfriend and I have dined here mostly for breakfast which has been excellent, but a few times for lunch too. We feel the quality of the ingredients are excellent and it has a home-cooked taste to every breakfast we've ordered. The last time we ate here, we both had one of their lunch specials. I had meatloaf and a couple of sides and my girlfriend had the tuna sandwich special. Of course we had to try each others dishes and agreed that they were both excellent. With their special, they included a piece of pie. We were too full to eat it there, so we asked to have it boxed up and the server took care of it. We both appreciate a good cup of coffee and Polly's does not disappoint with their coffee. The service has always been good and we love to stop here when we are in the area. We ordered the Holiday meal and picked it up on December 24th with ham, potatoes, green beans sweet potato and pumpkin pie and it was the best of any meal of its type. read more

Apparently Asian people are not welcomed in this establishment!!! I've been to many "Polly Pies" however this location is by far the worst. Service, food, and atmosphere. I vowed to never step foot here again after many incidents with staff members. But than my 4 year old loves their chicken pot pie and requested it for dinner. I called placed ordered and was told food will be ready in 10 minutes. I took my time getting there. Arrived 25 mins later food still is not ready. So I sat in the waiting area with my 2yr and 4yr old son. Waiter brings out my food. It was incorrect and he was missing the cinnamon bun. So he went to the back to correct it. Another 20 mins passed just waiting on my tuna sandwich, chicken pot pie, and cinnamon bun. By this time my boys are getting loud rowdy but nothing crazy. I mean it was only 4:40pm and only a few customers dining. We're alone in the waiting area. Then this white older lady approached my boys. She said "YOUR KIND" needs to teach them boys some manners". I looked at her and said they are just kids ma'am. She got closer to my boys I stepped in front of them and said look ma'am if your thinking about laying even just 1 finger on my son. I will put you in the hospital. I am not afraid to knock out an old lady. Than she shouted "I hope Trump deports you and your kids"!! I chuckled and said well we're all American citizens. I had not eaten at a Polly's in years. I was looking for a place that my mother, girlfriend, and I could all find something to eat, so I thought I would check it out. First thing I noticed was that there were far fewer pie offerings than in previous years. We were seated promptly, but it took a while for a waitperson to take a drink order, and even longer to get simple cups of coffee. I don't blame the waiter, for the hostess did not seat anyone in his station that was easy for him to serve quickly. We ordered the blue cheese wedge salad, a wild salmon, spinach salad, rolls and cornbread, and their new pea soup. Let me start with the worse: The pea soup had the consistency and flavor of Elmer's paste glue, but I was hungry, so I ate it. When I got down to the bottom of the cup I found two small, clear, plastic, takeout lids; such as the kind used for takeout salsa. My girlfriend and I looked at the salmon and tried to flake it with a fork; it would have been fine if it was smoked to make jerky, but a Slim Jim beef sick would have tasted better and would have been more moist. The fried won-ton strips were a oily dark brown, a sure sign of dirty cooking oil. I have had better dressing from a jar purchased at Walmart. When we informed the waiter of the pea soup, paste, lid concoction, the manager offered us a free dessert. My respect goes to the waiter and the manager for doing the right thing; clearly the kitchen staff is incompetent. I was reluctant to eat anything else, for fear of a food-borne illness, but I decided to have a slice of apple pie. Surely that would be OK. Yet, I have had better apple pies from Food-4-Less. The bottom crust was raw and soggy, the apples had no flavor and were over cooked like chunky apple sauce, and cinnamon was overwhelming. Clearly, Polly's is not what they use to be. I will not give them a second chance. I am saddened to discover that another classic icon of comfort food is gone. I remember why I choose to cook at home and make my own pies. A group of us wanted to meet for breakfast, we hadn't seen each other in over a year. Someone suggested Polly's Pies in Norco, I immediately jumped on yelp. It had poor reviews so I was hoping for the best, expecting the worst. Let me tell you, it was AWESOME!!! Our server TRISHA, was AMAZING!!! Very kind, friendly & always making her rounds. The food was delicious, omg!!! The bread was freakin delicious. I didn't know they baked their own bread loaf among other baked goods. I ordered avocado & egg toast. It was delicious seriously going back & taking my family with me, but we will have to wait because Trisha is off on her Caribbean cruise celebrating her anniversary with her hubby I totally recommend this place & remember to ask to be seated in Trisha's area, you will NOT regret it. I've been to this location once in the past and enjoyed it but freaking fell in love with it after my visit last week. We went for breakfast and I had a bomb breakfast sandwich with good potatoes on the side. I also had a biscuit which was good too. AND, we had their seasonal dessert which was a Funnel Cake topped with ice cream and some unbelievably good sauce. It was one of the best desserts I've had in a very, very long time. Only bad thing is that it will be off the menu soon because it's seasonal. The location is clean and the staff is courteous. Drove 16 miles to get a fresh Peach Pie. Sadly, the we're out. I received an explanation of "something was wrong with the peaches" I purchased a Banana Cream pie instead, yuck, yuck yuck. I actually was hoping for a lot when I saw how consistently busy this place was. Honestly I couldn't have been more disappointed. The service was terribly slow. We were sat down and had to wait 15 minutes before anyone offered us coffee or water. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes before we were offered a chance to order. The food wasn't great either. My three egg-omelet was undersized to the point that I doubted it was made up of three eggs. I could still see yolk running from it as well so it was clearly undercooked. And then everything that should have been insider the omelet was situated to the side of the plate as if it wasn't supposed to be in the egg itself. Our server, also didn't know what she was doing. We asked her for salsa, she brought back cholula. Amazing. The one extra star is for the pies, which are actually very good on their own. Just don't have a seat, it's not worth your time. read more
